Synthesis of tritium-labeled phytohormones

A method has been developed for obtaining tritium-labeled analogues of -indolylacetic acid and of 6-benzylaminopurine by the method of isotopic catalytic exchange. Isolation of biocidal peptides from Anethum graveolens seeds

Three peptides with fungicidal activity with molecular weights 4–8 kDa were isolated from Anethum graveolens L. seeds. The cationic peptides were tested in vitro and inhibited the pathogenic strain Verticillium dahliae. The effective concentrations required for 50% inhibition (IC₅₀) growth of fungi were in the range 1.3–31 μg/mL. Analysis of the nerve growth activities of protein fractions from the venoms of Agkistrodon halys halys and Echis multisquamatus

The possibility has been shown of obtaining NGFs in the process of isolating coagulant proteinases and other biologically active substances from the venoms of theAgkistrodon halys halys and theEchis multisquamata. Peptide dictionaries for growth factors

Peptide fragments in the amino acid sequences in various families of growth factors that are characteristic and unique for each group of proteins have been determined with the aid of computer methods. Peptide maps of growth factors have been compared. Calculation of the rate constant for rupture of intratomic bonds in solids using Slater theory for unimolecular decomposition

We have calculated the rate constant for rupture of the interatomic bond in a simple cubic lattice of harmonically coupled atoms. We have examined the problem within the framework of Slater theory for one-dimensional and three-dimensional decomposition models. In the one-dimensional model, the rate constant has an Arrhenius temperature dependence. In the three-dimensional model, at low temperatures the result coincides with the one-dimensional model; but at high temperatures the rate of bond rupture decreases inversely proportional to temperature.Translated from Teoreticheskaya i Éksperimental'naya Khimiya, Vol. 22, No. 6, pp. 715–719, November–December 1986.The authors express their thanks to A. Numerical Simulation of Quantum Teleportation Across Biological Membrane in Photosynthetic Reaction Centers

Quantum teleportation of electron spins in the modified photosynthetic reaction centers is investigated numerically. The output of the teleported state is analyzed as a signal of the primary spin echo. The simulations of the model systems clarifying the role of different contributions to the signal are described. Requirements for the successful teleportation, including the recombination rates, Zeeman and spin–spin interactions are found. The variation of the teleportation scheme is discussed.
