Green multicomponent reaction for synthesis of trisubstituted pyrroles in ionic liquid [bmim]BF<Subscript>4</Subscript>

2,4,5-Trisubstituted pyrrole derivatives were efficiently synthesized by one-pot condensation of 1,3-diones, α-bromoacetophenones, and ammonium acetate in ionic liquid [bmim]BF₄. The new synthetic method offers multisubstituted pyrroles with the advantages of mild reaction conditions, operational simplicity, higher yield, and environmental friendliness.     

Facile Deprotection of 1,3‐Oxathiolanes to Carbonyl Compounds with O‐Iodoxy Benzoic Acid (IBX) in the Presence of β‐Cyclodextrin in Water

1,3‐Oxathiolanes are smoothly deprotected to carbonyl compounds by IBX at room temperature with β‐cyclodextrin as a catalyst and water as solvent.

6-Alkylcarbamato/alkylthiocarbamato-2,10-dichloro-12-trichloromethyl-12 H -dibenzo [d,g][1,3,2]-dioxaphosphocin 6-oxides have been synthesized by the condensation of 2,2-bis(2-hydroxy-5-chlorophenyl)-1,1,1-trichloroethane with dichlorophosphinyl carbamates of different alcohols/thiols in the presence of triethylamine in dry toluene and were characterized by different spectral studies.     

Microwave Thermolysis Vi : A Rapid and General Method for Dethioacetalization Using “Clayan” in Dry Media

A variety of thioacetals, dithiolanes and dithianes are deprotected into their carbonyl compounds using clay supported ammonium nitrate “Clayan” under microwave irradiation. The present method avoids the use of toxic oxidants and excess of solvent.     

Strategy and Construction of the Backbone Bistetrahydrofuran System Towards Synthesis of Rollinicin

Rollinicin¹ (I), uvaricin² (II) and cherimoline³ (III), the new antitumour, antibiotic agents, isolated from renewable resources having bistetrahydrofuran ring system in the molecules, have been recently reported. Bates² has postulated that uvaricin has been probably biosynthesised from 1,5,9-trienoic acid derivative. The central portion of I - III, a bistetrahydrofuran ring system, is apparently novel. This prompted us to develop a methodology for the construction of the central bistetrahydro-furan ring system (L) using acetylenic derivatives as the starting materials for the first time. In this communication, we report 4 its result.     

Concise Stereoselective Total Synthesis of (4R, 6R)-Lactone Moiety Analog of Mevinoline and Compactin

A simple and highly efficient synthetic route has been developed for analogue of HMGCo A reductase inhibitor (1). The strategy utilizes S-Corey–Bakshi–Shibata (CBS) reduction, FeCl₃-catalyzed C-H insertion of ethyl diazoacetate.
