A series of tetraoxane? triazine hybrids and spiro[piperidine‐4,3′‐tetraoxanes] have been synthesized, and all the compounds were screened for in vitro antimalarial activity against chloroquine‐sensitive (D6) and chloroquine‐resistant (W2) strains of Plasmodium falciparum. Most of the spiro[piperidine‐4,3′‐tetraoxanes] exhibited moderate to good antimalarial activities, and two compounds have shown good antimalarial activity with IC50 values in the range of 0.30 to 0.70 μM against both the strains with high selectivity index and no cytotoxicity towards mammalian kidney cell line. 相似文献

Lewis acids catalyzed highly efficient one‐pot three component coupling of β‐naphthol, benzaldehydes and urea to produce 1‐aryl‐1,2‐dihydro‐naphtho[1,2‐e][1,3]oxazin‐3‐one derivatives under solvent free conditions is described. Mechanistic studies confirmed that product formation is possible only at very high temperature (140–150°C) and at lower temperature (90–100°C) formation of 14‐aryl‐14H‐dibenzo(a,j)xanthenes was observed. Among the nine Lewis acids screened, iodine, P2O5 and Yb(OTf)3 are found to be most effective catalyst for this multicomponent reaction. 相似文献

Picroside‐I and picroside‐II are known bioactive metabolites in Picrorhiza species. In the present study a simple, precise method has been established for the simultaneous determination of picrosides (picroside‐I and picroside‐II) in two different Picrorhiza species, P. kurroa and P. scrophulariiflora. This method was also validated for accuracy, precision, robustness, limit of detection and quantification, repeatability and recovery, according to International Conference of Harmonization guidelines. Separation and quantification was achieved by HPTLC using as the mobile phase chloroform–methanol (88:12, v/v) on precoated silica gel 60F254 aluminum plates. Densitometric determination was carried out at wavelength λmax 254 nm in UV absorbance mode. Comparative study also revealed that picroside‐I and picroside‐II are higher in P. scrophulariiflora than P. kurroa. Picroside‐I content was found to be 1.258 and 1.611%, and picroside‐II was estimated as 0.481 and 0.613% in P. kurroa and P. scrophulariiflora, respectively. Antioxidant potential of these two Picrorhiza species was also studied using DPPH. At a concentration of 0.1 mg/mL the scavenging activities of P. kurroa and P. scrophulariiflora were found to 37.70 and 34.30%, respectively. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

We present the results of Monte Carlo simulations of the adsorption of single-component ethane and ethylene and of equimolar mixtures of these two gases on bundles of closed, single-walled carbon nanotubes. Two types of nanotube bundles were used in the simulations: homogeneous (i.e., those in which all the nanotubes have identical diameters) and heterogeneous (those in which nanotubes of different diameters are allowed). We found that at the same pressure and temperature more ethane than ethylene adsorbs on the bundles over the entire range of pressures and temperatures explored. The simulation results for the equimolar mixtures show that the pressure at which maximum separation is attained is a very sensitive function of the diameter of the nanotubes present in the bundles. Simulations using heterogeneous bundles yield better agreement with single-component experimental data for isotherms and isosteric heats than those obtained from simulations using homogeneous bundles. Possible applications of nanotubes in gas separation are discussed. We explored the effect of the diameter of the nanotubes on the separation ability of these sorbents, both for the internal and for the external sites. Micro and macro elements such as Zn, Cu, Mn, Fe, Co, Na, K, Ca and Li were detected from Rheum moorcroftianum Royle, a plant used in folk medicines. Altitudinal and seasonal variation of these trace elements in cultivated and wild roots and leaves of R. moorcroftianum were quantified by atomic absorption spectroscopy. The highest concentrations of Zn, Cu, Mn, Fe, Co, Na, K, Ca and Li were found to be 376.0?±?0.9, 83.0?±?4.6, 322.0?±?6.0, 920.0?±?1.9, 72.0?±?1.5, 402.0?±?7.8, 10,235.0?±?7.0, 12,336.0?±?2.6 and 59.9?±?0.3 mg?kg(-1), respectively, in all the samples analysed. 相似文献

We report the first example of synthetic chondroitin sulfate (CS) microarrays to rapidly identify glycosaminoglycan-protein interactions and probe the specificity of proteins for distinct sulfation sequences. Using the microarrays, we identify a novel interaction between CS and TNF-alpha, a proinflammatory cytokine involved in rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease, and psoriasis. Moreover, we demonstrate that CS-E tetrasaccharides and polysaccharides enriched in the CS-E sulfation motif can inhibit the activity of this therapeutically important cytokine. We anticipate that carbohydrate microarrays will accelerate our understanding of glycosaminoglycan-protein interactions and the role of sulfation in modulating physiological and disease states. 相似文献

The magnetic nanoparticles of Fe/FeCo/FePt, in the past, in a PLD system were grown by us using argon ambient gas pressure of about 0.1–75.0 mbar, as the ambient gas pressure can be used to tune the energy of the incident plasma plume species, the expansion volume, the growth duration, etc. which can control the particle size. In present paper, we report the direct synthesis of small-sized nanoparticles even when no ambient gas was used, with the experiments being done in higher vacuum of about 10?5 mbar in PLD chamber. The deposition rate under vacuum condition is significantly higher than the deposition rate at high ambient pressure. The study of inplane and outplane magnetic properties, along with XRD results, confirmed that the as-deposited CoPt nanoparticles thin film has oriented growth. The as-deposited CoPt nanoparticles are in magnetically soft fcc phase and a post deposition annealing at 600°C resulted in phase transition to magnetically hard fct phase. 相似文献

Diamond-like carbon (DLC) films were deposited on Si (1 0 0) substrate using a low energy (219 J) repetitive (1 Hz) miniature plasma focus device. DLC thin film samples were deposited using 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 focus shots with hydrogen as filling gas at 0.25 mbar. The deposited samples were analyzed by XRD, Raman Spectroscopy, SEM and XPS. XRD results exhibited the diffraction peaks related to SiO2, carbon and SiC. Raman studies verified the formation amorphous carbon with D and G peaks. Corresponding variation in the line width (FWHM) of the D and G positions along with change in intensity ratio (ID/IG) in DLC films was investigated as a function of number of deposition shots. XPS confirmed the formation sp2 (graphite like) and sp3 (diamond like) carbon. The cross-sectional SEM images establish the 220 W repetitive miniature plasma focus device as the high deposition rate facility for DLC with average deposition rate of about 250 nm/min. 相似文献

A comparative study of the ultrafast dynamics on ZnO thin films deposited on flat Si substrates and on Si micro-cones following
ultrashort laser excitation has been carried out using time-resolved optical spectroscopy. By monitoring the transient band
gap renormalization induced by nonlinearly excited carriers it is found that fast electron scattering and trapping occurs
more efficiently in the micro-cones as compared to the flat films. This enhanced trapping efficiency is attributed to the
