We have measured the time of the optical response of a 350-GHz radiation detector based on a superconductor–insulator–normal metal–insulator–superconductor tunnel structure with a suspended normal-metal bridge integrated into a planar log-periodic antenna. The transient characteristics of the detector were recorded when irradiated by a fast cryogenic blackbody source with a rise time of the order of microseconds. For this purpose, a short intense heating pulse was fed to an emitting NiCr film radiation source with a low heat capacity. The measured response time was 1.8 ± 0.5 μs at a bolometer electron temperature of 0.17 K, with a detection sensitivity of 10–17–10–18 W Hz–1/2 being potentially achievable.  相似文献

An organic binder was identified in the painted fragments from the Canaanite palace of Tel Kabri, Israel. Recently dated to the late 18th century B.C.E. by 14C, Tel Kabri is the most ancient of the Eastern Mediterranean sites in which Aegean style paintings have been found. The application of pigments was suspected to be using an organic binding medium, particularly for the Egyptian Blue pigment. Samples of blue paint were examined using evolved gas analysis‐mass spectrometry (EGA‐MS) in order to overcome the analytical challenges imposed by highly degraded aged proteinaceous materials. Egg was identified as the binder based on the presence of hexadecanonitrile and octadecanonitrile, confirming the use of a secco painting technique. Lysozyme C from Gallus gallus was detected by proteomics analysis, confirming the presence of egg. To our knowledge, this is the earliest use of egg as a binder in Aegean style wall paintings.  相似文献

Cobalt ferrite magnetic nanostructures were synthesized via a high temperature solution phase method. Spherical nanostructures of various sizes were synthesized with the help of seed mediated growth of the nanostructures in organic phase, while faceted irregular (FI) cobalt ferrite nanostructures were synthesized via the same method but in the presence of a magnetic field. Magnetic properties were characterized by SQUID magnetometry, relaxivity measurements and thermal activation under RF field, as a function of size and shape. The results show that the saturation magnetization of the nanostructures increases with an increase in size, and the FI nanostructures exhibit lower saturation magnetization than their spherical counterparts. The relaxivity coefficient of cobalt ferrite nanostructures increases with increase in size; while FI nanostructures show a higher relaxivity coefficient than spherical nanostructures with respect to their saturation magnetization. In the case of RF thermal activation, the specific absorption rate (SAR) of nanostructures increases with increase in the size. The contribution sheds light on the role of size and shape on important magnetic properties of the nanostructures in relation to their biomedical applications.  相似文献

Current efficient magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) methods such as parallel-imaging and k-t methods encode MR signals using a set of effective encoding functions other than the Fourier basis. This work revisits the proposition of directly manipulating the set of effective encoding functions at the radiofrequency excitation step in order to increase MRI efficiency. This approach, often termed "broadband encoding," enables the application of algebraic matrix factorization technologies to extract efficiency by representing and encoding MR signal content in a compacted form. Broadband imaging equivalents of fast multiecho, parallel and k-t MRI are developed and analyzed. The potential of these techniques to increase the time efficiency of data acquisition is experimentally verified on a commercial MRI scanner using simple spin-echo imaging. A three-dimensional gradient-echo dynamic imaging application that demonstrates the potential benefits of this approach compared to the present state of the art for certain applications is also presented.  相似文献

A new parallel MR imaging technique, which uses localized information from the elements of a multi-coil array to accelerate imaging, is described. The technique offers an alternative reconstruction approach to currently available techniques (e.g., SMASH and SENSE). Following a partial k-space data acquisition, image reconstruction in this approach proceeds in two steps: first, fitting the measured coil sensitivities to a set of partially localized target functions, a blurred intermediate image of the studied object is produced. Blurring is obtained in a systematic manner, forming images of the studied object convolved with a known convolution kernel. Full spatial resolution is then recovered by deconvolution of the blurred images with the known kernel function. The technique offers flexibility in the arrangement of the acquired signal data k-lines, and a mechanism for controlling reconstruction quality through the convolution the deconvolution procedure. The technique was validated in phantom and in vivo imaging experiments demonstrating high time reduction factors.  相似文献

The rest period of the coronary arteries has been shown to be on the order of 120–160 msec. Restriction of the acquisition window in breath-hold cardiac-synchronized gadolinium-enhanced imaging to this duration limits the amount of sampled k-space data and hence the information when compared with conventional gadolinium-enhanced imaging. Two techniques for gadolinium-enhanced cardiac-synchronized angiography were implemented that acquire additional data during the unused portions of the cardiac cycle. Data acquisition is synchronized with the heart cycle and is restricted to a short period of each heart cycle. In a single breath-hold, a multi-slab acquisition (n = 5) allowed ECG-synchronized imaging of the entire heart or a CINE acquisition (n = 5) provided multiple stacks of images at different phases in the cardiac cycle over a smaller area. Preliminary results acquired in healthy volunteers and patients with aortic disease indicate that additional information can be acquired without an increase in breath-hold duration or a reduction in image quality.  相似文献

The optical absorption spectra of an α-MnS single crystal and their temperature behavior in the range from 86 to 300 K are investigated for the (100) plane in the energy range from 8×103 to 22×103 cm?1 for the first time. Comparison of these spectra with those for the (111) plane reveals an essential absorption anisotropy in unpolarized light. The anisotropy is manifested in a much stronger splitting of the lowest energy band for the (100) plane in comparison with that for the (111) plane. With decreasing temperature, the splitting becomes smaller. Possible mechanisms for the anisotropy revealed are proposed.  相似文献
