A convenient, fast, efficient, and ecofriendly synthesis of metal‐free phthalocyanines from various substituted phthalonitriles in different hydroxyalkylammonium ionic liquids in the presence of 1,8‐diazabicyclo‐[5,4,0]‐undec‐7‐ene (DBU) is reported in moderate yields. The effect of concentration of DBU and temperature on the synthesis of phthalocyanine in N‐(2‐hydroxyethyl)‐N,N‐dimethylbutylammonium bromide ionic liquid has been examined, and the ionic liquid has been recovered and reused conveniently. 相似文献

A technique which combines image analysis and polarising optical microscope (POM) is a useful tool for the physical investigation of discotic liquid crystals, such as hexabutoxytriphenylene and hexahexyloxytriphenylene. This investigation includes the phase transitions, optical properties and order parameter as a function of temperature. Textures of discotic liquid crystals are captured as a function of temperature using POM. These microscopic textures are analysed using MATLAB software to compute statistical parameters, Legendre moments, optical parameters and order parameters of discotic liquid crystal samples. Compared with other techniques in the literature, the proposed methodology is a reliable and very simple technique for the physical investigation of liquid crystals. 相似文献

AbstractFew conversions cannot take place with ground-state reactions even with the help of a catalyst, therefore they are made to occur under photochemical conditions. The transfer of electrons took place even with the photochemical excitement of one molecule where redox reaction cannot occur at the ground state. The ground-state reactions resulted in the formation of side products. The substrates did not require any sort of chemical activation for C–N bond construction in the course of photochemical reactions. The source of energy; light has always been the interest of researchers in order to induce chemical reactions ever since the starting of scientific chemistry. The present review encloses the chemistry of photochemical transformations with a focus on their synthetic uses. Rational engineering and assimilation of diverse chemo‐ and biocatalytic functionalities in a single nanostructure is highly desired for efficient multistep chemical reactions but has so far remained elusive. Here, we design and synthesize multimodal catalytic nanoreactors (MCNRs) based on a mesoporous metal‐organic framework (MOF). The MCNRs consist of customizable metal nanocrystals and stably anchored enzymes in the mesopores, as well as coordinatively unsaturated cationic metal MOF nodes, all within a single nanoreactor space. The highly intimate and diverse catalytic mesoporous microenvironments and facile accessibility to the active site in the MCNR enables the cooperative and synergistic participation from different chemo‐ and biocatalytic components. This was shown by one‐pot multistep cascade reactions involving a heterogeneous catalytic nitroaldol reaction followed by a [Pd/lipase]‐catalyzed chemoenzymatic dynamic kinetic resolution to yield optically pure (>99 % ee) nitroalcohol derivatives in quantitative yields. 相似文献

Bacteria communicate among themselves using certain chemical signaling molecules. These signaling molecules generally are
N-acyl homoserine lactones (AHLs) in Gram-negative bacteria and oligopeptides in Gram-positive bacteria. In addition, both
Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria produce a family of signaling molecules known as autoinducer-2 that they employ for
their communications. Bacteria coordinate their behavior by releasing and responding to the chemical signaling molecules present
in proportion to their population density. This phenomenon is known as quorum sensing. The role of bacteria in the pathogenesis
of several diseases, including gastrointestinal (GI) disorders, is well established. Moreover, rather recently bacterial quorum
sensing has been implicated in the onset of bacterial pathogenicity. Thus, we hypothesized that the signaling molecules involved
in bacterial communication may serve as potential biomarkers for the diagnosis and management of several bacteria-related
diseases. For that, we previously developed a method based on genetically engineered whole-cell sensing systems for the rapid,
sensitive, cost-effective and quantitative detection of AHLs in biological samples, such as saliva and stool, from both healthy
and diseased individuals with GI disorders. Although various analytical methods, based on physical-chemical techniques and
bacterial whole-cell biosensors, have been developed for the detection of AHLs in the supernatants of bacterial cultures,
only a few of them have been applied to AHL monitoring in real samples. In this paper, we report work performed in our laboratory
and review that from others that describes the detection of AHLs in biological, clinical samples, and report some of our recent

Improved graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) was synthesized through a unique one-step cost-effective technique involving a dynamic gas bubbling phenomenon using ammonium chloride (NH4Cl) as a bubbling agent. An extensive investigation was carried out to optimize the weight ratio of NH4Cl and melamine during the thermal pyrolysis process. Here, we report an improved form of g-C3N4 namely “expanded g-C3N4” with increased interlayer distance and remarkable volume expansion. The surface area of this improved version has notably increased leading to higher photocatalytic efficiency as compared with its counterpart, an synthesized without adding NH4Cl. Synthesized photocatalyst materials were further used to study the Rhodamine B photodegradation under visible light. It was observed that the expanded g-C3N4 showed a 2.4 times higher photodegradation rate than its counterpart and degraded 94% of the dye in just 30 min. 相似文献
