Production of high melt strength polypropylene by gamma irradiation   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
High melt strength polypropylene (HMS-PP) has been recently developed and introduced in the market by the major international producers of polypropylene. Therefore, BRASKEM, the leading Brazilian PP producer, together with EMBRARAD, the leading Brazilian gamma irradiator, and the IPEN (Institute of Nuclear Energy and Research) worked to develop a national technology for the production of HMS-PP. One of the effective approaches to improve melt strength and extensibility is to add chain branches onto polypropylene backbone using gamma radiation. Branching and grafting result from the radical combinations during irradiation process. Crosslinking and main chain scission in the polymer structure are also obtained during this process. In this work, gamma irradiation technique was used to induce chemical changes in commercial polypropylene with two different monomers, Tri-allyl-isocyanurate (TAIC) and Tri-methylolpropane-trimethacrylate (TMPTMA), with concentration ranging from 1.5 to 5.0 mmol/100 g of polypropylene. These samples were irradiated with a 60Co source at dose of 20 kGy. It used two different methods of HMS-PP processing. The crosslinking of modified polymers was studied by measuring gel content melt flow rate and rheological properties like melt strength and drawability. It was observed that the reaction method and the monomer type have influenced the properties. However, the concentration variation of monomer has no effect.  相似文献

Conformational analysis of nucleosides may have direct applications to the structure–activity relationship (SAR) studies and in the design of new drug candidates. Although conformational analysis may be accessed in many different ways, in this work it was performed using molecular dynamics (MD) simulation in order to study the dynamic behavior of a nucleoside derivative of 1,4-dihydro-4-oxoquinoline-3-carboxylic acid, synthesized by our group as a potential antiviral agent. The MD simulation was carried out during 10 ns in vacuum and in a box of water at two different temperatures (i.e., 300 and 600 K) using the AMBER force field. The in vacuum MD simulation results are in agreement with the crystallographic structure and with the DFT calculations of the nucleoside, revealing the anti conformer as the more stable one. The simulation in water, however, shows that both conformers may exist at 300 K, the temperature of the in vivo and in vitro assays, revealing that both the syn and anti conformers should be considered in a MD simulation study of the inhibitor–enzyme complex. Simulations are also in agreement with the NOE experiment, which shows that the anti conformer is the preferential one in DMSO-d6 solution at 298 K.  相似文献

The complexes of 4-chloro-2-methoxybenzoic acid anion with Mn2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+ and Zn2+ were obtained as polycrystalline solids with general formula M(C8H6ClO3)2·nH2O and colours typical for M(II) ions (Mn – slightly pink, Co – pink, Ni – slightly green, Cu – turquoise and Zn – white). The results of elemental, thermal and spectral analyses suggest that compounds of Mn(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) are tetrahydrates whereas those of Co(II) and Ni(II) are pentahydrates. The carboxylate groups in these complexes are monodentate. The hydrates of 4-chloro-2-methoxybenzoates of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) heated in air to 1273 K are dehydrated in one step in the range of 323–411 K and form anhydrous salts which next in the range of 433–1212 K are decomposed to the following oxides: Mn3O4, CoO, NiO and ZnO. The final products of decomposition of Cu(II) complex are CuO and Cu. The solubility value in water at 293 K for all complexes is in the order of 10–3 mol dm–3. The plots of χM vs. temperature of 4-chloro-2-methoxybenzoates of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) follow the Curie–Weiss law. The magnetic moment values of Mn2+, Co2+, Ni2+ and Cu2+ ions in these complexes were determined in the range of 76−303 K and they change from: 5.88–6.04 μB for Mn(C8H6ClO3)2·4H2O, 3.96–4.75 μB for Co(C8H6ClO3)2·5H2O, 2.32–3.02 μB for Ni(C8H6ClO3)2·5H2O and 1.77–1.94 μB for Cu(C8H6ClO3)2·4H2O.  相似文献

A new reagent, 6-[2′-(6′-methyl-benzothiazolylazo)]-1,2-dihydroxy-3,5-benzenedisulfonic acid (Me-BDBD), was synthesised and used in on-line and off-line systems for copper preconcentration by solid-phase extraction. Spectrophotometry and Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (FAAS) were the detection techniques. Polyurethane foam loaded with Me-BDBD packed in a minicolumn was used as sorbent in both systems. The spectral characteristics of Me-BDBD were investigated. The optimum pH values for maximum sorption of the metal are between 7.0 and 8.5. Copper was desorbed with 0.05 and 0.50 mol L−1 hydrochloric acid solutions, for on-line and off-line systems, respectively. The effects of several foreign substances on the adsorption of copper are reported. The enrichment factors obtained were 7 (on-line) and 26 (off-line) for the systems. The proposed procedures allowed the determination of copper with detection limits of 3.4 and 1.4 μg L−1 (0.85 and 0.35 μg per gram of sample) for on-line and off-line systems, respectively. The precision of the procedures was also calculated: 3.2 (on-line) and 1.9% (off-line). The validation of the procedures was carried out by analysis of certified reference material. The copper contents in corn and rice flour and black tea samples were determined by applying the proposed procedures.  相似文献

The identification and structure elucidation of drug metabolites is one of the main objectives in in vitro ADME studies. Typical modern methodologies involve incubation of the drug with subcellular fractions to simulate metabolism followed by LC-MS/MS or LC-MS(n) analysis and chemometric approaches for the extraction of the metabolites. The objective of this work was the software-guided identification and structure elucidation of major and minor buspirone metabolites using capillary LC as a separation technique and ion trap MS(n) as well as electrospray ionization orthogonal acceleration time-of-flight (ESI oaTOF) mass spectrometry as detection techniques.Buspirone mainly underwent hydroxylation, dihydroxylation and N-oxidation in S9 fractions in the presence of phase I co-factors and the corresponding glucuronides were detected in the presence of phase II co-factors. The use of automated ion trap MS/MS data-dependent acquisition combined with a chemometric tool allowed the detection of five small chromatographic peaks of unexpected metabolites that co-eluted with the larger chromatographic peaks of expected metabolites. Using automatic assignment of ion trap MS/MS fragments as well as accurate mass measurements from an ESI oaTOF mass spectrometer, possible structures were postulated for these metabolites that were previously not reported in the literature.  相似文献

A novel strategy for utilization of solid reagents in flow analysis is proposed. Establishment of diffuse and reproducible geometry enables the solid particles to be maintained in constant floating, reflux, and circulating motion inside a mini-chamber. This is efficiently accomplished with pulsed flows, a characteristic of multi-pumping flow systems. Drawbacks inherent in solid-phase packed columns, for example backpressure, preferential pathways, swelling, etc., and some limitations inherent in immobilized reagents are minimised. Spectrophotometric determination of zinc in plants was selected as an application of the technique. Dowex 1-X8 anionic resin was kept freely inside a mini-chamber. Zinc chloro-complexes were adsorbed on the moving particles and derivatization with zincon was performed after elution. Analytical figures of merit and the potential and limitations of the approach are discussed.  相似文献

The implementation of a quality system based on the ISO/IEC 17025:1999 standard is a growing necessity for analytical laboratories to demonstrate their technical competence. In 2001, the Nuclear Analytical Techniques Group of the Argentine Atomic Energy Commission obtained the recognition of the International Atomic Energy Agency in the application of neutron activation analysis and the accreditation by the national accreditation body. The importance of the participation of the group in the Agency's Regional Programme for Latin America, ARCAL XXVI on Quality Assurance in Analytical laboratories is discussed, as well as the activities performed to attain these objectives. Some improvements worth mentioning resulted from the implementation of the quality system and, following the premise of continuous improvement, changes were introduced aiming at the laboratory re-accreditation.  相似文献

The construction and general performance of new valproate-selective electrodes based on manganese(III) tetraphenylporphyrin [Mn(III)TPP-Cl], as an ionophore, are presented. The ionophore was incorporated into PVC and ceramic membranes (sol–gel) based on methyltriethoxysilane. The influence of membrane composition and pH and the effect of lipophilic cationic and anionic additives in PVC membranes were investigated concerning their influence on the slope, response time, selectivity and lifetime of the electrodes. The PVC membrane without additive and the sol–gel membrane presented slopes and practical limits of detection of −60.8 mV dec−1 and 5x10−6 mol l−1 and −60.3 mV dec−1 and 1×10−4 mol l−1, respectively. The sol–gel membranes displayed higher selectivity for valproate when compared with PVC membranes. These two types of electrodes were coupled to a sequential-injection analysis (SIA) system for the direct determination of valproate in pharmaceutical formulations. The association of Mn(III)TPP-Cl with the sol–gel support inserted in a SIA system provided potentiometric sensors with an analytical range of 1x10−3–5x10−2 mol l−1, with a sample rate of 55 samples per hour and a sample and carrier consumption of 140 and 2,500 μl per determination, respectively.  相似文献

Adsorption isotherms of toluene and ethyl benzene, at 25 degrees C and 40 degrees C, were determined in two microporous activated carbons and one zeolite. Significant differences were found in the adsorption behavior, at low pressures, between the two vapors on the same adsorbent material. The quantities of adsorbed ethyl benzene at 25 degrees C, in the low-pressure region, were lower than what was observed at 40 degrees C in all the studied adsorbents, contrary to what was found for toluene. This fact was not related to kinetic effects at the two temperatures nor to vapor swelling of the adsorbents structure. Also, there was no molecular sieving since at high pressures the toluene and ethyl benzene occupied the same adsorption space. The differences found in the ethyl benzene adsorption at the two temperatures pose difficulties in the analysis of the adsorption data and, therefore, in the prediction of results. This is discussed in the analysis of the results with the application of the Dubinin-Astakhov equation and in the estimation of the isosteric heats of adsorption. The adsorption potentials of two possible ethyl benzene conformations were estimated for the adsorption in the pores of activated carbon from the Horvath and Kawazoe model, and the values compared with those found experimentally. The results were interpreted in terms of the ethyl benzene conformation effects when the molecule is confined in pores that are about the same size of one of the conformations.  相似文献
