Localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) excitation of noble metal nanoparticles has been shown to accelerate and drive photochemical reactions. Here, LSPR excitation is shown to enhance the electrocatalysis of a fuel‐cell‐relevant reaction. The electrocatalyst consists of PdxAg alloy nanotubes (NTs), which combine the catalytic activity of Pd toward the methanol oxidation reaction (MOR) and the visible‐light plasmonic response of Ag. The alloy electrocatalyst exhibits enhanced MOR activity under LSPR excitation with significantly higher current densities and a shift to more positive potentials. The modulation of MOR activity is ascribed primarily to hot holes generated by LSPR excitation of the PdxAg NTs. 相似文献

The effect of 4th generation poly(amidoamine) dendrimer (4G PAMAM) present in an anionic phospholipid composition, consisting of hydrogenated soyphosphatidylcholine (HSPC), cholesterol (CH), dicetyl phosphate (DCP), and poly(ethylene glycol) (Mw approximately 2000) derivatized phosphatidylethanolamine (PEG2000-PE), on the hydration and liquid crystalline structure formation was investigated. The optical and polarized light microscopies of the liposomal dispersion obtained from the hydrated lipid composition show two types of birefringent structures (mesophases): plastic, wormlike microstructures and conventional, over-elongated lamellae. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) shows an increase in the liquid crystalline phase transition (Tg) of the lipid composition from 60 to 94 degrees C with increasing 4G PAMAM concentrations from 0 to 0.011 mM, respectively. The Tg values of the two microstructures were 68 and 84 degrees C, respectively, indicating that the plastic microstructures were 4G PAMAM/DCP-complexes-rich (alpha mesophases) and the conventional and elongated lamellae were dendrimer-doped HSPC/CH-rich microstructures (beta mesophases). Optical microscopy shows that the alpha mesophases convert into various other types of vesicular structures such as giant unilamellar vesicles and biliquid foams, upon heating above the phase transition temperature of the lipid composition (approximately 60-65 degrees C). The microstructure transformation is a result of an osmotic influx of water and the detergent action of PEG2000-PE present in the lipid composition. The transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images of the liposomal dispersion show particles embedding circular transparent domains that exactly correlate to the theoretical 4G PAMAM/DCP complex sizes, thus, providing evidence of 4G PAMAM interspersed within the two mesophases. Small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) measurements indicate that the alpha mesophases are a dendrimer-interlinked, symmetrically undulated lamellar phase and the beta mesophases are dendrimer-doped, occasionally kinked lamellae. An increase in dendrimer concentration in the lipid composition was found to decrease interlamellar spacing. On the basis of optical microscopy, DSC, TEM, and SAXS data, a model of dendrimer-doped mesophase structure and lamellae fusion is proposed. This investigation provides new self-assembled materials for drug/gene delivery and supplements the understanding of mechanisms involved in various biological processes such as membrane fusion, transmembrane permeation, and endocytosis. 相似文献

The technique of three-phase partitioning (TPP) was used to purify the green fluorescent protein (GFP) in a single step. TPP uses a combination of ammonium sulphate and tert-butanol to precipitate proteins from their crude extracts. In the first round of TPP with 20% ammonium sulphate saturation at the ratio of crude to tert-butanol 1:1 (v/v), most of the GFP remains in the lower aqueous phase. When subjected to a second round of TPP with 60% ammonium sulphate saturation at the ratio of crude to tert-butanol 1:2 (v/v) gives 78% recovery of GFP with a 20-fold purification. The sodium dodecyl sulphate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoretic (SDS-PAGE) analysis of purified preparation shows single band. The fluorescence excitation and emission spectra agreed with values reported in literature. 相似文献

Seven new pyridine dicarboxamide ligands H2L(1-7) have been synthesised from condensation reactions involving pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid (H2dipic), pyridine-2,6-dicarbonyl dichloride or 2,6-diaminopyridine with heterocyclic amine or carboxylic acid precursors. Crystallographic analyses of N,N'-bis(2-pyridyl)pyridine-2,6-dicarboxamide monohydrate (H2L8 x H2O), N,N'-bis[2-(2-pyridyl)methyl]pyridine-2,6-dicarboxamide and N,N'-bis[2-(2-pyridyl)ethyl]pyridine-2,6-dicarboxamide monohydrate revealed extensive intramolecular hydrogen bonding interactions. 2,6-Bis(pyrazine-2-carboxamido)pyridine (H2L6) and 2,6-bis(pyridine-2-carboxamido)pyridine (H2L7) reacted with copper(II) acetate monohydrate to give tricopper(II) complexes [Cu3(L)2(mu2-OAc)2]. X-Ray crystallography confirmed deprotonation of the amidic nitrogen atoms and that the (L6,7)2- ligands and acetate anions hold three copper(II) ions in approximately linear fashion. H2L8. Reacted with copper(II) tetrakis(pyridine) perchlorate to give [Cu(L8)(OH2)]2 x 2H2O, in which (L8)2- was tridentate through the nitrogen atoms of the central pyridine ring and the deprotonated carboxamide groups at one copper centre, with one of the terminal pyridyl rings coordinating to the other copper atom in the dimer. The corresponding reaction using H2L7 gave [Cu3(L7)2(py)2][ClO4]2, which transformed during an attempted recrystallisation from ethanol under aerobic conditions to a tetracopper(II) complex [Cu4(L7)2(L7-O)2]. 相似文献

The heterostructured Ag nanoparticles decorated Fe3O4 Glutathione (Fe3O4‐Glu‐Ag) nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized by sonicating glutathione (Glu) with magnetite and further surface immobilization of silver NPs on it. The ensuing magnetic nano catalyst is well characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), powder X‐ray diffraction (PXRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The prepared Fe3O4‐Glu‐Ag nanoparticles have proved to be an efficient and recyclable nanocatalyst with low catalyst loading for the reduction of nitroarenes and heteronitroarenes to respective amines in the presence of NaBH4 using water as a green solvent which could be easily separated at the end of a reaction using an external magnet and can be recycled up to 5 runs without any significant loss in catalytic activity. Gram scale study for the reduction of 4‐NP has also being carried out successfully and it has been observed that this method can serve as an efficient protocol for reduction of nitroarenes on industrial level. 相似文献

A novel method for maskless micro-patterning of polymeric substrates is presented. First, an azobenzene functionalized polymer film is spin-coated on a Poly (ethylene terephthalate) (PET) sheet. Then surface relief structures are optically inscribed on the polymer film by interference of laser beams. The patterned azobenzene functionalized film is then etched in the plasma chamber such that the gratings are transferred to the PET substrate. Finally, any remaining azobenzene functionalized polymer is dissolved away using an appropriate solvent. This method of patterning can be broadly applied to a variety of flexible/polymeric substrates and the resolution is not limited by the substrate thermo-mechanical properties. 相似文献

High efficiency and less run time are the basic requirements of high-speed chromatographic separations. To fulfill these requirements, a new separation technique, ultra-performance liquid chromatography (UPLC), has shown promising developments. A rapid, specific, sensitive, and precise reverse-phase UPLC method is developed for the determination of nabumetone in tablet dosage form. In this work, a new isocratic chromatographic method is developed. The newly developed method is applicable for assay determination of the active pharmaceutical ingredient. The chromatographic separation is achieved on a Waters Acquity BEH column (100 mm, i.d., 2.1 mm, 1.7 μm) within a short runtime of 2 min using a mobile phase of 5 mM ammonium acetate-acetonitrile (25:75, v/v), at a flow rate of 0.3 mL/min at an ambient temperature. Quantification is achieved with photodiode array detection at 230 nm, over the concentration range of 0.05-26 μg/mL. Forced degradation studies are also performed for nabumetone bulk drug samples to demonstrate the stability-indicating power of the UPLC method. Comparison of system performance with conventional high-performance liquid chromatography is made with respect to analysis time, efficiency, and sensitivity. The method is validated according to the ICH guidelines and is applied successfully for the determination of nabumetone in tablets. 相似文献

A highly selective and sensitive electrochemical sensor has been developed by modification of a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) with graphene (GRP) for quantification of Rizatriptan. The significant increase of the peak current and the improvement of the oxidation peak potential indicate that the electrochemical sensor facilitates the electron transfer of Rizatriptan. The oxidation peak current was proportional to the Rizatriptan concentration in the range from 100 to 600 µg/mL with detection (LOD) and quantification limit (LOQ) of 36.52 and 121.73 µg/mL, respectively. The developed method was successfully employed for quantification of Rizatriptan in pharmaceutical formulations. The sensor shows great promise for simple, sensitive and quantitative detection of Rizatriptan. 相似文献
