Oxidation of indans and tetralin derivatives to their corresponding indanones and tetralones is of considerable value i n organic synthesis and many methods have been reported for accomplishing this conversion. Traditionally these oxidations are performed with chromic acid in acetic acid and the yields in general are moderate. Recently Eisenbraun4 has studied indetail the benzylic oxidation with the Jones reagent and compared the selectivity and yield of oxidation with other chromium(V1) reagents like bipyridinim chlorochrmate, (BiPCC). The use of serpentine as a potential nuclear shielding material necessitates a chemical quality control of the samples before its use in reactors. With this in view, characterization of these mineral samples was carried out using inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) and Instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA) methods. The analytical results obtained by both ICP-AES and NAA techniques were found to be comparable. Na, Cr, Co, Zn, and Cu were found to be present in all samples of Indian origin while Ga, Ag, Ni, and Cd were found to below the limits of detection. A comparison on the detection limits of elements of interest was also carried out by both the analytical techniques and found to be in good agreement. An infrared spectroscopic investigation was also carried out on all the mineral samples. Bands at 3,689 and 3,648 cm−1 were attributed to inner and outer hydroxyl stretching of Mg–OH, respectively. The weak and broad band centered around 3,416 cm−1 was assigned due to the stretching vibrations of the adsorbed water molecules while three bands at 1076, 1022 and 968 cm−1 were prescribed to the vibrations of the SiO4 tetrahedra.  相似文献

The Biginelli-type compounds 4,5,8a-triarylhexahydropyrimido[4,5-d]pyrimidine-2,7(1H,3H)-diones were synthesized by a one-pot three-component reaction using sulfated tin oxide as a reusable catalyst. Anabolic steroids form one of the important classes of doping agents and their consumption has been found to give benefits to the athletes. Inspite of the fact that they also produce adverse effects and damage several organs and systems, their consumption is continuously increasing in competitive games. The World Anti-Doping Agency and International Olympic Committee have banned the use of anabolic steroids and several other compounds. This article focuses an over view of various chromatographic techniques commonly used for detecting anabolic steroids and their metabolites during last 3 years in human biological fluids to establish the cases of doping. The possibility of electrochemistry- and microchip-based techniques have been considered as possible techniques for future to achieve simple and fast analysis at the site of competitive games as the first tool to detect the cases of doping.  相似文献

A new series of 2,4‐diaryl‐6‐methyl‐5‐nitropyrimidines ( 5a , 5b , 5c , 5d , 5e , 5f , 5g , 5h , 5i ) were synthesized in good yields by Suzuki–Miyaura coupling of 2,4‐dichloro‐6‐methyl‐5‐nitropyrimidine ( 3 ) with various aryl boronic esters ( 4a , 4b , 4c , 4d , 4e , 4f , 4g , 4h , 4i ) in the presence of 1,1′‐ bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene dichloropalladium(II) (Pd(dppf)2Cl2). Further, antibacterial and antioxidant properties were screened for the title compounds 5a , 5b , 5c , 5d , 5e , 5f , 5g , 5h , 5i . Most of the compounds possessed significant activity against Gram‐positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis and Gram‐negative bacteria Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae. The antioxidant activity of the title compounds showed significant antioxidant activity when compared with vitamin C.  相似文献

The chromone alkaloid dysoline (1), a new regioisomer of rohitukine (2) along with rohitukine and rohitukine-N-oxide (3) were isolated from the stem barks of Dysoxylum binectariferum. The structure of dysoline (1) was determined by extensive 2D-NMR studies and the absolute configuration was established by NOESY and CD spectra. Dysoline (1) consisted of a 5,7-dihydroxy-2-methylchromone nucleus substituted with a 2′-hydroxylated N-Me piperidine ring at the C-6 position. Dysoline differs from rohitukine by the position of the piperidine ring on the chromone nucleus. Dysoline displayed promising cytotoxicity in HT1080 fibrosarcoma cells with an IC50 of 0.21 μM, and also displayed significant inhibition of proinflammatory cytokines TNF-α and IL-6.  相似文献

An iron‐based cross‐dehydrogenative coupling (CDC) approach was applied for the diversity‐oriented synthesis of coumestrol‐based selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs), representing the first application of CDC chemistry in natural product synthesis. The first stage of the two‐step synthesis of coumestrol involved a modified aerobic oxidative cross‐coupling between ethyl 2‐(2,4‐dimethoxybenzoyl)acetate and 3‐methoxyphenol, with FeCl3 (10 mol %) as the catalyst. The benzofuran coupling product was then subjected to sequential deprotection and lactonization steps, affording the natural product in 59 % overall yield. Based on this new methodology other coumestrol analogues were prepared, and their effects on the proliferation of the estrogen receptor (ER)‐dependent MCF‐7 and of the ER‐independent MDA‐MB‐231 breast cancer cells were tested. As a result, new types of estrogen receptor ligands having an acetamide group instead of the 9‐hydroxyl group of coumestrol were discovered. Both 9‐acetamido‐coumestrol and 8‐acetamidocoumestrol were found more active than the natural product against estrogen‐dependent MCF‐7 breast cancer cells, with IC50 values of 30 and 9 nM , respectively.  相似文献
