Mo (CO)6‐assisted Pd‐supported magnetic graphene oxide‐catalyzed carbonylation‐cyclization as an efficient way for the synthesis of 4(3H)‐quinazolinones

In this paper, a novel catalyst is introduced based on the immobilization of palladium on modified magnetic graphene oxide nanoparticles. The catalyst is characterized by several methods, including transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X‐ray fluorescence, vibrating‐sample magnetometer, Fourier transform‐infrared and dynamic light scattering (DLS) analysis. The activity of the catalyst was investigated in the synthesis of 4(3H)‐quinazolinones via Pd‐catalyzed carbonylation‐cyclization of N‐(2‐bromoaryl) benzimidamides by Mo (CO)₆. The Mo (CO)₆ is used as a carbon monoxide source for performing the reaction under mild conditions. The catalyst showed good reusability, and no change in activity was observed after 10 cycles of recovery.     

Microwave-Assisted Synthesis of Quinoxalines,Benzoxazines, and Benzothiazines Under Solvent-Free Conditions

The addition of dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylate to o-phenylenediamine, o-aminophenol, and o-aminothiophenol under microwave irradiation in solventless system rapidly afforded quinoxaline, benzoxazine, and benzothiazine derivatives, respectively.     

Synthesis of Thio Analogues of Quinolone Antibacterials

A facile and rapid synthesis of thio compounds, analogues to ciprofloxacin, and norfloxacin is described.     

Silica Sulfuric Acid: A Versatile and Reusable Catalyst for Synthesis of Coumarin-3-carboxylic Acids in a Solventless System

Synthesis of substituted coumarin-3-carboxylic acid via Knoevenagel condensation of meldrum's acid with ortho-hydroxyaryl aldehydes in solventless system is described.     

Novel Synthesis of (+/−)-cis-4-Amino-2-cyclopentene-1-methanol,a Key Intermediate in the Preparation of Carbocyclic 2′,3′-Didehydro-2′,3′-dideoxy Nucleosides

Abstract

Novel synthetic routes directed toward the preparation of (+/?)-cis -4-amino-2-cyclopentene-1-methanol are described. The routes investigated involve azide openings of chiral and non-chiral cyclopentyl epoxides.     

Synthesis and characterization of a Ni nanoparticle stabilized on Ionic liquid‐functionalized magnetic Silica nanoparticles for tandem oxidative reaction of primary alcohols

In this research, preparation of the magnetic nanoparticle, coating by a silica shell using (3‐aminopropyl) triethoxysilane and synthesis of a novel sulfonic acid‐substituted imidazolium‐based ionic liquid onto the surface of these particles via a multi‐component reaction, is described. The functionalized nanoparticles was loaded by Ni nanoparticles and characterized by means of techniques such as XRD, FTIR, SEM, EDX, TEM, TGA and ICP‐OES. The nanostructures have spherical shapes that ranged in size from 80 to 100 nm. The catalytic activity of these nanoparticles was tested in aerobic oxidation of primary alcohols that showed good performance in the wide range of primary alcohols in water at mild reaction conditions. As a second step of this work, the tandem oxidative synthesis of alkylacrylonitriles and bisindolylmethanes were investigated using primary alcohols under oxidation conditions. This catalyst system can be recovered using external magnet and reused for five consecutive cycles without significantly less of its activity.     

SYNTHESIS OF NEW BENZOSULFOXIDE MACROCYCLIC COMPOUNDS

Bis(dibenzosulfoxo)-27,30,35,38-tetramethyl-24-crown-6, bis(dibenzosulfoxo)-21,24,29,32-tetramethyl-18-crown-4, dibenzosulfoxo-15,18-dimethyl-12-crown-3 and dibenzosulfoxo-12,15-dimethyl-9-crown-2 macrocycles are synthesized by the reaction of 2,2′-sulfinyl-bis(4-methyl phenol)and 1,2-dibromoethane and diethyleneglycol di-p-toluenesulfonate.
