This article investigates the effects of variable thermal conductivity and variable mass diffusion coefficient on the transport of heat and mass in the flow of Casson fluid. Numerical simulations for two-dimensional flow induced by stretching surface are performed by using Galerkin finite element method(GFEM) with linear shape functions. After assembly process, nonlinear algebraic equations are linearized through Picard method and resulting linear system is solved iteratively using Gauss Seidal method with simulation tolerance 10~(-8). Maximum value of independent variableη is searched through numerical experiments. Grid independent study was carried out and error analysis is performed.Simulated results are validated by comparing with already published results. Parametric study is carried out to explore the physics of the flow. The concentration increases when mass diffusion coefficient is increased. The concentration and thermal boundary layer thicknesses increase when ?_1 and ? are increased. The effect of generative chemical reaction on concentration is opposite to the effect of destructive chemical reaction on the concentration.  相似文献

A new coumarinolignoid 8'-epi-cleomiscosin A (1) together with the new glycoside 8-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-6-hydroxy-2-methyl-4H-1-benzopyrane-4-one (2) have been isolated from the aerial parts of Rhododendron collettianum and their structures determined on the basis of spectroscopic evidences. Tyrosinase inhibition study of these compounds and their structure-activity relationship (SAR) were also investigated. The compounds exhibited potent to mild inhibition activity against the enzyme. Especially, the compound 1 showed strong inhibition (IC50=1.33 microM) against the enzyme tyrosinase, as compared to the standard tyrosinase inhibitors kojic acid (IC50=16.67 microM) and L-mimosine (IC50=3.68 microM), indicating its potential used for the treatment of hyperpigmentation associated with the high production of melanocytes.  相似文献

Samples of the natural zeolites chabazite, clinoptilolite and a clinoptilolite-rich tuff, were loaded with the isotope 137Cs. Composites of these labeled materials were made with cement and blast furnace slag. Standard leaching experiments were carried out with synthetic sea, ground and "pond" waters, as well as distilled water. Rates of leaching were calculated and compared to similar systems.  相似文献

The wound-healing properties of Plantago major L. (plantain) were evaluated using an ex-vivo porcine wound-healing model. Ethanol- and water-based extracts were prepared from greenhouse-grown and freeze-dried leaves of P. major. Both types of extracts stimulated wound healing in porcine skin, but the ethanol-based extracts had a somewhat stronger effect. A concentration of 1.0 mg/mL (on dry weight basis) produced the best results for both types of extracts.  相似文献

This research work was executed to determine chemical composition, anti-oxidant and anti-microbial potential of the essential oils extracted from the leaves and stem of Daphne mucronata Royle. From leaves and stem oils fifty-one different constituents were identified through GC/MS examination. The antioxidant potential evaluated through DPPH free radical scavenging activity and %-inhibition of peroxidation in linoleic acid system. The stem’s essential oil showed the good antioxidant activity as compared to leaves essential oil. Results of Antimicrobial activity revealed that both stem and leaves oils showed strong activity against Candida albicans with large inhibition zone (22.2?±?0.01, 18.9?±?0.20 mm) and lowest MIC values (0.98?±?0.005, 2.44?±?0.002 mg/mL) respectively. Leaves essential was also active against Escherichia coli with inhibition zone of 8.88?±?0.01 mm and MIC values of 11.2?±?0.40 mg/mL. These results suggested that the plant’s essential oils would be a potential cradle for the natural product based antimicrobial as well as antioxidant agents.

A closed-form model for the computation of the transient temperature and heat flux distribution in the case of a semi-infinite solid of constant properties is investigated. The temperature and heat flux solutions are presented for time-dependent, surface-heat flux of the forms: (i) , (ii) , and (iii) , where is a real number and is a positive real number. The dimensionless (or reduced) temperature and heat flux solutions are presented in terms of the Whittaker function, the generalized representation of an incomplete Gamma functionI (b, x) which can also be expressed by the complementary error functions. It is also demonstrated that the present analysis covers some well known (classical) solutions as well as a family of new solutions for the heat transfer through a semi-infinite solid.
Wärmeleitung in einem halbunendlichen Festkörper bei zeitveränderlichem Randwärmefluß: Eine analytische Untersuchung
Zusammenfassung Es wird ein geschlossenes Modell zur Berechnung der nichtstationären Temperatur- and Wärmestromverteilung für einen halbunendlichen Festkörper mit konstanten Stoffwerten untersucht. Die Lösungen für das Temperatur- und Wärmeflußfeld basieren auf folgenden Zeitgesetzen für den Randwärmefluß: (i) , (ii) , und (iii) wobei eine reelle Zahl und eine positive reelle Zahl ist. Die dimensionslosen Lösungen für das Temperatur- und Wärmflußfeld lassen sich in Form der Whittaker- Funktionen, der verallgemeinerten Darstellung einer unvollständigen Gamma-FunktionI (b, x) angeben, welche auch durch das komplementäre Fehlerintegral ausgedrückt werden kann. Es wird ferner gezeigt, daß die hier durchgeführte Untersuchung sowohl einige bekannte (klassische) Lösungen für die Wärmeleitung im halbunendlichen Festkörper liefert, wie auch eine Familie von neuen Lösungen.

The radical-dependent oxidation of unsaturated fatty acids is a fundamental reaction in lipid chemistry, biochemistry, and technology. We report herein the first successful application of 1H–13C HMBC NMR experiment for the identification and quantification of complex and minor (3.9% to 0.85%) components of cis and trans primary hydroperoxide isomers of oxidized oleate and linoleate methyl esters in solution, without the need of laborious isolation of the individual components.  相似文献

The glass forming ability and magnetic properties of Nd5Fe68 ? xB23Mo4Yx (x = 0, 2, 4, 6) alloys prepared by copper mold casting technique have been studied. Amorphous rods with a diameter of 2 mm were obtained in the Nd5Fe64B23Mo4Y4 alloy. After annealing for 10 min at 1013 K, the Nd5Fe64B23Mo4Y4 alloy showed optimal hard magnetic properties with the coercivity of 764.2 kA/m, remanence of 0.6 T and maximum energy product of 57.3 kJ/m3, respectively. The enhanced magnetic properties can be ascribed to the strong exchange coupling among the magnetically soft α-Fe (25–30 nm), Fe3B (30–35 nm) and hard Nd2Fe14B (40–50 nm) grains present in the magnet microstructure. Large size bulk nanocomposite magnets with sound magnetic properties make the Nd–Fe–B–Mo–Y alloy system a promising candidate for industrial applications.  相似文献

A closed-form model for the second-law-based thermoeconomic optimization of constant cross-sectional area fins, is discussed with an example problem. In this approach, different monetary values are attached to the irreversible losses caused by the finite temperature difference heat transfer (T T ) and pressure drop (T P ) in the fin application. In addition, a simplified closed-form solution is presented for the case when the capital cost of the fin is negligible and only operational costs are considered. To illustrate the usefulness of the present analytical approach, the simplified cost optimized results are compared with the numerical results obtained from Poulikakos and Bejan's analysis, who have assumed same monetary values for T T and T P . Furthermore, the influence of important fin thermal, physical, geometrical and cost parameters on the optimum Reynolds numbers Re Dopt and Re Lopt are presented in algebraic forms, and also graphical results are shown for the case of pin and plate fin, as examples.
