We study the structure and the dynamics in the formation of irreversible gels by means of molecular dynamics simulation of a model system where the gelation transition is due to the random percolation of permanent bonds between neighboring particles. We analyze the heterogeneities of the dynamics in terms of the fluctuations of the self-intermediate scattering functions: in the sol phase close to the percolation threshold, we find that this dynamic susceptibility increases with the time until it reaches a plateau. At the gelation threshold this plateau scales as a function of the wave vector k as k(eta-2), with eta being related to the decay of the percolation pair connectedness function. At the lowest wave vector, approaching the gelation threshold it diverges with the same exponent gamma as the mean cluster size. These findings suggest an alternative way of measuring critical exponents in a system undergoing chemical gelation. 相似文献

We show that the electronic and optical properties of silicon nanowires, with different size and orientation, are dominated by important many-body effects. The electronic and excitonic gaps, calculated within first principles, agree with the available experimental data. Huge excitonic effects, which depend strongly on wire orientation and size, characterize the optical spectra. Modeling porous silicon as a collection of interacting nanowires, we find an absorption spectrum which is in very good agreement with experimental measurements only when the electron-hole interaction is included. 相似文献

A new formulation of a pomegranate-peel extract (PEm) obtained by PUAE (Pulsed Ultrasound-Assisted Extraction) and titrated in both ellagic acid (EA) and punicalagin is proposed, characterized and then analyzed for potential health properties in mice suffering from the experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE). PEm effects were compared to those elicited by a formulation containing EA (EAm). Control and EAE mice were chronically administered EAm and Pem dissolved in the drinking water, starting from the day 10 post-immunization (d.p.i.), with a “therapeutic” protocol to deliver daily 50 mg/kg of EA. Treated EAE mice did not limit their daily access to the beverage, nor did they show changes in body weight, but they displayed a significant amelioration of “in vivo” clinical symptoms. “Ex vivo” histochemical analysis showed that spinal-cord demyelination and inflammation in PEm and EAm-treated EAE mice at 23 ± 1 d.p.i. were comparable to those in the untreated EAE animals, while microglia activation (measured as Ionized Calcium Binding Adaptor 1, Iba1 staining) and astrocytosis (quantified as glial fibrillar acid protein, GFAP immunopositivity) significantly recovered, particularly in the gray matter. EAm and PEm displayed comparable efficiencies in controlling the spinal pathological cellular hallmarks in EAE mice, and this would support their delivery as dietary supplementation in patients suffering from multiple sclerosis (MS). 相似文献

A stereodivergent synthesis of enantiomerically pure E-nor-15-azayohimbines via condensation of tryptamine with derivatives of pyroglutamate 4 is reported. When the Pictet-Spengler reaction was induced in refluxing aqueous AcOH a nearly equimolar ratio of lactams 7 and 8 was obtained, whereas under kinetic control (TFA, room temperature) the trans-derivative 8 was the major product. We have frozen the coherent evolution of a field in a cavity by repeated measurements of its photon number. We use circular Rydberg atoms dispersively coupled to the cavity mode for an absorption-free photon counting. These measurements inhibit the growth of a field injected in the cavity by a classical source. This manifestation of the quantum Zeno effect illustrates the backaction of the photon number determination onto the field phase. The residual growth of the field can be seen as a random walk of its amplitude in the two-dimensional phase space. This experiment sheds light onto the measurement process and opens perspectives for active quantum feedback. 相似文献

Structural-acoustic interaction is a topic of increasing interest in the study of vehicle noise control. During recent years particular attention has been devoted towards analytical and numerical methods for the analysis of acoustic problems of complex shaped cavities. Among them non-local methods are very appropriate for the low and medium frequency range. The integral formulation of the Helmholtz equation allows the sound pressure level, radiated by a vibrating panel, to be determined. The method may be used to account for the acoustic structural coupling and can be straightforwardly extended to consider interconnected cavities, internal vibrating panels, internal barriers and absorbing materials. Comparisons with experimental results as well as with modal methods are presented which show satisfactory agreement. 相似文献

In this paper we present some results concerning the median points of a discrete set according to a distance defined by means
of two directions p and q . We describe a local characterization of the median points and show how these points can be determined from the projections
of the discrete set along directions p and q . We prove that the discrete sets having some connectivity properties have at most four median points according to a linear
distance, and if there are four median points they form a parallelogram. Finally, we show that the 4-connected sets which
are convex along the diagonal directions contain their median points along these directions.
