Super Riemann surfaces of genus 1, with arbitrary spin structures, are shown to be the sets of zeroes of certain polynomial equations in projective superspace. We conjecture that the same is true for arbitrary genus. Properties of superelliptic functions and super theta functions are discussed. Summary A series of methylphenylphosphinate {mpp; [-O-P-Ph(Me)-O-]} complexes of the forms M(mpp)3 (M = Al, Ga, In, Sc, Y, Dy, Ti, V, Cr and Fe) and M(mpp)4 (M = Th or U) were made from the appropriate metal chloride and a large excess of MeO(Me)PhP(O) at elevated temperatures. Structures involving linear, ligand-bridged polymeric species are suggested on the basis of the i.r. and magnetic data.  相似文献

We use the DNR framework to analyze a classroom episode introducing negative integer exponents, comparing and contrasting our analysis with Sfard's recent commognitive analysis of a similar episode concerning multiplication of signed numbers. Students in both episodes objected to the standard rules for integer products or exponents, and they persisted in preferring their own rules even after the teacher justified the standard ones. We examine how pattern-based justifications may not address students’ intellectual needs, and we suggest other pedagogical strategies that promote student reasoning.  相似文献

Special considerations and techniques are desired for the preparation of small actinide counting sources. Counting sources have been prepared on metal disk substrates (planchets) with an active area of only 0.079 mm2. This represents a 93.75% reduction in deposition area from standard electrodeposition methods. The actinide distribution upon the smaller planchet must remain thin and uniform to allow alpha particle emissions to escape the counting source with a minimal amount of self-attenuation. This work describes the development of micro-electrodeposition methods and optimization of the technique with respect to deposition time and current density for various planchet sizes.  相似文献

Black hole thermodynamics, confined to the semi-classical regime, cannot address the thermodynamic stability of a black hole in flat space. Here we show that inclusion of a correction beyond the semi-classical approximation makes a black hole thermodynamically stable. This stability is reached through a phase transition. By using Ehrenfest’s scheme we further prove that this is a glassy phase transition with a Prigogine–Defay ratio close to 3. This value is well within the desired bound (2 to 5) for a glassy phase transition. Thus our analysis indicates a very close connection between the phase transition phenomena of a black hole and glass forming systems. Finally, we discuss the robustness of our results by considering different normalisations for the correction term.  相似文献

We show that the diffeomorphism anomaly together with the trace anomaly reveal a chiral Virasoro algebra near the event horizon of a black hole. This algebra is the same irrespective of whether the anomaly is covariant or consistent, thereby manifesting its universal character and the fact that only the outgoing modes are relevant near the horizon. Our analysis therefore clarifies the role of the trace anomaly in the diffeomorphism anomaly approach [Robinson and Wilczek in Phys. Rev. Lett. 95:011303, 2005; Iso et al. in Phys. Rev. Lett. 96:151302, 2006; Banerjee and Kulkarni in Phys. Rev. D 77:024018, 2008; Gangopadhyay and Kulkarni in Phys. Rev. D 77:024038, 2008] to the Hawking radiation.  相似文献

We give a correction to the tunneling probability by taking into account the back reaction effect to the metric of the black hole spacetime. We then show how this gives rise to the modifications in the semiclassical black hole entropy and Hawking temperature. We obtain, using a reformulation of the tunneling mechanism, the Hawking black body spectrum with the appropriate temperature for a black hole. This is a new result in the tunneling formalism of discussing Hawking effect. Our results are given for a spherically symmetric geometry that is asymptotically flat.  相似文献

We compute the corrections, using the tunneling formalism based on a quantum WKB approach, to the Hawking temperature and Bekenstein–Hawking entropy for the Schwarzschild black hole. The results are related to the trace anomaly and are shown to be equivalent to findings inferred from Hawking's original calculation based on path integrals using zeta function regularization. Finally, exploiting the corrected temperature and periodicity arguments we also find the modification to the original Schwarzschild metric which captures the effect of quantum corrections.  相似文献
