The palladium-catalyzed allylic substitution of 5-vinyloxazolidinones and derivatives was investigated. Unusual and high regioselectivity for the branched product was observed. The regioselectivity was influenced by the type of substrate, the solvents, and the nucleophile. Imide-type nucleophiles were found to be directed to the internal carbon (branched:linear, 75:25 to >98:2), whereas sulfonamides, amines, and malonates added only to the terminal carbon of the allyl complex. Relatively nonpolar solvents such as toluene and THF favored the branched product (97:3 and 95:5, respectively). Acetonitrile and dichloromethane afforded lower regioselectivity (50:50 and 67:33, respectively), and the use of the protic solvent ethanol resulted in reversal of the regioselectivity (12:88). The directing group on the substrate was important. Amides afforded almost complete formation of the branched product, and carbamates gave a 50:50 mixture of regioisomers with phthalimide as the nucleophile. Evidence for direction of the nucleophile via hydrogen bonding was obtained by replacing the hydrogen of the amide with a methyl, resulting in the production of only the normal linear product. 相似文献

Protein folding involves the aminoacid sequence to come forth and form an energy minimized structure. Recently molecular crowding leading to increase in viscosity is said to be one of the major concerns affecting protein folding. Many external fluorescent probes are used to detect such increases in viscosity. Since most of the protein sequences contain L-Phe and L-Trp, in this study we have used these aminoacids as probes to detect changes in viscosity. 〈110〉, 〈010〉 and 〈100〉 oriented uniaxial benzophenone crystals were grown by uniaxially solution‐crystallization method of Sankaranarayanan ‐ Ramasamy (SR). The experimental parameters involved in the present study were investigated in detail and a constant growth rate was achieved by compensating the loss of growth units in the solution. A transparent uniaxial benzophenone crystal having dimension of 500 mm length and 55 mm diameter was grown at room temperature for the first time in the literature. In contrast to the conventional solution growth method, the growth rate along each direction was measured at ease during the respective growth experiment by monitoring the elevation of the solid‐liquid interface and found to be 2, 4 and 6 mm/day along the 〈110〉, 〈010〉 and 〈100〉 directions respectively for a chosen supersaturation. An unidirectional 60mm diameter benzophenone single crystal was successfully grown by utilizing a novel crystal growth method at room temperature. <110> oriented single crystal ingots were grown out of xylene as solvent and by fixing a seed at the bottom of the ampoule. The obtained benzophenone ingots with the sizes of 10mm, 25mm and 60mm diameter evident that ease in increasing the diameter of the ingot. The orientation of the ingot and the crystalline quality were justified by X‐ray studies. TG and DTA evaluated the thermal properties of the grown crystal. The optical transmission study and the powder SHG measurement show the suitability of the ingot for nonlinear optical applications. The achieved solute‐crystal conversion efficiency of hundred percent shows vital advantage of this technique for cost effectiveness. The microbial growth as in the case of amino acid based growth solutions can be more effectively controlled in the present method since the freshly prepared growth solution can be constantly made available to the growing crystal. © 2006 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. The present study focused on the green synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using Arachis hypogaea (ground nut) root extract for the antibacterial and clinical application. The presence of major phytochemical compounds are found to be 2H-Pyaran,2,5-diethenyltetrahydro, Didodecyl phthalate, Decanoic acid, Tetradecanoic acid, Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate, Dodecanoic acid, Phosphonic acid, 2-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-5-(4-methoxynaphthyl) thiophene and Methyl 2-(N-Benzylimino)-4-chloro-3,3-dimethylbutanoate by GC–MS. Nanoparticles synthesis is confirmed by UV–Vis analysis by observing the maximum absorption spectrum at 450 nm. XRD and SEM–EDX results reveals the synthesized nanoparticles are cubic crystalline with agglomerated particles of silver oxide with biomolecules present around it. TEM images clearly shows that the biosynthesized nanoparticles are mostly spherical and irregular shaped with an average particles size of 30 nm. Highest susceptibility pattern of silver nanoparticle against Enterococcus sp. (35 ± 0.4 mm) which followed by Pseudomonas sp. (33 mm) and Staphylococcus aureus (29 mm). Green synthesized nanoparticles are coated over the commercially available clinical band aid cloth by dip coating method. Silver nanoparticle incorporated band aid cloth showed good antibacterial activity against the harmful bacteria which usually cause infection and interfere during wound healing.
