In this work, we consider an alternative approach for the measurement of adsorption from the liquid phase. Consider a mixture consisting of a non-adsorbed component (B) and an adsorbed component (A) present at some low concentration. Initially, a feed of component B only flows through a column packed with an adsorbent. Then, the feed is switched to the mixture of A and B. As soon as the mixture enters the column, there will be a reduction in the outlet flow rate as component A leaves the liquid phase and passes into the adsorbed phase. There are three stages to this work. The first is to develop overall and component balances to show how the amount adsorbed of component A can be determined from the variation in the column outlet flow rate. The second is to determine the actual variation in the column outlet flow rate for both plug flow and axial-dispersed plug flow. The final stage is to consider the suitability of a gravity-fed system to deliver the feed to the column. An analysis of the results shows that the experimental arrangement should be able to accurately monitor adsorption from the liquid phase where the mass fraction of the solute is of the order of 1%: the limiting experimental factor is how constant the volumetric flow rate of the liquid feed can be maintained. 相似文献

The radionuclide phosphorus-32 has been usud to measure the effects of (I) temperature, (2) time of standing, (3) stirring, (4) the molybdate-phosphate ratio, (5) hydrochloric, sulphuric, nitric and perchloric acids, and (6) ammonium nitrate on the efficiency of precipitation of ammonium l 2-molybdophosphate,The precipitate is formed quantitatively after 30 min at any temperature between 50° and 80° followed by 30 min at room temperature' provided that the liquid is stirred at 15-min intervals. Twice the stoichiometric amount of nitromolybdate reagent is sufficient for quantitative precipitation. Nitric add is essential ; perchloric acid does not interfere, but hydrochloric and sulphuric acids do. Ammonium nitrate does not affect the efficiency of the precipitation, 相似文献

In this work, carbon xerogels with a high pore volume and surface area (up to 2.58 cm3/g and 3200 m2/g respectively) have been synthesized using the sol-gel polycondensation of resorcinol (R) with formaldehyde (F) in a basic
medium of monoethanolamine (MEA), followed by drying and pyrolysis. This medium (MEA) has not been used in previous investigations.
The effect of activation with CO2 on the pore size distribution and the chemical functional groups has been investigated using N2 (77 K) adsorption, FTIR and elemental analysis techniques. A series of experiments has been conducted to investigate the
effect of activation time and activation temperature. Activation of the samples was carried out at 850, 900 and 980 °C for
times ranging from one to three hours. Within the range of activation conditions, an increase in activation time at 850 °C
results in a continuous steady rise of the BET surface area and total pore volume. However, at the two higher temperatures,
the surface area shows a maximum when plotted against activation time. FT-IR results show that the use of MEA as a catalyst
leads to the formation of nitrogen functional groups in the surface of the resin. 相似文献

The aim of this paper is to give generalized weighted Morrey estimates for the boundedness of Marcinkiewicz integrals with rough kernel associated with Schr?dinger operator and their commutators.Moreover, the boundedness of the commutator operators formed by BMO functions and Marcinkiewicz integrals with rough kernel associated with Schr?dinger operators is discussed on the generalized weighted Morrey spaces. As its special cases, the corresponding results of Marcinkiewicz integrals with rough kernel associated with Schr?dinger operator and their commutators have been deduced, respectively. Also, Marcinkiewicz integral operators, rough Hardy-Littlewood(H-L for short) maximal operators, Bochner-Riesz means and parametric Marcinkiewicz integral operators which satisfy the conditions of our main results can be considered as some examples. 相似文献
