A quotient curve of the Fermat curve of degree twenty-three attaining the Serre bound

The curve in the title is a non-maximal curve of genus 11, which has a defining equation analogous to the Klein quartic's. We study its properties and show how to apply it to coding theory.     

Nanosecond-time-resolved infrared spectroscopic study of fast relaxation kinetics of protein folding by means of laser-induced temperature-jump

Elucidating the initial kinetics of folding pathways is critical to the understanding of the protein folding mechanism. Transient infrared spectroscopy has proved a powerful tool to probe the folding kinetics. Herein we report the construction of a nanosecond laser-induced temperature-jump （T-jump） technique coupled to a nanosecond timeresolved transient mid-infrared （mid-IR） spectrometer system capable of investigating the protein folding kinetics with a temporal resolution of 50 ns after deconvolution of the instrumental response function. The mid-IR source is a liquid N2 cooled CO laser covering a spectral range of 5.0μm （2000 cm^-1）-6.5μm （1540 cm^-1）. The heating pulse was generated by a high pressure H2 Raman shifter at wavelength of 1.9μm. The maximum temperature-jump could reach as high as 26±1℃. The fast folding/unfolding dynamics of cytochrome C was investigated by the constructed system, providing an example.     

关于猝灭问题的一些结果及其应用

本文研究一类含奇异项的半线性抛物方程的初边值问题,给出了该问题的古典解整体存在或发生猝灭现象的判据以及猝灭解的生命跨度估计。同时,还用上述结果研究了一类含超Sobolev临界指标的半线性椭圆方程的Dirichlet边值问题,获得了正解的存在性结果。     

Induced electronic interactions in Chern-Simons systems

The induced electronic interactions in (1+2)-dimensional vector Chern-Simons systems are studied by means of path-integral quantization. We consider four cases: relativistic, and nonrelativistic fermion Maxwell-Chern-Simons models, and relativistic and nonrelativistic fermion Chern-Simons models. It is shown that the Chern-Simons term may induce exotic electronic interactions which can be local or nonlocal and small Chern-Simons coupling may have a considerable effect in some cases.     

Time dependent critical fluctuations of a one dimensional local mean field model

Summary One-dimensional stochastic Ising systems with a local mean field interaction (Kac potential) are investigated. It is shown that near the critical temperature of the equilibrium (Gibbs) distribution the time dependent process admits a scaling limit given by a nonlinear stochastic PDE. The initial conditions of this approximation theorem are then verified for equilibrium states when the temperature goes to its critical value in a suitable way. Earlier results of Bertini-Presutti-Rüdiger-Saada are improved, the proof is based on an energy inequality obtained by coupling the Glauber dynamics to its voter type, linear approximation.     

Synthesis and biological activity of novel N‐benzoyl‐N‐tert‐butyl‐N′‐(β‐triphenylgermyl)propionylhydrazines

A series of new N‐benzoyl‐N‐tert‐butyl‐N′‐(β‐triphenylgermyl)propionylhydrazines were synthesized by the condensation reaction of β‐triphenylgermyl propanoic acid with N‐benzoyl‐N‐tert‐butylhydrazines in good yields by using N,N′‐dicyclohexylcorbodiimide as dehydrating agent. These title compounds were evaluated for molting hormone mimicking activity. The results of bioassay showed that the compounds exhibit moderate larvicidal activity, and toxicity assays indicated that the title compounds can induce a premature, abnormal and lethal larval molt. We found that the title compounds possess potential anticancer activities in vitro. Copyright © 2002 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
