Atomic coherence in nondegenerate four-wave mixing

Two-photon resonant nondegenerate four-wave mixing (NFWM) with the addition of a coupling field in Ba atomic vapour has been studied. We find that coherence of the atomic level transitions leads to suppression of the NFWM signal, giving rise to a dip with a linewidth that is linearly proportional to the intensity of the coupling field.     

Solvent and electric field dependence of the photocurrent generation in donor：acceptor blend system

This paper reports that the blend films of poly (2-methoxy-5-(2'-ethyl-hexyloxy)-p-phenylene vinylene) (MEH-PPV) and N,N'-bis(1-ethylpropyl)-3,4: 9,10-perylene bis (tetracarboxyl diimide) (EP-PDI) with the weight ratio of 1:2.5 have been prepared by spin-coating from chloroform (CF) and chlorobenzene (CB) solutions respectively. The absorption spectra and the morphology of the blend films show that large crystal-like EP-PDI aggregates are formed in film prepared from CB solution, which corresponds to a new absorption shoulder near 590nm, while there is no shoulder around 590\,nm in the UV--Vis absorption spectra of the blend film from CF solution. The electric-field dependence spectra of the photocurrent generation quantum yield of the film from CB solution shows that at weak electric field the EP-PDI aggregates act as more efficient sensitizers, but at strong electric field the quantum yields become almost invariable over the entire spectral range no matter what the state of EP-PDI, monomer or aggregate. At strong electric field, the photocurrent generation yields of both films from CF and CB solution saturate and their yield spectra become spectrally similar, mentioning that at strong electric field the photoexcitons dissociate efficiently and the free charges are collected by the electrodes almost completely.     

利用射线追踪法研究超短外腔半导体激光器的输出特性

基于射线追踪法，推导了外腔半导体激光器的连续输出谱的隐函表达式.在此基础上，结合载流子速率方程，对超短外腔半导体激光器的输出谱及P-I特性进行了研究.结果表明：当外腔长度发生波长量级的变化时，超短外腔激光器的P-I特性将发生显著变化；随着外腔长度的变化，超短外腔激光器的激射波长在10nm范围内呈周期性跳变，当外腔长度介于40μm—70μm范围内，激射波长跳变范围最大.理论模拟结果与实验报道结果符合.     

Evidence for an oxygen diffusion model for the electric pulse induced resistance change effect in transition-metal oxides

Electric-pulse induced resistance hysteresis switching loops for Pr0.7Ca0.3MnO3 perovskite oxide films were found to exhibit an additional sharp "shuttle tail" peak around the negative pulse maximum for films deposited in an oxygen-deficient ambient. The resistance relaxation in time of this "shuttle tail" peak as well as resistance relaxation in the transition regions of the resistance hysteresis loop show evidence of oxygen diffusion under electric pulsing, and support a proposed oxygen diffusion model with oxygen vacancy pileup at the metal electrode interface region as the active process for the nonvolatile resistance switching effect in transition-metal oxides.     

高压下MgO的热弹性研究

利用第一原理平面波赝势方法和广义梯度近似研究了广泛温度和压强范围内MgO的热弹性特性．MgO从低压NaCl到高压CsCl结构的相变压强为397 GPa，表明它在地球内部不会发生相变．在压强上升到150 GPa时，MgO的绝热弹性模量跟0 GPa时的实验值和其他赝势在高压下的计算结果基本一致．从0 GPa上升到20 GPa时，MgO的各向异性逐渐减小；在20?150 GPa时绝对值逐渐增大．MgO明显地违背了Cauchy条件，反应出非中心多体力是重要的．另外，MgO的热力学参量与实验也符合的很好．     

N2+分子离子A2∏u-X2∑+g 系(2,0)带光外差速度调制光谱

采用光外差速度调制光谱技术研究了N2+分子离子A2∏u-X2∑+g 系(2,0)带转动光谱．由于所用技术的高灵敏度特性，精确地确定了该带310条谱线的频率，其中，那些重叠谱线的频率也通过解谱精确地确定了．利用标准Hamilton量，采用非线性最小二乘方法对该带进行了分析，获得了最精确的分子常数．     

Magnetic,electrical transport and electron spin resonance studies of Fe-doped manganite LaMn0.7Fe0.3O3+δ

We have investigated the magnetic, electrical transport and electron spin resonance (ESR) properties of polycrystalline Fe-doped manganite LaMn_0.7Fe_0.3O_3+δ prepared by sol–gel method. A typical cluster-glass feature is presented by DC magnetization and AC susceptibility measurements and a sharp but shallow memory effect was observed. Symmetrical Lorentzian lines of the Mn/Fe spectra were detected above 120 K, where the sample is a paramagnetic (PM) insulator. When the temperature decreases from 120 K, magnetic clusters contributed from ferromagnetic (FM) interaction between Mn³⁺ and Mn³⁺/Fe³⁺ ions develop and coexist with PM phase. At lower temperature, these FM clusters compete with antiferromagnetic (AFM) ones between Fe³⁺ ions, which are associated with a distinct field-cooled (FC) effect in characteristic of cluster-glass state.     

Phase correlation of foreign exchange time series

Correlation of foreign exchange rates in currency markets is investigated based on the empirical data of USD/DEM and USD/JPY exchange rates for a period from February 1 1986 to December 31 1996. The return of exchange time series is first decomposed into a number of intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) by the empirical mode decomposition method. The instantaneous phases of the resultant IMFs calculated by the Hilbert transform are then used to characterize the behaviors of pricing transmissions, and the correlation is probed by measuring the phase differences between two IMFs in the same order. From the distribution of phase differences, our results show explicitly that the correlations are stronger in daily time scale than in longer time scales. The demonstration for the correlations in periods of 1986–1989 and 1990–1993 indicates two exchange rates in the former period were more correlated than in the latter period. The result is consistent with the observations from the cross-correlation calculation.     

Exact solutions for KdV system equations hierarchy

Exact solutions for KdV system equations hierarchy are obtained by using the inverse scattering transform. Exact solutions of isospectral KdV hierarchy, nonisospectral KdV hierarchies and τ$\tau$-equations related to the KdV spectral problem are obtained by reduction. The interaction of two solitons is investigated.     

Highly efficient high-power thulium-doped germanate glass fiber laser

A 64 W fiber laser at 1.9 microm with a slope efficiency of 68% with respect to the launching pump power at 800 nm was demonstrated in a one-end pump configuration using a piece of 20 cm long newly developed thulium-doped germanate glass double-cladding single-mode fiber. A quantum efficiency of 1.8 was achieved. An output laser power of 104 W at 1.9 microm was demonstrated from a piece of 40 cm long fiber with a dual-end pump configuration.
