A method for the determination of methylmercury (MeHg) fluxes across the air–water and air–soil interfaces was developed using an in situ chamber. The MeHg in the air coming out of the chamber was captured by a column containing sulfhydryl cotton fiber adsorbent. MeHg was then desorbed from the column by using 2 mol L–1 HCl. The MeHg in the effluent was extracted with benzene, and determined by gas chromatography with electron capture detection. Finally, the MeHg flux was calculated using the chamber. The method was applied to simulated experiments, and the results showed that the MeHg fluxes in the air–water system were higher than those in the air–soil–water system. The method was also successfully applied to the field measurements of an environment polluted by a chemical factory, and the results showed that the MeHg fluxes across the air–soil and air–water interfaces were 0.21–3.09 and 0.14–0.79 ng m–2 h–1, respectively. The method will be a useful tool in the environmental study of MeHg. 相似文献

Nanocrystalline spinel CuAl2O4 powders were prepared by sol-gel method from nitrate Cu(NO3)2·3H2O, Al(NO3)3·9H2O and complex C6H8O7·H2O. Sintering was carried out at 400, 500, 600, 700, 800°C respectively for 2 h in air. The XRD patterns started to appear
CuAl2O4 peaks after sintering of 500°C and consist of only CuAl2O4 peaks as spinel crystal after sintering of 700°C. The powders were analyzed by TEM and UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectrum
to be round, about 10–30 nm in size and Eg=1.77 eV. Photodegradation property of nanocrystalline CuAl2O4 powders was investigated by using methyl orange as model pollutant and mercury lamp (λ>400 nm) as energy source. The results
indicated that CuAl2O4 powders sintered at 700°C had the excellent visible photocatalytic property. Under the irradiation of visible light, methyl

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)‐polyacrylate core–shell nanoparticles were produced by using PTFE micropowder and acrylate via seeded emulsion polymerization in the presence of fluorosurfactant. The properties of emulsion under various polymerization conditions were investigated and optimized. The chemical composition of the PTFE‐polyacrylate nanoparticles was characterized by Fourier‐transform infrared spectrometry (FTIR). The particle size and core–shell structure of the resulting PTFE‐polyacrylate nanoparticles were confirmed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Wettability of the PTFE‐polyacrylate core–shell particles was higher than the pristine PTFE. The formation of this kind of PTFE‐polyacrylate core–shell nanoparticles could improve the compatibility of PTFE with other materials because PTFE is covered by polyacrylate shell, which make them promising in various fields. Sanguinarine, a commercial drug exhibiting antimicrobial and antitumor properties, was studied with respect to its basic photochemical characteristics and also with regard to its phototoxicity to mosquito larvae (Aedes atropalpus). Sanguinarine proved to be clearly phototoxic to larvae, with an LD50 of 0.096 mg/mL with near UV exposure as compared with 23.3 mg/mL without. Flash photolysis experiments enabled the study of the triplet state of sanguinarine to be undertaken. Quenching by oxygen occurs with a rate constant of 6 x 10(9) M-1s-1 and time-resolved emission studies indicate that sanguinarine produces a significant amount of singlet oxygen (phi delta = 0.16) as does the isoquinoline alkaloid, berberine (phi delta = 0.25). These values represent the first direct quantitative measurements of photosensitization parameters of these compounds. Additionally, sanguinarine exhibits efficient electron donation properties, undergoing reaction with methyl viologen with a rate constant greater than 10(10) M-1s-1, but is a poor electron acceptor. Phototoxicity of sanguinarine can thus be explained in terms of its photosensitization properties. 相似文献

In recent years, extensive efforts have been made to find nonformaldehyde durable press finishes to replace the traditional
formaldehyde-based reagents for producing wrinkle-free cotton fabrics. 1,2,3,4-butanetetracarboxylic acid (BTCA) has been
the most effective nonformaldehyde crosslinking agent. Our previous research has indicated that a polycarboxylic acid esterifies
cellulose in two steps: the formation of a 5-membered cyclic anhydride intermediate by the dehydration of two adjacent carboxyl
groups, and the reaction between cellulose and the anhydride intermediate to form an ester linkage. In this research, we used
Fourier transform infrared and Fourier transform Raman spectroscopy to study the formation of cyclic anhydride intermediates
by BTCA and other polycarboxylic acids without the presence of a catalyst. We found that BTCA and other polycarboxylic acids
in a crystalline state start to form 5-membered cyclic carboxylic anhydrides when the temperature reaches the vicinity of
their melting points with the exception of bifunctional acids, which form cyclic anhydrides at temperatures much higher than
their melting points. Intermolecular hydrogen bonding between carboxylic acid groups prevents the formation of the cyclic
anhydride intermediates at lower temperatures. We also found that polycarboxylic acids in an amorphous state form cyclic anhydrides
