An intermolecular Pd/PPh3‐catalyzed transesterification of diallyl carbonate with glycerol to generate glycerol carbonate has been developed. Analysis of the reaction kinetics in THF indicates a first‐order dependence on Pd and diallyl carbonate, that the Pd bears two phosphines during the turnover limiting event, and that increasing the glycerol concentration inhibits reaction, possibly via change in the polarity of the medium. 13C isotopic labeling studies demonstrate that the Pd‐catalyzed transesterification requires at least one allyl carbonate moiety and that there is rapid equilibrium of the allyl carbonate with CO2 in solution, even when present only at low concentrations. A mechanism that is consistent with these results involves oxidative addition of the allyl carbonate to Pd followed by reversible decarboxylation, with the intermediate η1‐ and η3‐allyl Pd alkoxides mediating direct and indirect transesterification reactions with the glycerol. Using this model, successful simulations of the kinetics of reactions conducted under atmospheres of N2 or CO2 could be achieved, including switching in selectivity between etherification and transesterification in the early stages of reaction. Reactions with the higher polyols threitol and erythritol are also efficient, generating the terminal (1,2) monocarbonates with high selectivity. 相似文献

Density functional theory calculations (B3LYP) have been carried out to investigate the 4π‐electron systems of 2,4‐disila‐1,3‐diphosphacyclobutadiene (compound 1 ) and the tetrasilacyclobutadiene dication (compound 2 ). The calculated nucleus‐independent chemical shift (NICS) values for these two compounds are negative, which indicates that the core rings of compounds 1 and 2 have a certain amount of aromaticity. However, deep electronic analysis reveals that neither of these two formal 4π‐electron four‐membered ring systems is aromatic. Compound 1 has very weak, almost negligible antiaromaticity, and the amidinate ligands attached to the Si atoms play an important role in stabilizing this conjugated 4π‐electron system. The monoanionic bidentate ligand interacts with the conjugated π system to cause π‐orbital splitting. This ligand‐induced π‐orbital splitting effect provides an opportunity to manipulate the gap between occupied and unoccupied π orbitals in conjugated systems. Conversely, compound 2 is nonaromatic because its core ring does not have a conjugated π ring system and does not fulfill the requirements of a Hückel system. 相似文献

Dithiobisphthalimide is used as a new precursor for the spontaneous deposition of sulfur on gold surfaces in acetonitrile. Characterization of the modified surfaces is achieved using X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), electrochemistry and scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). The reported results indicate that the sulfur deposition is an efficient and fast process and that high coverages can be reached very quickly. Sequential high‐resolution STM in air allows the direct observation, for the first time, of the mobility of the usually observed rectangular structures as individual units. It also shows the reversible association/dissociation of these rectangles. The nature of these structures is highly debated in the literature and the present work provides new insights into their nature through the use of a new sulfur precursor under non‐traditional conditions. To explain our results we consider these structures as simple sulfur adlayers on the gold surface. 相似文献

A systematic series of heteroleptic bis(tridentate)ruthenium(II) complexes of click‐derived 1,3‐bis(1,2,3‐triazol‐4‐yl)benzene N^C^N‐coordinating ligands was synthesized, analyzed by single crystal X‐ray diffraction, investigated photophysically and electrochemically, and studied by computational methods. The presented comprehensive characterization allows a more detailed understanding of the radiationless deactivation mechanisms. Furthermore, we provide a fully optimized synthesis and systematic variations towards redox‐matched, broadly and intensely absorbing, cyclometalated ruthenium(II) complexes. Most of them show a weak room‐temperature emission and a prolonged excited‐state lifetime. They display a broad absorption up to 700 nm and high molar extinction coefficients up to 20 000 M ?1 cm?1 of the metal‐to‐ligand charge transfer bands, resulting in a black color. Thus, the complexes reveal great potential for dye‐sensitized solar‐cell applications. 相似文献

The late transition metal catalyzed rearrangement of propargyl acetates offers an interesting platform for the development of synthetically useful transformations. We have recently shown that gold complexes can catalyze a highly selective tandem 1,2‐/1,2‐bis‐acetoxy migration in 1,4‐bis‐propargyl acetates to form 2,3‐bis‐acetoxy‐1,3‐dienes. In this way, (1Z,3Z)‐ or (1Z,3E)‐ and (1E,3Z)‐1,3‐dienes could be obtained in a stereocontrolled manner depending on the electronic and steric features of the ancillary ligand bound to gold and the substituents at the propargylic positions. In this work, we report an experimental study on the scope of this transformation, plus a detailed theoretical examination of the reaction mechanism, which has revealed the key features responsible for the reaction stereoselectivity. Synthetic applications towards the one‐pot synthesis of quinoxaline heterocycles and tandem Diels–Alder processes have also been devised. 相似文献

Multinuclear (31P and 79/81Br), multifield (9.4, 11.75, and 21.1 T) solid‐state nuclear magnetic resonance experiments are performed for seven phosphonium bromides bearing the triphenylphosphonium cation, a molecular scaffold found in many applications in chemistry. This is undertaken to fully characterise their bromine electric field gradient (EFG) tensors, as well as the chemical shift (CS) tensors of both the halogen and the phosphorus nuclei, providing a rare and novel insight into the local electronic environments surrounding them. New crystal structures, obtained from single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction, are reported for six compounds to aid in the interpretation of the NMR data. Among them is a new structure of BrPPh4, because the previously reported one was inconsistent with our magnetic resonance data, thereby demonstrating how NMR data of non‐standard nuclei can correct or improve X‐ray diffraction data. Our results indicate that, despite sizable quadrupolar interactions, 79/81Br magnetic resonance spectroscopy is a powerful characterisation tool that allows for the differentiation between chemically similar bromine sites, as shown through the range in the characteristic NMR parameters. 35/37Cl solid‐state NMR data, obtained for an analogous phosphonium chloride sample, provide insight into the relationship between unit cell volume, nuclear quadrupolar coupling constants, and Sternheimer antishielding factors. The experimental findings are complemented by gauge‐including projector‐augmented wave (GIPAW) DFT calculations, which substantiate our experimentally determined strong dependence of the largest component of the bromine CS tensor, δ11, on the shortest Br? P distance in the crystal structure, a finding that has possible application in the field of NMR crystallography. This trend is explained in terms of Ramsey’s theory on paramagnetic shielding. Overall, this work demonstrates how careful NMR studies of underexploited exotic nuclides, such as 79/81Br, can afford insights into structure and bonding environments in the solid state. 相似文献

The Schiff base derived from salicylaldehyde and 2‐amino‐3‐hydroxypyridine affords a diversity of solid forms, two polymorphic pairs of the enol‐imino ( D1 a and D1 b ) and keto‐amino ( D2 a and D2 b ) desmotropes. The isolated phases, identified by IR spectroscopy, X‐ray crystallography, and 13C cross‐polarization/magnetic angle spinning (CP/MAS) NMR spectroscopy, display essentially planar molecular conformations characterized by strong intramolecular hydrogen bonds of the O? H???N ( D1 ) or N? H???O ( D2 ) type. A change in the position of the proton within this O???H???N system is accompanied by substantially different molecular conformations and, subsequently, by divergent supramolecular architectures. The appearance and interconversion conditions for each of the four phases have been established on the basis of a number of solution and solvent‐free experiments, and evaluated against the results of computational studies. Solid phases readily convert into the most stable form ( D1 a ) upon exposure to methanol vapor, heating, or by mechanical treatment, and these transformations are accompanied by a change in the color of the sample. The course of thermally induced transformations has been monitored in detail by means of temperature‐resolved powder X‐ray diffraction and infrared spectroscopy. Upon dissolution, all forms equilibrate immediately, as confirmed by NMR and UV/Vis spectroscopy in several solvents, with the equilibrium shifted far towards the enol tautomer. This study reveals the significance of peripheral groups in the stabilization of metastable tautomers in the solid state. 相似文献

The construction and precise control of the face‐to‐face π‐stacked arrangements of anthracene fluorophores in the crystalline state led to a remarkable red shift in the fluorescence spectrum due to unprecedented excited oligomer formation. The arrangements were regulated by using organic salts including anthracene‐1,5‐disulfonic acid (1,5‐ADS) and a variety of aliphatic amines. Because of the smaller number of hydrogen atoms at the edge positions and the steric effect of the sulfonate groups, 1,5‐ADS should prefer face‐to‐face π‐stacked arrangements over the usual edge‐to‐face herringbone arrangement. Indeed, as the alkyl substituents were lengthened, the organic salts altered their anthracene arrangement to give two‐dimensional (2D) edge‐to‐face and end‐to‐face herringbone arrangements, one‐dimensional (1D) face‐to‐face zigzag and slipped stacking arrangements, a lateral 1D face‐to‐face arrangement like part of a brick wall, and a discrete monomer arrangement. The monomer arrangement behaved as a dilute solution even in the close‐packed solid state to emit deep blue light. The 1D face‐to‐face zigzag and slipped stacking of the anthracene fluorophores caused a red shift of 30–40 nm in the fluorescence emission with respect to the discrete arrangement, probably owing to ground‐state associations. On the other hand, the 2D end‐to‐face stacking induced a larger red shift of 60 nm, which is attributed to the excimer fluorescence. Surprisingly, the brick‐like lateral face‐to‐face arrangement afforded a remarkable red shift of 150 nm to give yellow fluorescence. This anomalous red shift is probably due to excited oligomer formation in such a lateral 1D arrangement according to the long fluorescence lifetime and little shift in the excitation spectrum. The regulation of the π‐stacked arrangement of anthracene fluorophores enabled the wide modulation of the fluorescence and a detailed investigation of the relationships between the photophysical properties and the arrangements. 相似文献

The spontaneous in situ formation of one‐dimensional (1D) assemblies of gold nanoparticles (NP) in oleylamine/bis(2‐ethylhexyl) sulfosuccinate sodium salt/water/octane (OAm/AOT/w/o) microemulsions by exploiting both the aurophilic bonding between OAm and gold salt, and the interactions between OAm and AOT surfactant is presented. Control on the structure of the resulting assemblies is achieved by changing in the solvent quality, the [Au]/[AOT] molar ratio and the presence of different cosolutes. A possible mechanism of the formation of the 1D parallel Au NP arrays is proposed. 相似文献
