1,2,4,5-Tetracyanobenzene (TCNB), a moderate electron acceptor, reacts readily with N,N,N′,N′-tetramethyl-p-phenylenediamine (TMPD), a strong electron donor, to form black colored TMPD:TCNB complex when treated in 1:1 molar ratio. Single crystal X-ray diffraction studies on this complex showed that molecule of TMPD and TCNB are alternately stacked with an interplanar distance of 3.4 Å between them. The structure of the complex does not seem to show usual π–π interaction between the two aromatic rings, but indicates the presence of n–π interaction localized between the nitrogen atoms of TMPD and the cyano groups of TCNB. Along with this a prominent presence of CN···HAr hydrogen bonded ribbon network between nitrogen of cyanide moiety and hydrogen of neighboring aromatic carbon is observed with distance of 2.610 Å and angle of 147.19°. Magnetic measurements on the powdered compound using SQUID magnetometer (5–20 K) showed that the complex is weakly antiferromagnetic (θ = ?0.85 K). To my best knowledge CN···HAr interaction amongst electron acceptor molecules, to form a ribbon-like network, has not been observed before for a magnetic complex.  相似文献

Abstract  

Crystal structures of two bis-phenols namely bis-(3,5-dimethyl-2-hydroxyphenyl)(3-amino phenyl)methane 1 and bis-(3,5-dimethyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)(3-aminophenyl) methane 2 are determined. The compound 1 crystallises in monoclinic P21/c with a = 12.2579(16) ?, b = 16.0906(19) ?, c = 10.6664(13) ?, β = 115.417(7)°, V = 1900.2(4) ?3 whereas 2 crystallizes in monoclinic C2/c, a = 9.2538(2) ?, b = 18.6579(4) ?, c = 23.2725(5) ?, β = 98.796(2)°, V = 3970.89(15) ?3. The crystal lattice of both the compounds shows presence of N–H···π interactions but no O–H···π interactions.  相似文献

The interference fragmentation function translates the fragmentation of a quark with a transverse projection of the spin into an azimuthal asymmetry of two final-state hadrons. In e(+)e(-) annihilation the product of two interference fragmentation functions is measured. We report nonzero asymmetries for pairs of charge-ordered π(+)π(-) pairs, which indicate a significant interference fragmentation function in this channel. The results are obtained from a 672 fb(-1) data sample that contains 711 × 10(6) π(+)π(-) pairs and was collected at and near the Υ(4S) resonance, with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider.  相似文献

One-dimensional non-equilibrium systems with short-range interaction can undergo phase transitions from homogeneous states to phase separated states as interaction (?) among particles is increased. One of the model systems where such a transition has been observed is the extended Katz-Lebowitz-Spohn (KLS) model with ferromagnetically interacting particles at ?=4/5. Here, the system remains homogeneous for small interaction strength (?<4/5), and for anti-ferromagnetic interactions (?<0). We show that the phase separation transitions can also occur in anti-ferromagnetic systems if interaction among particles depends explicitly on the size of the block (n) they belong to. We study this transition in detail for a specific case ?=δ/n, where phase separation occurs for δ<−1.  相似文献

Swift heavy ions (SHI) with electronic energy loss exceeding a value of 14.4 keVnm−1 create amorphized latent tracks in YBCO type superconductors. In the low fluence regime of an ion beam where tracks do not overlap, a decrease of the superconducting transition temperature as probed through resistivity studies, is not expected due to availability of percolating current paths. The present study however shows Tc decrease by about 1–3 K in thin films of YBCO when irradiated by 250 MeVAg ions at 79 K at a fluence of 5×1010–1×1012 ionscm−2. The highest fluence used in the present study is three times less than the fluence where track overlapping becomes significant. The Tc tends to increase towards the preirradiation value on annealing the films at room temperature. To explain this unusual result, we consider the effect of ion irradiation in inducing materials modification not only through creation of amorphized latent tracks along the ion path, but also through creation of atomic disorder in the oxygen sublattice in the Cu–O chains of YBCO by the secondary electrons. These electrons are emitted radially from the tracks during the passage of the SHI. Considering the correlation between the charge state of copper and its oxygen coordination, we show in particular that the latter process is a consequence of the inelastic interaction of the SHI induced low-energy secondary electrons with the YBCO lattice, which result in chain oxygen disorder and Tc decrease.  相似文献

A convenient approach to the synthesis of 2-amino-4,6-diphenylnicotinonitriles via four-component reaction of aromatic aldehydes, acetophenone derivatives, malononitrile and ammonium acetate is described. The reactions were done in water as solvent using cellulose sulfuric acid as catalyst. A fully quantum mechanical density-matrix formalism of stimulated Raman scattering is presented. The effects of atomic motion, non-linear parameters and loss are included. The equations are solved to fourth-order in atom-field coupling constant. The steady-state Stokes-photon distribution is studied. A study of an approximate time-dependent case is also discussed. The results show that only a fraction of incident pump photons can be converted to Stokes photons.  相似文献
