The Co(III) complexes of N,N'-bis(2-mercaptophenyl)pyridine-2,6-dicarboxamide (PyPSH(4)), a designed pentadentate ligand with built-in carboxamide and thiolate groups, have been synthesized and studied to gain insight into the role of Cys-S oxidation in Co-containing nitrile hydratase (Co-NHase). Reaction of [Co(NH(3))(5)Cl]Cl(2) with PyPS(4)(-) in DMF affords the thiolato-bridged dimeric Co(III) complex (Et(4)N)(2)[Co(2)(PyPS)(2)] (1). Although the bridged structure is quite robust, reaction of (Et(4)N)(CN) with 1 in acetonitrile affords the monomeric species (Et(4)N)(2)[Co(PyPS)(CN)] (2). Oxidation of 2 with H(2)O(2) in acetonitrile gives rise to a mixture which, upon chromatographic purification, yields K(2)[Co(PyPSO(2)(OSO(2))(CN] (3), a species containing asymmetrically oxidized thiolates. The Co(III) metal center in 3 is coordinated to a S-bound sulfinate and an O-bound sulfonate (OSO(2)) group. Upon oxidation with H(2)O(2), 1 affords an asymmetrically oxidized dimer (Et(4)N)(2)[Co(2)(PyPS(SO(2)))(2)] (4) in which only the terminal thiolates are oxidized to form S-bound sulfinate groups while the bridging thiolates remain unchanged. The thiolato-bridge in 4 is also cleaved upon reaction with (Et(4)N)(CN) in acetonitrile, and one obtains (Et(4)N)(2)[Co(PyPS(SO(2)))(CN)] (5), a species that contains both coordinated thiolate and S-bound sulfinate around Co(III). The structures of 1-4 have been determined. The spectroscopic properties and reactivity of all the complexes have been studied to understand the behavior of the Co(III) site in Co-NHase. Unlike typical Co(III) complexes with bound CN(-) ligands, the Co(III) centers in 2 and 5 are labile and rapidly lose CN(-) in aqueous solutions. Since 3 does not show this lability, it appears that at least one thiolato sulfur donor is required in the first coordination sphere for the Co(III) center in such species to exhibit lability. Both 2 and 5 are converted to the aqua complexes [Co(PyPS)(H(2)O)](-) and [Co(PyPS(SO(2))(H(2)O)](-) in aqueous solutions. The pK(a) values of the bound water in these two species, determined by spectrophotometry, are 8.3 +/- 0.03 and 7.2 +/- 0.06, respectively. Oxidation of the thiolato sulfur (to sulfinate) therefore increases the acidity of the bound water. Since 2 and 5 promote hydrolysis of acetonitrile at pH values above their corresponding pK(a) values, it is also evident that a metal-bound hydroxide is a key player in the mechanism of hydrolysis by these model complexes of Co-NHase. The required presence of a Cys-sulfinic residue and one water molecule at the Co(III) site of Co-NHase as well as the optimal pH of the enzyme near 7 suggests that (i) modulation of the pK(a) of the bound water molecule at the active site of the enzyme could be one role of the oxidized Cys-S residue(s) and (ii) a cobalt-bound hydroxide could be responsible for the hydrolysis of nitriles by Co-NHase.  相似文献

Previous work on monatomic spherical sorbates has shown the existence of an anomalous peak in self-diffusivity (D) when plotted as a function of size of the diffusant. Molecular dynamics studies on linear molecules of different lengths l in zeolite NaY at 140 and 200 K are reported. It is seen that there is a peak in D as a function of l, suggesting that the levitation effect exists for linear molecules, the simplest member of polyatomics. This is confirmed by the lowering of the activation energy for the molecule whose length l exhibits highest D. Related quantities of interest such as the guest-host interaction energy and preexponential factor are discussed.  相似文献

In this present investigation, we describe the steady state current voltage (I–V) characteristic of Crystal violet dye dispersed solid state photoelectrochemical cell (PEC). Typical behavior of dark current-voltage characteristic by increasing and decreasing external bias voltage has a similar form like hysterisis in nature. Although we have already observed this hysterisis nature in case of both forward and reverse bias condition, yet it is clear that the reverse hysterisis curve is more prominent than forward hysterisis. In this paper, we are getting double values of current (I) for a single value voltage, which is also helpful to understand the charge transport process through disordered materials. As the bias increases, the distribution of traps depth, which is exponential in nature, changes toward order state (resulting increase in disordered parameter α) This means that as α increases, it tends to reach the most order state of material. When external bias voltage is at 3.5 V, the value of disorder parameter becomes 1, and when bias voltage is beyond 3.5 V, the diffusion comes enhanced in nature.  相似文献

Basic alumina supported solvent-free one-pot synthesis of pyridine-fused polycyclic diazepaniums was achieved under microwave irradiation. The process was successfully extended to the synthesis of pyridine-fused bicyclic imidazolidiniums and tetrahydro-pyrimidiniums and also of tri- and tetracyclic diaza-heterocycle-fused quinoliniums. The dual characteristic of basic alumina, a solid support as well as a base, was successfully employed in the current investigation. The method emerged to be an effective route in terms of product yield, reaction time, and ease of purification and most importantly for environment friendly protocols.  相似文献

A new Co(II) complex of general formula [Co(L)2] has been synthesized from a NNO tridentate Schiff base ligand, 2-[(piperidin-2-ylmethylimino)-methyl]-phenol (L). The title complex is characterized by elemental, spectroscopic, antibacterial, and single crystal X-ray structural studies. X-Ray crystallography reveals that the complex shows a distorted octahedral geometry around the Co(II) ion. The complex was tested against several bacteria and shows good antibacterial activities against almost all of the bacteria. The interactions of the title complex with calf thymus deoxyribonucleic acid (CT-DNA) have been investigated by electronic absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy, showing that the complex interacts with CT-DNA via partial intercalation. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) of the complex has also been reported and the result shows that the complex is thermally stable up to 134 °C.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of new meso-substituted unsymmetrical metalloporphyrins has been described. A new modified Adler method was used for the synthesis of two unsymmetrical porphyrins. Reactions of these unsymmetrical porphyrins with metal acetates afforded the corresponding metalloporphyrins in high yields with excellent purity. These porphyrins and their metal derivatives were characterized by spectroscopic methods. However, the copper complexes were further studied by ESR spectra and zinc complex by fluorescence spectrum.  相似文献

Two new copper(II) complexes, [Cu2(L1)2](ClO4)2 (1) and [Cu(L2)(ClO4)] (2), of the highly unsymmetrical tetradentate (N3O) Schiff base ligands HL1 and HL2 (where HL1 = N-(2-hydroxyacetophenone)-bis-3-aminopropylamine and HL2 = N-(salicyldehydine)-bis-3-aminopropylamine) have been synthesised using a template method. Their single crystal X-ray structures show that in complex 1 two independent copper(II) centers are doubly bridged through phenoxo-O atoms (O1A and O1B) of the two ligands and each copper atom is five-coordinated with a distorted square pyramidal geometry. The asymmetric unit of complex 2 consists of two crystallographically independent N-(salicylidene)-bis(aminopropyl)amine-copper(II) molecules, A and B, with similar square pyramidal geometries. Cryomagnetic susceptibility measurements (5–300 K) on complex 1 reveal a distinct antiferromagnetic interaction with J = ?23.6 cm?1, which is substantiated by a DFT calculation (J = ?27.6 cm?1) using the B3LYP functional. Complex 1, immobilized over highly ordered hexagonal mesoporous silica, shows moderate catalytic activity for the epoxidation of cyclohexene and styrene in the presence of TBHP as an oxidant.  相似文献

An environmentally benign protocol has been described for the synthesis of novel 2-(1′,3′-dihydro-1H-[2,3′]biindolyl-2′-ylidene)-indan-1,3-diones/bis-indolylindane-1,3-diones from ninhydrin and 3-substituted/unsubstituted indoles. It uses montmorillonite K-10 as catalyst in a solvent-free condition under microwave irradiation. Abstract  

The structural aspects of one-dimensional coordination polymer (1) of nickel(II) with 1,3,5-benzene tricarboxylate and a three-dimensional interpenetrating coordination polymer (2) of zinc(II) with 1,4-benzenedicarboxylate ligand are studied by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Coordination polymer (1) forms a hydrogen bonded three dimensional network structures. The coordination polymer 1 having a composition [Ni3(TMA)2(H2O)12] n where (TMA = trimesate anion), crystallizes in monoclinic crystal system with C2 space group and has a/?, 17.3387(4); b/?, 12.8748(4); c/?, 6.5302(2); β/°111.620(2); V/?3, 1355.20(7). The zinc coordination polymer 2 crystal system is orthorhombic, with space group Pbca. It has a/?, 14.5049(3); b/?, 17.1616(3); c/?, 18.1389(4); V/?3, 4515.27(16). The 1,4-benzenedicarboxylate three dimensional coordination polymer of zinc(II) comprises of novel hydroxo bridged tetranuclear zinc(II) secondary building units and has a composition [Zn2(C6H4C2O4)1.5{(CH3)2SO}2(OH)] n . Topological analysis of the three dimensional coordination polymer 2 shows that it has a two fold interpenetrating net topology.  相似文献
