On photooxygenation (methylene blue as sensitizer) of E/Z enecarbamates, equipped with the oxazolidinone chiral auxiliary, the oxidative cleavage of the alkenyl functionality releases the enantiomerically enriched methyldesoxybenzoin (MDB) product. The extent (% ee) as well as the sense (R vs S) of the stereoselectivity in the MDB formation depends on the choice of the alkene configuration; the efficacy of stereocontrol may be tuned by appropriate solvent and temperature conditions. Highlighted is the finding that the formation of the preferred MDB enantiomer (R or S) depends for the E isomer on the chosen solvent and temperature, but not for the corresponding Z isomer. The activation parameters for the various solvents disclose that differential entropy effects (ΔΔS‡) dominate the conformationally more flexible E diastereomers. As mechanistic rationale for this unprecedented conformationally imposed stereochemical behavior, we propose the competitive action of stereoselective vibrational quenching of the attacking singlet oxygen by the enecarbamate versus sterically controlled stereoselective oxidative cleavage of its double bond. 相似文献

Four luminescent ruthenium(II) polypyridine estradiol complexes [Ru(NwedgeN)2(bpy-estradiol)](PF6)2 (NwedgeN = 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy), 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline (Ph2-phen); bpy-estradiol = 5-(4-(17alpha-ethynylestradiolyl)phenyl)-2,2'-bipyridine (bpy-ph-est), 4-(N-(6-(4-(17alpha-ethynylestradiolyl)benzoylamino)hexyl)aminomethyl)-4'-methyl-2,2'-bipyridine (mbpy-C6-est)) have been designed as new luminescent biological probes. The lipophilicity and photophysical and electrochemical properties of these complexes have been investigated. Upon photoexcitation, all the complexes exhibited intense and long-lived triplet metal-to-ligand charge-transfer (3MLCT) (dpi(Ru) --> pi*(diimine)) emission in fluid solutions at 298 K and in low-temperature glass. The binding of the complexes to estrogen receptor-alpha (ERalpha) has been studied by emission titrations. The Ph2-phen complexes showed emission enhancement and increased lifetimes upon binding to the protein. Additionally, the cytotoxicity of the complexes toward the HeLa cell line has been examined by the 3-(4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay and the IC50 values ranged from 83.1 to 166.6 microM (cisplatin showed an IC50 value of 34.3 microM under the same experimental conditions). The dynamics of liquid-vapor phase-change in the nanosecond time-scale induced by pulsed-laser heating of a liquid on a solid sample is studied by means of optical reflectance and scattering measurements, and the piezoelectric detection technique. The liquids studied include water, ethanol, methanol, IsoproPropyl Alcohol (IPA), and mixtures of water and IPA. The threshold fluence for nucleation is determined with high accuracy using the optical and acoustic signals. Heat diffusion calculations performed for the threshold fluences indicate that the liquids are sufficiently superheated before nucleation sets on. The transient optical reflectance signal is analyzed by an effective-medium theory to provide bubble-growth kinetics, so that the bubble-growth velocity for the test liquids could be estimated. In addition, it is observed that, following the thermally induced nucleation, repetitive acoustic cavitation at the surface of the solid sample occurs, with a time interval related to the speed of sound in the liquid. 相似文献

Many of the applications of compressed sensing have been based on variable density sampling, where certain sections of the sampling coefficients are sampled more densely. Furthermore, it has been observed that these sampling schemes are dependent not only on sparsity but also on the sparsity structure of the underlying signal. This paper extends the result of Adcock, Hansen, Poon and Roman (arXiv:1302.0561, 2013) [2] to the case where the sparsifying system forms a tight frame. By dividing the sampling coefficients into levels, our main result will describe how the amount of subsampling in each level is determined by the local coherences between the sampling and sparsifying operators and the localized level sparsities – the sparsity in each level under the sparsifying operator. 相似文献

The compressive response of fully dense and 10 vol% porous Ti2AlC MAX phase materials subjected to quasi-static uniaxial and cyclic loading including their repeatable hysteretic behavior is presented. Damage accumulation in the form of kink bands and microcracking is characterized using ultrasonics and scanning electron microscopy under different levels of compressive loading. The observations and measurements are correlated quantitatively using a model based on friction between the crack faces, which is the main dissipation process. The model is shown to capture the hysteretic behavior of Ti2AlC MAX phase and quantitatively reproduce the experimentally measured stress–strain curves. 相似文献
