Automatic segmentation and classification of color images is a problem of great practical interest in different areas. This
paper presents an algorithm for this purpose which is divided in three steps. Firstly, the regions of interest are isolated
from the rest of the image based on threshold functions defined in theYUV andYIQ color spaces, producing a set of connected components. Then, a set of features is computed to enable a quantitative evaluation
of the segmented objects. Finally, the image is classified by means of a decision rule based on the analysis of the differences
between the computed measures and a set of ideally segmented images, according to experts’ assessment. The algorithm was applied
to a decision support tool for estrus detection in cattle. This approach constitutes a valuable alternative to improve this
process, as it may replace the visual observation by the automatic analysis of pictures taken to cows in controlled environments.
Experimental results show that the segmentations obtained with this method are highly satisfactory and they allow a precise

Ternary Ti-Si-N refractory barrier films of 15 nm thick was prepared by low frequency, high density, inductively coupled plasma implantation of N into TixSiy substrate. This leads to the formation of Ti-N and Si-N compounds in the ternary film. Diffusion of copper in the barrier layer after annealing treatment at various temperatures was investigated using time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometer (ToF-SIMS) depth profiling, X-ray diffractometer (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) and sheet resistance measurement. The current study found that barrier failure did not occur until 650 °C annealing for 30 min. The failure occurs by the diffusion of copper into the Ti-Si-N film to form Cu-Ti and Cu-N compounds. FESEM surface morphology and EDX show that copper compounds were formed on the ridge areas of the Ti-Si-N film. The sheet resistance verifies the diffusion of Cu into the Ti-Si-N film; there is a sudden drop in the resistance with Cu compound formation. This finding provides a simple and effective method of monitoring Cu diffusion in TiN-based diffusion barriers. 相似文献

Structural, magnetic and magnetostrictive properties of Tb0.4Nd0.6(Fe0.8Co0.2) x (1.50 ≤ x ≤ 1.90) alloys have been investigated by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), a vibrating sample magnetometer and a standard strain technique. XRD analysis shows the presence of single Laves phase with a cubic MgCu2-type structure for the high Nd content alloy around the composition of x = 1.80, which tends to be formed by curing at relatively low annealing temperature. The easy direction of magnetization at room temperature is observed toward <111> axis, accompanied by a rhombohedral distortion with a large spontaneous magnetostriction λ111. An optimized effect on the linear anisotropic magnetostriction, 360 ppm at 3 kOe, was observed for the high Nd content Tb0.4Nd0.6(Fe0.8Co0.2)1.80 alloy, which can be attributed to its single Laves phase, the large λ111 (~1,520 ppm) of the MgCu2-type (Tb,Nd)(Fe,Co)2 phase and the good soft magnetic behaviors. 相似文献

We report the development of an external cavity quantum cascade laser spectrometer at 7.5 μm. The quantum cascade laser and its anti-reflection coating were specially developed for this application. We provide details of the external cavity design and data processing. A continuous wave emission is demonstrated from 1,293 up to 1,350 cm?1. The results of the calculation of the detection efficiency of gamma-rays for the xenon gamma spectrometer (XGS) obtained using the GEANT4 Monte Carlo simulation are presented. The gamma spectra of the set of basic standard gamma-sources (OSGI) are analyzed for a real detector, and the calculated and actual detection efficiencies are compared. The XGS spectra are analyzed to determine the minimum concentration of the 152Eu radio nuclide in the 137Cs and 60Co mixture. It is shown that the xenon gamma spectrometer is capable of detecting the isotope at concentrations above 40% in the mixture. 相似文献

The eigenfunctions of nested wells with an incommensurate boundary geometry, in both the hydrodynamic shallow water regime and quantum cases, are systematically and exhaustively studied in this Letter. The boundary arrangement of the nested wells consists of polygonal ones, square or hexagonal, with a concentric immersed, similar but rotated, well or plateau. A rich taxonomy of wave patterns, such as quasicrystalline states, their crystalline rational approximants, and some other exotic but well known tilings, is found in these mimicked experiments. To the best of our knowledge, these hydrodynamic rational approximants are presented here for the first time in a hydrodynamic-quantum framework. The corresponding statistical nature of the energy level spacing distribution reflects this taxonomy by changing the spectral types. 相似文献

The effect of γ-ray irradiation on the magnetic properties of NdFeB and Fe–Cr–Co permanent magnets has been investigated. The magnetic flux loss of two kinds of magnets before and after irradiation was measured. Results show that the effect of γ-ray irradiation on the magnetic properties of sintered NdFeB is not so obvious as that on Fe–Cr–Co magnet. Irradiation-induced damage from γ-ray for the Fe–Cr–Co magnets was characterized for the first time. The decline of permanent magnetic properties of Fe–Cr–Co magnet induced by γ-ray irradiation is reversible except for the maximum energy product (BH)max. The difference of coercivity mechanism between these two kinds of permanent magnets is responsible for the different dependence of magnetic properties loss induced by γ-ray irradiation. 相似文献

The present work considers the application of oxide semiconductors in the conversion of solar energy into the chemical energy required for water purification (removal of microbial cells and toxic organic compounds from water) and the generation of solar hydrogen fuel by photoelectrochemical water splitting. The first part of this work considers the concept of solar energy conversion by oxide semiconductors and the key performance-related properties, including electronic structure, charge transport, flat band potential and surface properties, which are responsible to the reactivity and photoreactivity of oxides with water. The performance of oxide systems for solar energy conversion is briefly considered in terms of an electronic factor. The progress of research in the formation of systems with high performance is considered in terms of specific aspects of nanotechnology, leading to the formation of systems with high performance. The nanotechnology approach in the development of high-performance photocatalysts is considered in terms of the effect of surface energy associated with the formation of nanostructured system on the formation of surface structures that exhibit outstanding properties. The unresolved problems that should be tackled in better understanding of the effect of nanostructures on properties and performance of oxide semiconductors in solar energy conversion are discussed. This part is summarised by a list of unresolved problems of crucial importance in the formation of systems with enhanced performance. This work also formulates the questions that must be addressed in order to overcome the hurdles in the formation of oxide semiconductors with high performance in water purification and the generation of solar fuel. The research strategy in the development of oxide systems with high performance, including photocatalysts for solar water purification and photoelectrodes for photoelectrochemical water splitting, is considered. The considerations are focused on the systems based on titanium dioxide of different defect disorder as well as its solid solutions and composites. 相似文献
