The organic functional groups, formyl, cyano, hydroxymethyl and methylsulfenyl, are oxidized with high yields in water only by using TBHP and controlling the pH of the reaction medium. A theoretical investigation has been carried out on the propagation of non-linear ion-acoustic shock waves (IASHWs) in a magnetized degenerate quantum plasma system composed of inertial non-relativistic positively charged light and heavy ions, inertialess non-relativistically or ultra-relativistically degenerate electrons and positrons. The reductive perturbation method has been employed to derive the Burgers' equation. It has been observed that under consideration, our plasma model supports only positive potential shock structure. It is also found that the amplitude and steepness of the IASHWs have been significantly modified by the variation of ion kinematic viscosity, oblique angle, number density, and charge state of the plasma species. The results of our present investigation will be helpful for understanding the propagation of IASHWs in white dwarfs and neutron stars. 相似文献

Three methods for determining a 'safe' estimate for high-mass limits of MALDI spectra of coal derived liquids were explored, using a sample of coal-tar pitch and its pyridine-insoluble fraction. Co-addition of increasing numbers of single-shot spectra (10, 30, 50 and 100 pulses) showed visually observable reductions in noise levels, consistent with robust and statistically meaningful signals. Three separate types of post-acquisition calculation were used to identify high-mass limits of the spectra. (i) A literature method indicated high-mass limits similar to those observed visually-as a shift from baseline at the highest masses, nearly 350 000 u for the coal tar pitch and about 390 000 u for its pyridine insoluble fraction. (ii) Comparing instrument signal with pre-selected multiples of the standard deviation, upper mass estimates of between 40-60 000 u for the coal-tar pitch and about 95 000 u for its pyridine-insoluble fraction were found. (iii) Calculation of the slope was used to identify 'lift-off' of the spectrum from baseline. The angle between the smoothed spectrum and the baseline was matched to a pre-selected value (e.g. 0.5 degrees and 1 degrees ). However, the arbitrary specification of the key parameter did not establish this last method on a firm basis. The choice of a criterion for estimating high-mass limits of MALDI spectra remains a semi-quantitative procedure; a reasonably conservative high-mass limit may be estimated by comparison of signal with five times the standard deviation. However, evaluation of size exclusion chromatograms of the present samples using polystyrene standards suggests that molecular mass distributions of pitch samples arrived at by MALDI mass spectrometry are, at least partly, determined by the limitations of available instruments. We consider the one-particle sector of the spinless Yukawa model, which describes the interaction of a nucleon with a real field of scalar massive bosons (neutral mesons). The nucleon as well as the mesons have relativistic dispersion relations. In this model we study the dependence of the nucleon mass shell on the ultraviolet cut-off ${\Lambda}$ . For any finite ultraviolet cut-off the nucleon one-particle states are constructed in a bounded region of the energy-momentum space. We identify the dependence of the ground state energy on ${\Lambda}$ and the coupling constant. More importantly, we show that the model considered here becomes essentially trivial in the limit ${\Lambda \to \infty}$ regardless of any (nucleon) mass and self-energy renormalization. A system is described for accurately synchronizing pulses from single longitudinal mode Q-switched Nd: YAG oscillator (QSO) with those from a passively mode-locked Nd: YAG oscillator (MLO). Single mode operation is achieved by applying external negative feedback stabilization to the QSO to bring it into quasi-CW operation before Q-switching is triggered by the pulse from the MLO. Summary We have considered some millimetric observations of our Galaxy and of the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) taken at the Italian
Base in Antarctica. Using other submm data and fitting all the observations with a modified Planck curve, we have obtained
useful information about the temperaureT and the spectral index α of the dust grains both for the Galaxy and the LMC. For the galactic spectrum two different couples
ofT and α match the detected fluxes:a)T=7K, α=2;b)T=15K, α=1.1. We have tried to identify the nature of the dust grains responsible for the submm and mm emission by comparing
these results with the spectral trend of some cosmic analogues studied in laboratory.

(+)-(R)-[2.2]Paracyclophane[4,5-d]-1,3-oxazol-2(3H)-one exhibiting planar chirality has been used as a chiral auxiliary in asymmetric Diels-Alder, Michael, and aldol reactions of alpha,beta-unsaturated carboxy and enolate imides, respectively. The endo-exo- and face-diastereoselectivity is good and is controlled by the spatial relationship between the prochiral center and the C9-C10 ethylene bridge of the [2.2]paracyclophane moiety. Thiolysis of a variety of 1,2-epoxides in water at 30 degrees C and pH 7.0 is strongly accelerated by ZnCl(2) (10 mol %) except when amino- and carboxythiophenol are used.
