The collision-induced dissociation (CID) of deprotonated arylalkylamines of general formula R(1)C(6)H(4)CHR(2)CH(2)NR(3)(2) (where R(1) = H, OH, F or NO(2); R(2) = H or OH; R(3) = H or CH(3)) generated by negative chemical ionization with H(2)O and D(2)O as ionizing reagents, is discussed. The negative chemical ionization mass spectra show that, in the absence of a hydroxy group in the aromatic ring, deprotonation takes place at the benzylic position whereas the proton is lost from the OH group when present. The nitro compound forms only M(-.) ions. The CID spectra of the deprotonated molecules show that fragmentations are strongly dependent on the structural features of the molecules, namely the presence or absence of substituents in the aromatic ring or aliphatic chain. By coupling a Pt‐catalyzed fluorogenic reaction with the Pt‐electrocatalyzed hydrogen‐oxidation reaction (HOR), we combine single‐molecule fluorescence microscopy with traditional electrochemical methods to study the real‐time deactivation kinetics of a Pt/C electrocatalyst at single‐particle level during electrocatalytic hydrogen‐oxidation reaction. The decay of the catalytic performance of Pt/C could be mainly attributed to the electrocatalysis‐induced etching or dissolution of Pt nanoparticles. Spontaneous regeneration of activity and incubation period of the Pt electrocatalyst were also observed at single‐particle level. All these new insights are practically useful for the understanding and rational design of highly efficient electrocatalysts for application in fuel cells.  相似文献

Three different perfluorinated type polymers as anion exchange membranes for electrochemical applications were studied. They have a sulfonamide linkage to a spacer methylene chain attached to a tri‐methyl ammonium cation, specifically using a three carbon spacer chain (PFAEM_H_C3), and methylated imide polymers with three (PFAEM_CH3_C3) and six carbon spacer chain (PFAEM_CH3_C6). There are significant number of zwitterionic side chains in the PFAEM_H_C3 polymer and very few in the PFAEM_CH3_C3 or the PFAEM_CH3_C6 polymer. They have similar halide conductivity, but the PFAEM_CH3_C6 showed highest OH? conductivity, 122 mS cm?1 at 80 °C and 95% RH. The larger spacer chain polymer, PFAEM_CH3_C6 has a higher water uptake value (λ = 9) compared to PFAEM_CH3_C3(λ = 7) at 60 °C and 95% RH in the Cl? form. Therefore, it has a larger domain spacing of 4.9 nm versus 4.1 nm from small angle X‐ray scattering data. Novel polymers with controlled microstructures were prepared and studied to further advance the understanding of structure–property relationships of proton conducting membranes. PAN‐gmacPSSA membranes, which contained poly(styrenesulfonic acid) (PSSA) grafts of defined graft length, are compared with PVDF‐g‐PSSA membranes, prepared by radiation‐grafting, and Nafion® 117. The intrinsic properties of PAN‐gmacPSSA membranes are insensitive to the macromonomer graft length but are highly dependent on the ion exchange capacities (IEC). Increasing the IEC increases the content of free water absorbed by the membrane. Self‐diffusion coefficients of water in water‐swollen PAN‐gmacPSSA were found to be similar to that of N117, despite PAN‐gmacPSSA's higher water content. Of the polymers studied, PAN‐gmacPSSA exhibited the lowest methanol permeability, which is explained on the basis of it containing a more tortuous ionic network. Background  

Our group previously demonstrated that a DNA plasmid encoding the mycobacterial 65-kDa heat shock protein (DNA-HSP65) displayed prophylactic and therapeutic effect in a mice model for tuberculosis. This protection was attributed to induction of a strong cellular immunity against HSP65. As specific immunity to HSP60 family has been detected in arthritis, multiple sclerosis and diabetes, the vaccination procedure with DNA-HSP65 could induce a cross-reactive immune response that could trigger or worsen these autoimmune diseases.  相似文献

Inelastic scattering induces dephasing in mesoscopic systems. An analysis of previous models to simulate inelastic scattering in such systems is presented and a relatively new model based on wave attenuation is introduced. The problem of Aharonov-Bohm (AB) oscillations in conductance of a mesoscopic ring is studied. We show that the conductance is symmetric under flux reversal and the visibility of AB oscillations decays to zero as a function of the incoherence parameter, signaling dephasing. Further the wave attenuation model is applied to a fundamental problem in quantum mechanics, that of the conditional (reflection/transmission) times spent in a given region of space by a quantum particle before scattering off from that region.  相似文献

Much is known about the connection between the growth and decayof subharmonic functions.
