A semiempirical calculation of the energy band structure of (SN)x has been made on a tight-binding model with three p orbitals per atom. An important feature is that the Fermi level crosses two overlapping conduction bands. Measurements are reported of the optical transmission spectrum between 0.2 and 4.0 eV in thin films, the free carrier reflectivity in thick films, and the hydrostatic pressure dependence of the conductivity to 15 kbar. The calculated band structure accounts for experimental results connected with interband transitions (optical absorption) and intraband effects (metallic conductivity, reflectivity, specific heat).  相似文献

There has been a long history of research into errors and their role in the teaching and learning of mathematics. This research has led to a change to pedagogical recommendations from avoiding errors to explicitly using them in lessons. In this study, 22 mathematics lessons were video-recorded and transcribed. A conversation analytic (CA) approach was then taken to examine how mathematical errors are treated by teachers and students when they arise in interaction. Despite pedagogical recommendations, in these interactions, errors continue to be predominantly treated as something to avoid. There is a tension between the affective aspects of managing errors in interactions and the cognitive aspects. Close examination of classroom interactions enable us to see how these tensions are managed both by teachers and students.  相似文献

With the ability to form a submicron-sized fibrous structure with interconnected pores mimicking the extracellular matrix (ECM) for tissue formation, electrospinning was used to fabricate ultra-fine fiber mats of hexanoyl chitosan (H-chitosan) for potential use as skin tissue scaffolds. In the present communication, the in vitro biocompatibility of the electrospun fiber mats was evaluated. Indirect cytotoxicity evaluation of the fiber mats with mouse fibroblasts (L929) revealed that the materials were non-toxic and did not release substances harmful to living cells. The potential for use of the fiber mats as skin tissue scaffolds was further assessed in terms of the attachment and the proliferation of human keratinocytes (HaCaT) and human foreskin fibroblasts (HFF) that were seeded or cultured on the scaffolds at different times. The results showed that the electrospun fibrous scaffolds could support the attachment and the proliferation of both types of cells, especially for HaCaT. In addition, the cells cultured on the fibrous scaffolds exhibited normal cell shapes and integrated well with surrounding fibers. The obtained results confirmed the potential for use of the electrospun H-chitosan fiber mats as scaffolds for skin tissue engineering.  相似文献

The kinetics of the release of Doxorubicin from Pluronic P105 micelles during ultrasonication and its subsequent re-encapsulation upon cessation of insonation were investigated. Four mechanisms are proposed to explain the acoustically-triggered Doxorubicin (Dox) release and re-encapsulation from Pluronic P105 micelles. The four mechanisms are: micelle destruction; destruction of cavitating nuclei; reassembly of micelles, and the re-encapsulation of Dox. The first mechanism, the destruction of micelles during insonation, causes the release of Dox into solution. The micelles are destroyed because of cavitation events produced by collapsing nuclei, or bubbles in the insonated solution. The second mechanism, the slow destruction of cavitating nuclei, results in a slow partial recovery phase, when a small amount of Dox is re-encapsulated. The third and fourth mechanisms, the reassembly of micelles and the re-encapsulatin of Dox, are independent of ultrasound. These two mechanism are responsible for maintaining the drug release at a partial level, and for recovery after insonation ceases. A normal distribution was used to describe micellar size. Parameters for the model were determined based upon the best observed fit to experimental data. The resulting model provides a good approximation to experimental data for the release of Dox from Pluronic P105 micelles.  相似文献

Er3+-doped Al2O3 optical waveguides are analyzed both as single amplifiers and as elements of a 16-channel wavelength division multiplexing transmission system; their performance is compared with that from Er3+-doped SiO2 optical waveguide amplifiers. The amplifier model, based on propagation and population-rate equa tions, includes both uniform and pair-induced up-conversion mechanisms and is solved numerically by combining finite elements and the Runge-Kutta algorithm. The analysis showed that Er3+-doped Al2O3 waveguides exhibit much higher signal gains than Er3+-doped SiO2 waveguides and also that the use of Er3+-doped Al2O3 waveguides reduces the deleterious gain peaking effect, increasing the maximum transmission distance.  相似文献

Large enhancements have been observed in the sub-barrier fusion cross sections for Ti+Ni systems in our previous studies. Coupled channel calculations incorporating couplings to 2+ and 3 states failed to explain these enhancements completely. A possibilty of transfer channels contributing to the residual enhancements had been suggested. In order to investigate the role of relevant transfer channels, measurements of one- and two-nucleon transfer were carried out for 46,48Ti+61Ni systems. A reversed-phase ion-pair liquid chromatographic analysis combined with a solid-phase extraction clean-up method is used to assess the quantity of diphacinone residue found in invertebrates. Three invertebrate species are exposed to commercially available diphacinone-fortified bait used for rat control. The invertebrate samples are collected, frozen, and shipped to the laboratory. The samples are homogenized after cryogenic freezing. A portion of the homogenized samples are extracted with acidified chloroform-acetone, followed by cleanup with a silica solid-phase extraction column. Diphacinone is detected by UV absorption at 325 nm after separation by the chromatographic system. The method limit of detection (MLOD) for snail and slug samples averaged 0.055 and 0.066 mg/kg, respectively. Diphacinone residues in snail tissue ranges from 0.83 to 2.5 mg/kg for Oxychilus spp. The mean recoveries from snails at 0.20 and 2.0 are 97 +/- 21% and 84 +/- 6%. Diphacinone residues in slug tissue ranges from 1.3 to 4.0 mg/kg for Deroceras laeve and < MLOD to 1.8 mg/kg for Limax maximus, respectively. The mean recoveries from slugs at 0.20 and 2.0 mg/kg are 91% +/- 15% and 86% +/- 5%.  相似文献
