The evaluation of persistent phosphors is often focused on the processes right after the excitation, namely on the shape of the afterglow decay curve and the duration of the afterglow, in combination with thermoluminescence glow curve analysis. In this paper we study in detail the trap filling process in europium-doped alkaline earth silicon nitrides (Ca2Si5N8:Eu, Sr2Si5N8:Eu and Ba2Si5N8:Eu), i.e., how the persistent luminescence can be induced. Both the temperature at which the phosphors are excited and the spectral distribution of the excitation light on the ability to store energy in the phosphors' lattices are investigated. We show that for these phosphors this storage process is thermally activated upon excitation in the lower 5d excited states of Eu2+, with the lowest thermal barrier for europium doped Ca2Si5N8. Also, the influence of co-doping with thulium on the trap filling and afterglow behavior is studied. Finally there exists a clear relation between the luminescence quenching temperature and the trap filling efficiency. The latter relation can be utilized to select new efficient 5d–4f based afterglow phosphors.  相似文献

Fifteen percent loss in the peak area of choline containing compounds (Cho) was recently observed in 1H MR spectra of contrast-enhancing tumor at 5–10 min after Gd-contrast administration [Magn. Reson. Med. 37:222–225, 1997]. In this study, chemical shift imaging (CSI, 1500/135 ms PRESS) was used to assess the spectral changes in 47 Gd-enhancing glial brain tumors and metastatic brain tumors measured at 0–5, 5–10, and/or 10–15 min after administration of Gd-contrast. Percent Cho peak area losses measured at these times, 3 ± 3, 12 ± 2, and 14 ± 3 SEM, respectively, coincided with trends of line narrowing and up-field shift of the Cho peak. Significant changes in creatine and N-acetyl acetate signals were not observed. It is concluded that the Gd-induced loss of tumor Cho signal measured after 5 min, typically required for post contrast-MRI and the positioning of the CSI volume on tumor, shows little further change with time, if any.  相似文献

In this work, we have compared the host abilities of closely related compounds (+)-(2R,3R)-1,1,4,4-tetraphenylbutane-1,2,3,4-tetraol (TETROL) and (2R,3R)-(?)-2,3-dimethoxy-1,1,4,4-tetraphenylbutane-1,4-diol (DMT) when these were recrystallized from single and mixed toluidine guests. Significant differences in host behaviour and selectivities were revealed and these were explained by means of single crystal diffraction experiments. Thermal analyses were used to determine the relative complex stabilities, and these data correlated exactly with the host selectivity orders for both TETROL and DMT.  相似文献

A high-performance anion-exchange chromatography (HPAEC) method was developed for determination of recombinant human erythropoietin (EPO) in pharmaceutical products. A fluorescence detector was added to the HPLC system as intrinsic fluorescence detection compared favourably to UV detection regarding sensitivity and selectivity. The HPLC method has been successfully applied to analyse erythropoietin products even in the presence of albumin as excipient. The intrinsic fluorescence chromatograms of both proteins revealed various peaks attributed to either micro-heterogeneous erythropoietin or albumin variants. The intrinsic fluorescence signal was linear over the range 10-200 microg/ml erythropoietin corresponding to pharmaceutically relevant concentrations. The HPLC method appeared to be a suitable method for differentation between recombinant human erythropoietin epoetin-alpha and -beta as they revealed different intrinsic fluorescence elution profiles. In conclusion, this study contributes to the development of a straightforward physicochemical method for specific quantification of recombinant human erythropoietin in pharmaceutical preparations.  相似文献

A quantitative analysis is presented for the site-selective Fe K-edge absorption spectra of Prussian Blue: Fe(4)[Fe(CN)(6)](3) x xH(2)O (x = 14-16). The site-selective spectra were recorded using high-resolution fluorescence detection of the K beta emission from a polycrystalline sample. The K beta fluorescence lines arising from the high-spin and low-spin sites are shifted in energy. Since the emission features partially overlap, fluorescence-detected absorption spectra using different emission energies represent different linear combinations of the pure high-spin and low-spin EXAFS. A numerical method was used to extract the individual site EXAFS spectra from the experimental data. The analysis yields a range of solutions. A unique solution can be obtained if homovalent model compounds are used to simulate the K beta fluorescence emission from the two Fe sites in Prussian Blue. EXAFS analysis of the range of spectra obtained in the numerical method yields almost identical interatomic distances for the different spectra while the Debye-Waller factors vary considerably. The distances obtained in the EXAFS fit correspond to the crystallographic distances.  相似文献

The recovery efficiencies of XAD resins −2, −4, −7, and −8 and of resin mixtures were measured using distilled water samples containing 13 organic pollutants. An equal-weight mixture of XAD-4 and XAD-8 was most efficient. XAD-2 and XAD-4/8 were further terted and found effective using tapwater. Carbon was tested as a sorbent for materials not well retained by the resins. In-column solvent washing before sample sorption was found to be as effective as Soxhlet extraction for removing background impurities. Some compounds can be desorbed from carbon by in-column solvent elution; others require Soxhlet extraction. An XAD-4/8 column in series with a carbon column was used to sample 1000 1 of tapwater. Halomethanes, n-hydrocarbons, polynuclear aromatic compounds and dibenzofuran in the order of ng/l were identified using a gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer-computer system.  相似文献

Thiamin-pyrophosphate is an essential cofactor in all living systems. The biosynthesis of both the thiazole and the pyrimidine moieties of this cofactor involves new biosynthetic chemistry. Thiazole-phosphate synthase (ThiG) catalyses the formation of the thiazole moiety of thiamin-pyrophosphate from 1-deoxy-D-xylulose-5-phosphate (DXP), dehydroglycine and the sulfur carrier protein (ThiS), modified on its carboxy terminus as a thiocarboxylate (ThiS-thiocarboxylate). Thiazole biosynthesis is initiated by the formation of a ThiG/DXP imine, which then tautomerizes to an amino-ketone. In this paper we study the sulfur transfer from ThiS-thiocarboxylate to this amino-ketone and trap a new thioenolate intermediate. Surprisingly, thiazole formation results in the replacement of the ThiS-thiocarboxylate sulfur with an oxygen from DXP and not from the buffer, as shown by electrospray ionization Fourier transform mass spectrometry (ESI-FTMS) using (18)O labeling of the 13C-, 15N-depleted protein. These observations further clarify the mechanism of the complex thiazole biosynthesis in bacteria.  相似文献
