Aptamers constitute an emerging class of molecules designed and selected to recognize any given target that ranges from small compounds to large biomolecules, and even cells. However, the underlying physicochemical principles that govern the ligand‐binding process still have to be clarified. A major issue when dealing with short oligonucleotides is their intrinsic flexibility that renders their active conformation highly sensitive to experimental conditions. To overcome this problem and determine the best experimental parameters, an approach based on the design‐of‐experiments methodology has been developed. Here, the focus is on DNA aptamers that possess high specificity and affinity for small molecules, L ‐tyrosinamide, and adenosine monophosphate. Factors such as buffer, pH value, ionic strength, Mg2+‐ion concentration, and ligand/aptamer ratio have been considered to find the optimal experimental conditions. It was then possible to gain new insight into the conformational features of the two ligands by using ligand‐observed NMR spectroscopic techniques and molecular mechanics. 相似文献

This paper describes the synthesis of triptycene‐based building blocks that are able to interact through hydrogen bonds to form one‐dimensional self‐assembled motifs on surfaces. We designed 9,10‐diethynyltriptycene derivatives functionalized at the ethynyl end groups by a variety of hydrogen‐bonding groups for homomolecular recognition and complementary building blocks for heteromolecular recognition. We also present the synthesis of bis‐ and trisethynyltriptycenes with terminal alkyne functional groups available for on‐surface azide–alkyne cycloaddition reaction to expand the potential of the triptycene building block. 相似文献

Nitroxide free radicals have been used to study the inner space of one of Rebek’s water‐soluble capsules. EPR and 1H NMR spectroscopy, ESI‐MS, and DFT calculations showed a preference for the formation of 1:2 complexes. EPR titrations allowed us to determine binding constants (Ka) in the order of 107 M ?2. EPR spectral‐shape analysis provided information on the guest rotational dynamics within the capsule. The interplay between optimum hydrogen bonding upon capsule formation and steric strain for guest accommodation highlights some degree of flexibility for guest inclusion, particularly at the center of the capsule where the hydrogen bond seam can be barely distorted or slightly disturbed. 相似文献

The heterometallic hexanuclear cyanide-bridged complex {[Mn(bpym)(H(2)O)](2)[Fe(HB(pz)(3))(CN)(3)](4)} (1), its C(15)N and D(2)O enriched forms {[Mn(bpym)(H(2)O)](2)[Fe(HB(pz)(3))(C(15)N)(3)](4)} (2) and {[Mn(bpym)(D(2)O)](2)[Fe(HB(pz)(3))(CN)(3)](4)} (3), and the hexanuclear derivative complex {[Mn(bpym)(H(2)O)](2)[Fe(B(pz)(4))(CN)(3)](4)}·4H(2)O (4) [bpym = 2,2'-bipyrimidine, HB(pz)(3)(-) = hydrotris(1-pyrazolyl)borate, B(pz)(4)(-) = tetra(1-pyrazolyl)borate] have been synthesized. Their structures have been determined through single-crystal X-ray crystallography at different temperatures. Whereas 3 and 4 maintain a discrete hexanuclear motif during the entire temperature range investigated (down to 95 K), 1 and 2 exhibit a thermally induced reversible single-crystal to single-crystal phase transition driven by a remarkable concerted rearrangement of hydrogen and cyanide coordination bonds. While hexanuclear complexes are observed in the high temperature phases (noted 1a and 2a) above 200 K, the low temperature phases are composed of one-dimensional coordination polymers noted 1b and 2b. The magnetic properties of the four compounds have been investigated in the 2-300 K range, and they reveal the occurrence of an overall antiferromagnetic behavior. The thermal dependence of the optical reflectivity and the FT-IR absorbance have been studied for 1 in the range 10-300 K and 130-300 K, respectively. A comparative analysis of the structural and electronic properties for 1-4 clearly underlines the major role of the intermolecular interactions in the topological and dimensional rearrangement observed during the structural phase transition. This result opens new perspectives in the design of cyanide-based switchable magnetic materials using coordination bonds rearrangements. 相似文献

We report the self-induced "electroclick" immobilization of the [Cu(II)(6-ethynyl-TMPA)(H(2)O)](2+) complex, by its simple electro-reduction, onto a mixed azidoundodecane-/decane-thiol modified gold electrode. We show experimentally and analytically that for single-valued, isotropic, homogeneous, randomly rough surfaces consisting of bumps randomly protruding over a continuous background, superhydrophobicity is related to the power spectral density of the surface height, which can be derived from microscopy measurements. More precisely, superhydrophobicity correlates with the third moment of the power spectral density, which is directly related to the notion of Wenzel roughness (i.e., the ratio between the real area of the surface and its projected area). In addition, we explain why randomly rough surfaces with identical root-mean-square roughness values may behave differently with respect to water repellence and why roughness components with wavelength larger than 10 μm are not likely to be of importance or, stated otherwise, why superhydrophobicity often requires a contribution from submicrometer-scale components such as nanoparticles. The analysis developed here also shows that the simple thermodynamic arguments relating superhydrophobicity to an increase in the sample area are valid for this type of surface, and we hope that it will help researchers to fabricate efficient superhydrophobic surfaces based on the rational design of their power spectral density. 相似文献

Electrophotocatalytic transformations are garnering attention in organic synthesis, particularly for accessing reactive intermediates under mild conditions. Moving these methodologies to continuous-flow systems, or flow ElectroPhotoCatalysis (f-EPC), showcases potential for scalable processes due to enhanced irradiation, increased electrode surface, and improved mixing of the reaction mixture. Traditional methods sequentially link photochemical and electrochemical reactions, using flow reactors connected in series, yet struggle to accommodate reactive transient species. In this study, we introduce a new flow reactor concept for electrophotocatalysis (EPC) that simultaneously utilizes photons and electrons. The reactor is designed with a transparent electrode and employs cost-effective materials. We used this technology to develop an efficient process for electrophotocatalytic heteroarylation of C(sp3)−H bonds. Importantly, the same setup can also facilitate purely electrochemical and photochemical transformations. This reactor represents a significant advancement in electrophotocatalysis, providing a framework for its application in flow for complex synthetic transformations. 相似文献

Pinning of the triple contact line adversely affects electrowetting on dielectric. Electrowetting response of substrates with contact angle hysteresis ranging from 1° to 30° has been characterized, and the results are interpreted within the framework of electromechanics corrected for pinning. The relationship between contact angle hysteresis, threshold potential for liquid actuation, and electrowetting hysteresis is quantified. Our results demonstrate that a modified electrowetting equation, based on balance of forces (including the pinning forces) acting on the triple contact line and on the drop, describes the electrowetting response of substrates with significant contact angle hysteresis. Finally, the surface properties of PDMS Sylgard 184 were found to be influenced by the electric field. 相似文献
