The trans and cis forms of formic acid (HCOOH) in solid argon favor essentially different photodissociation (193 nm) products, H2O + CO and H2 + CO2, respectively. The branching ratio of these channels differs between the two conformers by a factor of >10. The observed selective photodissociation features conformational memory when the transition state of a molecule is reached before torsional randomization. These data demonstrate that the photodissociation products can be efficiently steered with selective narrow-band infrared radiation promoting rotational isomerism, which makes a strong case of optically controlled chemical reactions 相似文献

A simple and sensitive procedure for the routine assay of the analgesic drug dextropropoxyphene and its main metabolite, norpropoxyphene, in plasma is described. After liquid-liquid extraction from alkalinized plasma and back-extraction into a small volume of an acidic aqueous phase, the aqueous phase was injected into a column packed with 3-microns octadecylsilica particles. Ultraviolet absorbance detection at 210 nm was used. Concentrations down to 2 nM could be determined for both compounds; at this level, the intra-assay coefficient of variation was 5%. 相似文献

A cold trap system for the determination of selenium by hydride generation-atomic absorption spectrometry (HG-AAS) is described. For a 30-ml sample the limit of detection is <2 ng/l. and the precision is better than 4% at the 30 ng/l. level. A number of digestion procedures for the destruction of organic matter prior to the determination of total dissolved selenium in water has been tested and compared. Concordant results were obtained except for oxidation by peroxodisulphate in strongly acidic solutions with a high content of organic material. The selenium concentrations found were in agreement with those obtained by HG-AAS after preconcentration by evaporation and dry ashing with the magnesium nitrate-nitric acid-hydrochloric acid method. 相似文献

A comparative quantum chemical study of CO2 adsorption on MgO and CaO has been carried out. Theoretical infrared (IR) frequencies are calculated and compared with IR experiments from the literature. The results show that CO2 adsorbs as monodentate on edge sites and bidentate on corner sites on MgO. The former assignment contradicts the common assumption of adsorption of CO2 in a bidentate configuration. On CaO, CO2 adsorbs as monodentate on both edge and corner sites, which is a reinterpretation of earlier experimental work. On terrace (100) sites, none of the adsorption modes on MgO or CaO possess calculated frequencies in agreement with the experimental IR spectra. These experimental bands were tentatively assigned to some slightly perturbed double negatively charged carbonate ions at the surface, rather than the monodentate structure suggested in the literature. 相似文献

A new chromatography system, AKTAxpress (GE Healthcare, Amersham Biosciences, Uppsala, Sweden) has been designed to meet the demand for high-throughput purification of proteins in structural genomics and drug discovery. The system offers a number of automated multistep purification protocols for affinity-tagged proteins. All protocols start with affinity chromatography followed by combinations of desalting, ion exchange chromatography and gel filtration. As an option, tag removal can be included in the purification protocols. Up to 16 proteins can be purified per day and the yield can be as high as 50 mg of each protein at > 90% purity. To highlight the versatility of the system, this paper presents several case studies; purifications of hexahistidine- and glutathione S-transferase-tagged proteins using different protocols, automated on-column tag cleavage and optimization studies for a hexahistidine-tagged kinase. 相似文献

Summary Chiral resolution of aminoalcohols is performed by ionpair chromatography using (+)-10-camphorsulphonic acid in methylene chloride + 1-pentanol (1991) as mobile phase and LiChrosorb DIOL as adsorbing stationary phase. Change of the properties of the solid phase and the nonpolar solvent affects the retention and the separation efficiency but has no significant influence on the chiral selectivity. Studies of the structural requirements for the stereoselective separation have shown that a simultaneous electrostatic and hydrogen bonding between the two enantiomeric ions is of fundamental importance. Identification of degradation products from trace organic compounds, which may retain the biological activity of the parent compound, is an important step in understanding the long‐term effects of these compounds on the environment. Constructed wetlands have been successfully utilized to remove contaminants from wastewater effluent, including pharmacologically active compounds. However, relatively little is known about the transformation products formed during wetland treatment. In this study, three different wetland microcosm treatments were used to determine the biotransformation products of the β‐adrenoreceptor antagonists atenolol, metoprolol and propranolol. LC/ESI‐Q‐ToF run in the MSE and MS/MS modes was used to identify and characterize the degradation products through the accurate masses of precursor and product ions. The results were compared with those of a reference standard when available. Several compounds not previously described as biotransformation products produced in wetlands were identified, including propranolol‐O‐sulfate, 1‐naphthol and the human metabolite N‐deaminated metoprolol. Transformation pathways were significantly affected by microcosm conditions and differed between compounds, despite the compounds' structural similarities. Altogether, a diverse range of transformation products in wetland microcosms were identified and elucidated using high resolving MS. This work shows that transformation products are not always easily predicted, nor formed via the same pathways even for structurally similar compounds. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献
