Stereoisomers of 2-methyl-1-thiadecalin

A mixture of the geometrical isomers of 2-methyl-1-thiadecalin has been separated by a combination of adsorption column chromatography and preparative gas-liquid chromatography. Dilatometric method of investigating the phase transitions of elastomers in the deformed state

A method is proposed for investigating crystallization and melting processes in vulcanizates in relation to the change of volume of specimens in the compressed or extended state. The method combines the advantages of dilatometry (accuracy of quantitative estimates) and mechanical methods (possibility of acceleration of crystallization associated with orientation of the macromolecules). The vulcanizates are tested under realistic conditions. Vulcanizates of NT Nairit and cis-1,4-polybutadiene have been tested by means of the method described; the crystallization kinetics are shown to depend on the degree of extension and compression of the specimens.Lebedev All-Union Scientific-Research Institute of Synthetic Rubber, Leningrad. Investigations in the field of benzazoles and naphthazoles

1-(Alkyl benzimidazolyl)-, 1-benzothiazolyl- and 1-benzoxazolyl-3-methyl-5-phenylformazans containing sulfo groups (in the meta or para position) in the phenyl residue have been synthesized. It has been established that some of them can be used as analytical reagents.For part XXI, see [5].     

Research on isoalloxazine derivatives

Starting from the corresponding 7-chloro- derivatives, 7-aminoalloxazines are synthesized as potential antimetabolites. A comparative study is made of the UV spectra of 7-chloro- and 7-aminoalloxazines in formic acid.     

The oxidation of ethyla luminum dichloride
