The complex scaling method for Dirac resonances

The method of complex scaling, usually used in atomic and molecular resonance calculations, is generalized to the Dirac equation. It is shown that Dirac resonances are associated with nonreal eigenvalues of the scaled Dirac Hamiltonian. The perturbation theory for the resonance parameters is also discussed.     

On the bootstrap effect in large tokamaks with lower hybrid driven current

The amplification of lower hybrid (LH) driven current of various profiles has been found. The results strongly depend on the plasma temperature profile, on the LH current profile, and on the magnitude of the particle diffusion flux.This work was started during the visit of the author in the I. Landau levels and electron radiation in planar channeling in monocrystals

The influence of a magnetic field on the motion and radiation of an electron is considered for planar channeling in a monocrystal. It is shown that discrete levels analogous to Landau levels appear in the super-barrier domain of transverse energies instead of a continuous spectrum. The spectral composition and intensity of anomalous and normal waves are computed. Synthesis of New Iron-Containing Carbon Cages by Reaction of C60 Fullerene with Ferrocene

Reaction of C₆₀ fullerene with ferrocene in the presence of aluminum chloride and aluminum in an inert atmosphere gave ferrocenyl-substituted fullerene 2C₆₀ ·1.5(C₅H₅)₂Fe ·3H₂O. The product is a thermally stable iron-containing carbon cage in which the intersphere cavity is formed by three C₆₀ polyhedra and is closed by cyclopentadienyl ligands via formation of four carbon-carbon bonds.

Stabilization of Graphite Nitrate by Intercalation of Organic Compounds

New thermally stable intercalation compounds of graphite were obtained by the further intercalation of a series of organic compounds into graphite nitrate. The stabilization is explained by the formation of hydrogen bonds between the protonated form of the modifying substance and neutral surrounding molecules.     

Mixed-metal ethylenediaminetetraacetates of neodymium and alkaline earths

Conclusions In solution, the complexes M^II(NdA)₂ do not have a polynuclear structure. In the conditions studied, hydroxo polynuclear complexes including EDTA and M^II and Nd³⁺ ions are also not formed. Our results are not inconsistent with the hypothesis that the solid complex Ca(NdA)₂·17H₂O has a polynuclear structure and that the polynuclear character is successively weakened as Ca²⁺ is replaced by Sr²⁺ and Ba²⁺.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 6, pp. 1235–1239, June, 1977.     

Acrylonitr1le anion-radical detection by infrared internal reflection spectra

The application of internal reflection spectroscopy to the study of interface boundary layers has been extended over cases in which unstable particles appear at the interface as a result of imposing a negative electrical potential on the germanium hemicylinder, used simultaneously as an optical prism in the internal reflection spectroscopic device and as an electrode. The appearance of the particles is detected by their internal reflection spectrum. The method has been applied in the case of the electrochemically induced polymerization of acrylonitrile. Two particles were found to be generated during electrolysis. They are assigned to the anionradical and to the di-anion of acrylonitrile.
