In this study, the stability constants of uranium(VI) and thorium(IV) complexes formed with 8-hydroxyquinoline (8-HOQ) and its 5-sulfonic acid (8-HOQ-5-SO3H) derivative have been determined using the Irving-Rossotti method, computing the Calvin-Bjerrum pH-titration data. As a result, it is determined that the thorium(IV) complexes are considerably more stable than the corresponding uranium(VI) complexes. On the other hand, the complexes formed between 8-HOQ-5-SO3H and uranium(VI) or thorium(IV) are less stable than the corresponding 8-HOQ complexes.  相似文献

Attempts have been made to employ magnesium oxide as the preconcentration agent for determination of trace metal sin seawater by neutron activation analysis. Hydrous magnesium oxide can efficienthy adsorb most cationic transition metals and rare earths in a simple water system. The adsorption behavior is believed to depend mainly from the association of the cationic species of the metals with MgO 2 2– adsorbent. In seawater matrix some of the metal ions such as Hg2+, Ni2+, etc. may become inefficiently adsorbed owing to the formation of highly stable metal-chloro complexes with chloride ion. Usually the adsorption efficiencies of the metals can be recovered to be as high as the case in the simple water system if an acidified seawater (to pH1) is subjected to the adsorption experiment. In practice, a large volume of seawater (5 1) is stirred with a small amount of hydrous MgO (1 g). Thereafter, the trace metals adsorbed MgO is separated and taken to be neutron activated. The abundant sodium ion and ubiquitous bromide ion can be obviated by the adsorption process, thereby beneficial to the -spectrometry of the metals enriched on MgO.  相似文献

New dioxomolybdenum(VI) complexes were prepared by reacting S-methyl/allyl-4-phenyl-thiosemicarbazones of 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde (L 1 H2 and L 2 H2) and [MoO2(acac)2] in methyl, ethyl and propylalcohols. In the complexes the doubly deprotonated ligands are coordinated to molybdenum as tridentate ONN-donors through phenolic-oxygen, azomethine- and thioamide-nitrogen. The solid complexes of general formula [MoO2L(ROH)] which contain an alcohol (ROH) as second ligand were characterized by physico-chemical and spectroscopic methods. The fluorescence emission intensities of the compounds were recorded in chloroform, and the intensity changes were evaluated depending on chelation and time. The structure of the S-allyl-4-phenyl-thiosemicarbazone complex has been determined by the single crystal X-ray diffraction method. Nowadays, cancer is still the second leading cause of death all over the world. Therefore, natural products which have anticancer and antitumor properties are come into prominence. Achillea family is known with anticancer and antitumor activity. Yarrow which has over a hundred bioactive compounds is a member of Achillea family. In current study; components of yarrow which was obtained after methanol extraction and purification were radiolabeled with 125I and effects of these radiolabeled components on the cells were examined with using Caco-2, MCF-7, A-549, PC-3 cell lines. As a result of these studies, seven peaks were obtained and the highest radiolabeling yield was calculated for 125I radiolabeled Peak 7 (95.00 ± 7.07, n = 4). To screen the biological properties of these radiolabeled peaks at determined cell lines, our ongoing effort was to evaluate incorporation percentage with time dependent. Furthermore, 125I-Peak 7 had highest incorporation ratio for whole cell lines and its incorporation percentage was increased with time dependent. Results of these in vitro studies were compatible with previous in vivo studies and traditional use of yarrow plants.  相似文献

Tweezing adsorptive bubble separation (TABS) was used as a method for the enrichment of matrix metalloproteinases (92-kDa type IV, gelatinase B (MMP-9)) and carboxypeptidase A (CPA) from dilute aqueous solutions. The method is based on the chelation of metalloenzymes applying 2-(carbamoylmethyl-(carboxymethyl)amino)acetic acid (ADA) coupled with an octyl part to form a surface active unit. MMP-9 could be enriched with an enrichment ratio of 12.0 and a recovery of 87.3%, and CPA could be enriched 18.8-fold and with 95.3% recovery. Both enzymes were enriched without significant losses of enzymatic activity. To verify that the enzymes were tweezed by ADA-C8 without abstraction of the zinc ions from the active center, TABS trials were additionally conducted with zinc ions in complex with ADA-C8, which revealed only negligible enrichment ratios of the enzymes (2.2 for MMP-9 and 0.2 for CPA). The results obtained impressively demonstrate that zinc-containing proteases can be enriched selectively and efficiently by TABS.  相似文献

It is well known that several reports on the common educational problems of nuclear chemistry have been prepared by certain groups of experts from time to time. According to very important statements in these reports, nuclear chemistry and related courses generally do not take sufficient importance in undergraduate chemistry curricula and it was generally proposed that nuclear chemistry and related courses should be introduced into undergraduate chemistry curricula at universities worldwide. Starting from these statements, an ideal program in an undergraduate chemistry curriculum was proposed to be introduced into the undergraduate chemistry program at the Department of Chemistry, Ege University, in Izmir, Turkey during the regular updating of the chemistry curriculum. Thus, it has been believed that this Department of Chemistry has recently gained an ideal teaching program in the field of nuclear chemistry and its applications in scientific, industrial, and medical sectors. Abstract  The Schiff base (Z)-6-[(2-hydroxyphenylamino)methylene]-2-methoxycyclohexa-2,4-dienone has been synthesized from the reaction of 2-aminophenol with 2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzaldehyde. The title compound has been characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and UV–Visible techniques. The structure of the title compound also was determined crystallographically. The crystal structure has been solved by direct methods and refined by full-matrix least squares. The title compound crystallize in the monoclinic space group P21/c with a = 10.438(1), b = 8.851(1), c = 12.746(1) ?, β = 95.72(1)°, V = 1171.7(2) ?3, D x  = 1.379 g cm−3, respectively (R1 = 0.0522 and wR2 = 0.126 for 1442 reflections [I > 2σ(I)]). Index Abstract   N-salicylideneaniline derivatives have been shown to exist as tautomeric forms due to intramolecular proton shifts between the phenol-oxygen and the imine-nitrogen, via intramolecular hydrogen bonding O–H···N or O···H–N.   相似文献

We consider the multi-period location planning problem of emergency medical service (EMS) stations. Our objective is to maximize the total population serviced by two distinct stations within two different response time limits over a multi-period planning horizon. Our aim is to provide a backup station in case no ambulance is available in the closer station and to develop a strategic plan that spans multiple periods. In order to solve this problem, we propose a Tabu Search approach. We demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach on randomly generated data. We also implement our approach to the case of Istanbul to determine the locations of EMS stations in the metropolitan area.  相似文献

Abstract

Iodization of consumed salts is mandatory in many countries fighting against to iodine deficiency. In salts iodine stability is affected by storage conditions. In this study, stabilization of iodine in salt has been determined by using Isotope Dilution Analysis. Heating, heating with oxidizing agent, incubation by time were the parameters which have been determined. Iodine loss was 41.16% by heating at 200°C up to 24 hours. When the iodized salt heated with oxidized agent iodine loss rose up to 58.46% in 24 hours. Iodine loss mechanism seems similar in both cases. However iodine loss is greater in the presence of H2O2. After the salt was stored at room temperature with a relative humidity of 30%–45% and in sealed paper bags for three years, 58.5% of iodine content lost in approximately 3.5 years.  相似文献
