The spectrum of the neutrinos produced in the massive photon and longitudinal plasmon decay process has been computed with
four levels of approximation for the dispersion relations. Some analytical formulae in the limit cases are derived. Interesting
conclusions related to previous calculations of the energy loss in stars are presented. The high energy tail of the neutrino
spectrum is shown to be proportional to exp(-E/kT), where E is the neutrino energy and kT is the temperature of the plasma.

Laser treatment of a solid surface was modeled by applying an analytical theory as well as by using Monte Carlo simulations. The crystalline surface was assumed to be initially smooth and chemically uniform, that is free of impurities built into the structure. Creation of surface defects by a laser beam was assumed to have entirely random nature. In particular, the surface was assumed to have been scanned by the beam focused successively on randomly chosen points. In the course of the ablation process, the beam produces a pyramidal crater whose dimensions are proportional to the applied laser power. According to the assumed nature of the scanning procedure, the craters formed by the beam are allowed to overlap. The influence of the number of laser pulses and the crater dimensions on the structural and adsorptive properties of the surface were examined by analysis of the variation of the mean surface depth and the surface width. Changes in the adsorptive properties were also estimated by the calculation of the thermally programmed desorption (TPD) spectra of monomolecular adsorbates desorbed from laser-treated surfaces. Additionally, equilibrium adsorption isotherms were calculated for the obtained surfaces. 相似文献

Three precise measurements for elastic pd scattering at 135 MeV/A have been performed with the three different experimental setups. The cross sections are described well by the theoretical predictions based on modern nucleon-nucleon forces combined with three-nucleon forces. Relativistic Faddeev calculations show that relativistic effects are restricted to backward angles. Fast growing technology and requirements for testing of different types of materials and devices require new methods and systems
for investigation of their parameters. Among the quantities of high interest are shape, deformation, roughness, local materials
constants, displacement, and strain fields of elements under load. In the paper, we present novel solutions for digital holographic
cameras, which allow for remote monitoring and measurement of the above mentioned quantities at small mechanical objects or
at restricted areas of interest at big structures. The systems have compact design, “black box” measurement approach, and
allows for fast and accurate measurements performed directly at the element and often in outdoor environment. The principles
of digital and optoelectronic reconstruction and phase manipulation are described together with the exemplary measurement

A new concept of edge illuminated solar cells (EISC) based on silicon epitaxial technique has been proposed. In this kind
of photovoltaic (PV) devices, sun-light illuminates directly a p-n junction through the edge of the structure which is perpendicular
to junction surface. The main motivation of the presented work is preparation of a working model of an edge-illuminated silicon
epitaxial solar cell sufficient to cooperation with a luminescent solar concentrator (LSC) consisted of a polymer foil doped

The aim of this paper is to present the analysis of influence of defects in 1D photonic crystal (PC) on the density of states
and simultaneously spontaneous emission, in both spatial and frequency domains. In our investigations we use an analytic model
of 1D PC with defects. Our analysis reveals how presence of a defect causes a defect mode to appear. We show that a defect
in 1D PC has local character, being negligible in regions of PC situated far from the defected elementary cell. We also analyze

Continuous-wave (CW) performance of modern oxide-confined (OC) vertical-cavity surface-emitting diode lasers (VCSELs) at room
and elevated temperatures is investigated with the aid of the comprehensive fully self-consistent optical-electrical-thermal-gain
model. A standard OC GaInNAs/GaAs double-quantum-well VCSEL emitting the 1.3-μm radiation is used as a typical modern VCSEL
structure. The oxide aperture is placed at the anti-node position of an optical standing wave within a VCSEL cavity. The desired
single-fundamental-mode (SFM) operation has been found to be expected only in VCSELs equipped with relatively small active
regions of diameters equal or smaller than 10 μm. Therefore a proton implantation used as an radial additional confinement
of the current spreading from the upper annular contact towards the centrally located active region is proposed and its impact
on the VCSEL performance is investigated. The above structure modification has been found to enable a radical improvement
in the VCSEL performance. In particular, in this case, the SFM VCSEL operation is possible even in VCSELs with quite large
active regions and for much wider ambient-temperature range than in the standard OC VCSELs. 相似文献

Experiments were carried out to determine the dependence of the physical form of supercoiled DNA films on the initial temperature of the substrate. Such films are often used in irradiation experiments involving low energy particles, like electrons or photons. In order to obtain absolute values for cross sections for such experiments, the spatial distribution of the sample in the film has to be well estimated. These investigations aim to correlate the size and form of a DNA film with the initial temperature of the substrate, on which the liquid sample is deposited prior to evacuation. From our previous studies we concluded that the presence of agents preventing DNA structural water evaporation is required in order to preserve the supercoiled plasmid DNA form under vacuum conditions. Therefore, we examined the temperature dependence on films prepared from plasmid suspended in solutions containing magnesium hydroxide, Tris-Cl buffer and various concentrations of sodium hydroxide. To visualise the films we used a conventional light microscope with a CCD camera and a scanning electron microscope. The results revealed a significant influence of the temperature of the substrate on both the area of the substrate covered by the film as well as on the spatial distribution of DNA molecules. An increase in the amount of sodium hydroxide that stabilises supercoiled DNA under vacuum increases DNA aggregation. After these investigations we conclude that the best temperature of the substrate to produce uniform and thin films should be between –5 °C and -10 °C for substrates which are not atomically flat and above 0 °C for atomically flat substrates. 相似文献
