Mismatched optical couplers with variable widths of waveguide tapered by Hamming function are numerically investigated in the demand of short-length, broadband, and low crosstalk. We used global search algorithm and beam propagation method to seek optimal structure parameters of coupling waveguide. The coupler length is 3.6 mm within the C+L-band (1.53-1.61 μm) for variable widths of waveguide at crosstalk level of −35 dB. Comparison with constant width of waveguide, the constant width of waveguide has a coupler length of 4.4 mm and can only achieve −20 dB of crosstalk within the C-band (1.53-1.565 μm). Obviously, the waveguide with variable widths has the advantage over constant width for the demand of short-length, bandwidth, and low-crosstalk. 相似文献

Thin silver films were prepared by direct current magnetron sputtering in a single-ended in-line sputter system at various substrate temperatures and in O2 contents in sputter gas, and their electrical, optical, structural and morphological properties together with the compositional properties were investigated. When deposited at room temperature, the electrical and optical properties of Ag films deteriorated with addition of O2 to sputter gas. Deposition of Ag films in O2 added sputter gas promoted the formation of Ag crystallites with (2 0 0) plane parallel to the substrate surface. The electrical resistivity and optical reflection of Ag films deposited above 100 °C were not affected by the sputtering plasma containing oxygen. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic analysis showed that Ag films deposited above 100 °C in O2 added sputter gas did not possess surplus oxygen in the film, and that the oxidation states of these films were almost identical to that of Ag films deposited in pure Ar gas. 相似文献

In this paper, we propose a posteriori error estimators for certain quantities of interest for a first-order least-squares finite element method. In particular, we propose an a posteriori error estimator for when one is interested in where . Our a posteriori error estimators are obtained by assigning proper weight (in terms of local mesh size hT) to the terms of the least-squares functional. An a posteriori error analysis yields reliable and efficient estimates based on residuals. Numerical examples are presented to show the effectivity of our error estimators. 相似文献

The main goal of this work was to study the structural transformation of humic acids (HAs) under the influence of selected strains of fungi (Aspergillus niger and Paecilomyces lilacinus) and bacteria (Bacillus sp., Paenibacillus polymyxa and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens) with/without the presence of NPK fertilizers. Two-year experiments were conducted on two different soils and HAs isolated from these soils were examined for structure, humification degree, and quantity using fluorescence and UV-Vis spectroscopy, elemental analysis, and extraction methods. Results showed that the applied additives contributed to the beneficial transformation of HAs, but effects differed for various soils. HAs from silty soil with higher organic carbon content showed simplification of their structure, and decreases in humification, molecular weight, and aromaticity under the influence of fungi and bacteria without NPK, and with NPK alone. With both fungi and NPK, increases in O/H and O/C atomic ratios indicated an increase in the number of O-containing functional groups. HAs from sandy soil did not show as many significant changes as did those from silty soil. Sandy soil exhibited a strong decline in HA content in the second year that was reduced/neutralized by the presence of fungi, bacteria, and NPK. Periodically observed fluorescence at ~300 nm/450 nm reflected formation of low-molecular HAs originating from the activity of microorganisms. 相似文献

The fluorescence lifetime and quantum yield are seen to depend in an unexpected manner on the nature of the solvent for a pair of tripartite molecules composed of two identical boron dipyrromethene (BODIPY) residues attached to a 1,10‐phenanthroline core. A key feature of these molecular architectures concerns the presence of an amide linkage that connects the BODIPY dye to the heterocyclic platform. The secondary amide derivative is more sensitive to environmental change than is the corresponding tertiary amide. In general, increasing solvent polarity, as measured by the static dielectric constant, above a critical threshold tends to reduce fluorescence but certain hydrogen bond accepting solvents exhibit anomolous behaviour. Fluorescence quenching is believed to arise from light‐induced charge transfer between the two BODIPY dyes, but thermodynamic arguments alone do not explain the experimental findings. Molecular modelling is used to argue that the conformation changes in strongly polar media in such a way as to facilitate improved rates of light‐induced charge transfer. Many soil functions depend on the interaction of water with soil. The affinity of water for soils can be altered by applying soil amendments like stone meal, manure, or biochar (a carbonaceous material obtained by pyrolysis of biomasses). In fact, the addition of hydrophobic biochar to soil may increase soil repellency, reduce water‐adsorbing capacity, inhibit microbial activity, alter soil filter, buffer, storage, and transformation functions. For this reason, it is of paramount importance to monitor water affinity for biochar surface (also referred to as ‘wettability’) in order to better address its applications in soil systems. In this study, we propose the use of fast field cycling NMR relaxometry technique with the application of a new mathematical model for data interpretation, as a valid alternative to the traditional contact angle (CA) measurements for biochar wettability evaluation. Either NMR or CA results revealed the same wettability trend for the biochars studied here. The advantage of NMR relaxometry over CA measurements lies in the possibility to obtain at the microscopic level a variety of different information in only one shot. In fact, while CA provides only wettability evaluation, NMR relaxometry also allows achievement of the mechanisms for water molecular dynamics on biochar surface, thereby leading to the possibility to understand better, in future research, the role of biochar in increasing soil quality and plant nutrition.
