Abstract

The Accelerated solvent extraction (ASE) of PAHs (23 2- to 6-ring species) spiked onto glass fibre filters (GFFs) was studied as a function of variable extraction solvents, pressure, temperature and extraction times. Acceptable recoveries (85% ± 15%) were obtained for certain combinations of conditions and a tentative method (1500 psi, 150°C, 70:30 hexane:acetone mixture, 7 min heat-up time, 5 min static extraction time, 60% flush volume, 2 static cycles was selected for further testing. However, this method did not prove as effective as the traditional Soxhlet method of extraction when these parameters were used to extract native PAHs from ambient atmospheric particulate matter collected on a GFF by Integrated Atmospheric Deposition Network (IADN) sampling protocols. The extraction recovery study for spiked GFFs was repeated using slightly different extraction conditions: 2000 psi, 100°C, 70:30 hexane:acetone, 5 min heat-up time, 5 min static extraction time, 150% flush volume, 3 static cycles. When this method was applied to the extraction of native PAHs from ambient atmospheric particulate matter collected on GFFs, the results showed equivalent or better recoveries to that of the Soxhlet method. The total time of extraction was 25 min requiring only 30 mL of solvent. This ASE method is presently used to quantitatively determine PAHs in IADN particle-phase samples.  相似文献

Solid-solid transformation mechanism of Ga Keggin-type ion intercalated clay into sodalite has been clarified by X-ray diffraction (XRD), FT-IR spectroscopy, and X-rayabsorption spectroscopy (XAS). To follow the structural evolution precisely by XANES and EXAFS, the XAS active element containing polycation [Ga13O4(OH)24(H2O)12]7+ was intercalated into montmorillonite (MMT). FT-IR and XAS spectra confirm that the formation of sodalite framework is initiated by the delocalized rearrangement between silicate networks and collapsed interlayered Ga species, and is followed by the incorporation of Al in the octahedral sheet of clay (MMT). According to the XAS studies, it is found that the formation of Ga(Al)-O-Si species is strongly influenced by the trivalent cations, which are rapidly changed in the environment, followed by reaction with the silicate network of clay during the solid-solid transformation.  相似文献

Recombinant human platelet-derived growth factor-BB (rhPDGF-BB) is widely used in many therapeutic applications. Until now, there has been no report on rhPDGF-BB expressed in fungi. In this study, we tested whether Pleurotus eryngii could support the expression of human therapeutic rhPDGF-BB protein. A binary vector pCAMBIA1304 containing the hPDGF-BB gene was constructed and introduced into P. eryngii via Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation. The transformation of hPDGF-BB gene was confirmed by Southern blot and PCR, whereas the expression was confirmed by Western blot analysis. The recombinant hPDGF-BB reached a maximum expression level of 1.98% of total soluble protein in transgenic mycelia and was in dimeric form. A bioassay revealed that hPDGF-BB expressed in P. eryngii increased proliferation of NIH-3T3 cells similarly to standard material. These results suggest that P. eryngii can be a robust system for the production of human therapeutic proteins including the hPDGF-BB.  相似文献

X3MgSi2O8: Eu2+, Mn2+ (X=Ba, Sr, Ca) phosphors with the mean particle size of 200 nm and the spherical shape are synthesized through combustion method. They show three emission colors under near-ultraviolet light: the blue and green colors from Eu2+ ions and the red color from Mn2+ ions. Three emission bands show the different emission colors with changing X2+ cations. These color shifts are discussed in terms of two competing factors of the crystal field strength and the covalency. These phosphors with maximum excitation of around 375 nm can be applied as color-tunable phosphors for white-light-emitting diode based on ultraviolet/phosphor technology.  相似文献

The control of the forced vibration response of structures through the optimal tuning of its supports is desirable in many applications. Tuning may enhance the dissipation of vibration energy within the supports, thereby reducing fatigue and structure-borne noise. Two different models were developed to calculate the optimal support stiffness that minimizes the velocity response of homogeneous plates. The first model, based on the wave propagation at the edge, yields a good first cut approximation of the optimal properties. The optimal viscous and viscoelastic support stiffness for minimal reflection at the edge was calculated. Maximum absorption of the incident waves occurs when the viscous support stiffness matches the characteristic mechanical impedances of the plate. The second model, based on the Rayleigh-Ritz method, yields more accurate estimates of the optimal support stiffness required to minimize the forced velocity response of the finite rectangular plate. The optimal support properties calculated from the two different methods were in good agreement. This suggested that the modal response of the plate is strongly influenced by the wave reflections at the edges. Finally, the effects of support properties on the sound radiated from the plate were investigated. The optimal support stiffness that minimizes the radiated sound power was found to be smaller than the value that minimizes the velocity response. The results show that both the velocity response and sound radiation are strongly influenced by dissipation of vibration energy at the edges, and demonstrate that support tuning can yield significant noise and vibration reduction.  相似文献

A new series of alternating copolymers composed of 1,4-phenylenevinylene and 2,5-thienylenylvinylene repeating units with various side chain substituents were synthesized via the Heck coupling reaction for use in light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The resulting copolymers were characterized using 1H- and 13C-NMR, DSC, and TGA. These polymers were found to be soluble in common organic solvents and are easily spin-coated onto glass substrates, producing high optical quality thin films without defects. The electro-optical properties of ITO/PEDOT/Polymer/Al devices were investigated using UV-VIS, PL and EL spectroscopy. The turn-on voltages of these devices were found to be in the range 4-16 V, with a maximum brightness of about 2900 cd/m2 at 12 V.  相似文献

Two new tetranuclear chalcocyanide cluster complexes, [{Mn(saloph)H2O}4Re4Q4(CN)12]?4 CH3OH? 8 H2O (saloph=N,N′o‐phenylenebis(salicylidenaminato), Q=Se ( 1 ‐Se), Te ( 2 ‐Te)), have been synthesized by the diffusion of a methanolic solution of [PPh4]4[Re4Q4(CN)12] into a methanolic solution of [Mn(saloph)]+. The structure of 2 ‐Te has been determined by X‐ray crystallography. These rhenium cluster‐supported [MnIII(saloph)] complexes have been found to efficiently catalyze a wide range of olefin epoxidations under mild experimental conditions in the presence of meta‐chloroperbenzoic acid (mCPBA). Olefin epoxidation by these catalysts is proposed to involve the multiple active oxidants MnV?O, MnIV?O, and MnIII? OOC(O)R. Evidence in support of this interpretation has been derived from reactivity and Hammett studies, H218O‐exchange experiments, and the use of peroxyphenylacetic acid as a mechanistic probe. Moreover, it has been observed that the participation of MnV?O, MnIV?O, and MnIII? OOC(O)R can be controlled by changing the substrate concentration. This mechanism provides the greatest congruity with related oxidation reactions that employ certain Mn complexes as catalysts.  相似文献

A sweep optical frequency synthesizer is demonstrated by using a frequency-stabilized optical frequency comb and injection-locked distributed-Bragg-reflector (DBR) laser diode. The injection-locked DBR laser acts as a single-frequency filter and, simultaneously, a high-gain amplifier of the optical frequency comb. The frequency instability of the heterodyne beat signal between two independently injection-locked DBR lasers is measured to be 2.3 x 10(-16) at 1 s averaging time. The output frequency of the sweep optical frequency synthesizer can be precisely tuned over 1 GHz, and a saturated absorption spectrum of the Cs D2 line at 852 nm is recorded by the injected DBR laser.  相似文献
