Here we report the results of combined powder X-ray and neutron diffraction studies of Bi4?x Nd x Ti3O12 (0.0 ≤ x ≤ 2.0) compositions. The parent Bi4Ti3O12 has an orthorhombic lattice (space group: B2cb) with unit cell parameters a = 5.4432(5) Å, b = 5.4099(5) Å and c = 32.821(2) Å, and V = 966.5(1) Å3. This orthorhombic lattice is retained in all the studied compositions. The unit cell parameters gradually decrease with Nd3+ ion concentration with a discontinuity at x = 0.75. Orthorhombicity of the lattice decreases with increase in Nd3+ content in the lattice. The orthorhombic unit cell parameters for a representative Bi2Nd2Ti3O12 composition are: a = 5.3834(9), b = 5.3846(9) and c = 32.784(1) Å. The observed orthorhombic distortion at x = 2.0 is very small and thus the crystal structure apparently has a pseudo-tetragonal lattice. In addition, Nd3+ preferentially substitutes in the perovskite slab of the Aurivillius structure. The fraction of Nd3+ in the fluorite slab increases with increase in Nd3+ contents. 相似文献

We explore the pattern of frequency-dependent linear and non-linear optical (NLO) response of one electron quantum dots harmonically confined in two dimensions. For some fixed values of transverse magnetic field strength (ωc), and harmonic confinement potential (ω0), the influence of effective mass (m*) of the system and the symmetry breaking anharmonic interaction on the frequency-dependent linear (α), and the first (β), and second (γ) NLO responses of the dot is computed through linear variational route. The investigation reveals interesting roles played by the anharmonic interaction and effective mass in modulating the response properties. 相似文献

Solution combustion synthesis (SCS) is a worldwide used methodology for the preparation of inorganic ceramic and composite materials with controlled properties for a wide number of applications, from catalysis to photocatalysis and electrocatalysis, from heavy metal removal to sensoristics and electronics. The high versatility and efficiency of this technique have led to the introduction of many variants, which allowed important optimization to the prepared materials. Moreover, its ecofriendly nature encouraged further studies about the use of sustainable precursors for the preparation of nanomaterials for energy and environment, according to the concept of circular economy. On the other hand, the large variety of expressions to define SCS and the often-contradictory definitions of the SCS parameters witnessed a scarce consciousness of the potentiality of this methodology. In this review article, the most important findings about SCS and the selection criteria for its main parameters are critically reviewed, in order to give useful guidelines to those scientists who want to use this methodology for preparing materials with improved or new functional properties. This review aims as well (i) to bring more clarity in the SCS terminology (ii) to increase the awareness of the SCS as a convenient tool for the synthesis of materials and (iii) to propose a new perspective in the SCS, with special attention to the use of ecofriendly procedures. Single phase Mn (2.5 at%) doped ZnO nanocrystalline samples were synthesized by reverse micelle method as characterized by Rietveld refinement analysis of X-ray diffraction data, high resolution transmission electron microscopy and selected area electron diffraction analyses. The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) studies indicated that manganese exist as Mn2+ in ZnO lattice. DC magnetization measurements as a function of field and temperature, of 2.5 at% Mn doped ZnO nanoparticles annealed at 675 K, showed room temperature ferromagnetism (RTF). This observation is further confirmed by the EPR spectrum of the sample, which shows a distinct ferromagnetic resonance signal at room temperature. These results indicate that the observed RTF in Mn-doped ZnO may be attributed to the substitutional incorporation of Mn at Zn sites. 相似文献

Nano-crystalline sulfated-zirconia solid acid catalyst has been studied for microwave-assisted solvent free synthesis of hydroxy derivatives of 4-methyl coumarin by Pechmann reaction. The catalyst showed good activity for activated m-hydroxy phenol substrates, viz., phloroglucinol and pyrrogallol with ethyl acetoacetate for the synthesis of 5,7-dihydroxy 4-methyl coumarin and 7,8-dihydroxy 4-methyl coumarin, respectively, showing significant yields ranging from 78 to 85% within 5–20 min at 130 °C. However, the less activated phenol and m-methyl phenol was observed to be inactive for the synthesis of 4-methyl coumarin and 4,7-dimethyl coumarin, respectively, under the studied experimental conditions. 相似文献

The first example of a biocatalytic [2,3]‐sigmatropic rearrangement reaction involving allylic sulfides and diazo reagents (Doyle–Kirmse reaction) is reported. Engineered variants of sperm whale myoglobin catalyze this synthetically valuable C?C bond‐forming transformation with high efficiency and product conversions across a variety of sulfide substrates (e.g., aryl‐, benzyl‐, and alkyl‐substituted allylic sulfides) and α‐diazo esters. Moreover, the scope of this myoglobin‐mediated transformation could be extended to the conversion of propargylic sulfides to give substituted allenes. Active‐site mutations proved effective in enhancing the catalytic efficiency of the hemoprotein in these reactions as well as modulating the enantioselectivity, resulting in the identification of the myoglobin variant Mb(L29S,H64V,V68F), which is capable of mediating asymmetric Doyle–Kirmse reactions with an enantiomeric excess up to 71 %. The relationship between mathematical creativity (MC) and mathematical problem-solving performance (MP) has often been studied but the causal relation between these two constructs has yet to be clearly reported. The main purpose of this study was to define the causal relationship between MC and MP. Data from a representative sample of 480 eighth-grade students were analysed using a cross-lagged panel correlation (CLPC) design. CLPC attempts to rule out plausible alternative explanation of a causal effect. The result suggests that significant predominant causal relationship was found between MC and MP. It indicates that MP was found to be a cause of MC than the converse. 相似文献
