How much does knowledge regarding a certain spoken word or phrase help with its localization? This is a very fundamental question for speech processing, and will be partially addressed in this paper. In particular, this work will utilize prior information regarding the contents of a speech signal in order to improve the artificial localization of it using Time delay of arrival (TDOA) between two microphones. The prior information, which is used to develop a very simple frequency-selective phase transform (FPT), increases the effective SNR by only using a subset of the highest SNR frequencies in the Phase Transform. Simulations in a reverberant environment show that the proposed approach can more robustly and accurately localize speech sources. For 20 ms signal segments, it is shown that using a subset of 45 percent of available speech frequency bins is superior to using 30, 60, or 100, where using 100 corresponds to the standard Phase Transform. 相似文献

A kinetic spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace amounts of Ag(I) in the range of 2–20 ng mL–1 is reported. The method is based on the catalytic effect of Ag(I) on the oxidation reaction of fuschin by potassium peroxodisulfate in the presence of 1,10-phenanthroline as an activator at pH = 5. The reaction is followed spectrophotometrically by measuring the change in absorbance (A) at 544 nm using a fixed time method (6 min). The reaction variables were optimized in order to achieve the highest sensitivity. The 3s criterion detection limit was 0.7 ng mL–1, and the relative standard deviation for ten replicate measurements of 16 ng mL–1 of Ag(I) was 0.95% (n = 10). The method was successfully applied to the determination of silver in expired black and white photographic films and results showed good agreements with those obtained by atomic absorption spectrometry. 相似文献

The interaction between Cd2+ and Pb2+ ions and 18-crown-6 (18C6), 1,10-diaza-18-crown-6 (C22) and 1,7-diaza-15-crown-5 (C21) were studied in water solvent at 25, 35, 45 and 55° using square wave voltammetric technique. The stoichiometry and stability of the complexes were determined by monitoring the shift in half-wave or peak potential of the polarographic waves of metal against the ligand concentration. Thermodynamic parameters such as G, H and S were obtained by using a polarographic double wall cell in which the temperature could be fixed to ±0.1°C. The results of all experiments show 1 : 1 complexes, but in addition to 1 : 1 ratio, a 2 : 1 ratio of ligand to cation is also obtained for C22–Pb2+ complex. The selectivity order for 18C6 and C22 is Pb2+ > Cd2+. The thermodynamic data G, H and S values show that the complexes are stabilized by both the enthalpy and entropy terms, but C22–Pb2+ complex is stabilized by only enthalpy term. 相似文献

The purpose of this Note is to show that loci of (special) Weierstrass points on the fibers of a family of smooth curves of genus can be studied by simply pulling back the Schubert calculus naturally living on a suitable Grassmann bundle over . Using such an idea we prove new results regarding the decomposition in of the class of the locus of Weierstrass points having weight at least 3 as the sum of classes of Weierstrass points having “bounded from below” gaps sequences. Acoustic effects of the time-varying glottal area due to vocal fold vibration on the laryngeal cavity resonance were investigated based on vocal tract area functions and acoustic analysis. The laryngeal cavity consists of the vestibular and ventricular parts of the larynx, and gives rise to a regional acoustic resonance within the vocal tract, with this resonance imparting an extra formant to the vocal tract resonance pattern. Vocal tract transfer functions of the five Japanese vowels uttered by three male subjects were calculated under open- and closed-glottis conditions. The results revealed that the resonance appears at the frequency region from 3.0 to 3.7 kHz when the glottis is closed and disappears when it is open. Real spectra estimated from open- and closed-glottis periods of vowel sounds also showed the on-off pattern of the resonance within a pitch period. Furthermore, a time-domain acoustic analysis of vowels indicated that the resonance component could be observed as a pitch-synchronized rise-and-fall pattern of the bandpass amplitude. The cyclic nature of the resonance can be explained as the laryngeal cavity acting as a closed tube that generates the resonance during a closed-glottis period, but damps the resonance off during an open-glottis period. 相似文献

Many nanomaterials can be used as metal oxides (Ti, Ag, Zn, Cu, Mg, Ca, Ce, Yt, Al). Metal oxide nanoparticles have strong antimicrobial properties. The oxides that play a large role as antimicrobial agents can be divided into two major groups based on their mechanism of action i.e., those that involve oxidation and those that inhibit the production of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS). Previous studies have shown that, toxic metals like silver and titanium, and their metals oxides, employ the ROS‐mediated mechanism that leads to oxidative stress‐related cytotoxicity, cancer, and heart diseases. Oxidative stress further leads to increased ROS production and also delays the cellular processes involved in wound heal‐ ing. Other metal oxide nanoparticles, like Y2O3, CeO2 and Al2O3 act as free radical scavengers. Out of these, aluminium oxide nanoparticles are more effective antimicrobial agents, than the other metal oxide nanoparticles. A combination of Al2O3 and other antimicrobial agents such as TiO2 may act as ideal antimicrobial agents, along with possessing free radical scavenging activity. A simple and sensitive extraction-spectrophotometric method for the determination of ammonium, barium and potassium in a mixture solution is reported. The DC18C6-ammonium-Orange II (DC18C6-NH(4)-OR II), DC18C6-Barium-Orange II (DC18C6-Ba-(OR II)(2)) and DC18C6-Potassium-Orange II (DC18C6-K-OR II) ternary complexes are quantitatively extracted into dichloromethane and their absorbances are measured at 483 nm. Linear calibration graphs were obtained over the concentration ranges of 0.05-3.00, 0.05-2.00 and 0.05-6.00 mug ml(-1) for ammonium, barium and potassium, respectively. The relative standard deviations for 1.0 mug ml(-1) of ammonium, barium and potassium are, respectively, 1.1, 1.6 and 2.50%. The limit of detection, LOD, for these three ions is reported to be 0.02, 0.01 and 0.02 mug ml(-1), respectively. The interfering effect of a large number of diverse ions on the determination of these three ions was studied. The method was applied to the Karon river raw water contaminated with industrial and house sewages. The results showed high potential of the recommended method for the determination of NH(4)(+), Ba(2+) and K(+) in water samples. 相似文献
