A Riemann flux that uses primitive variables rather than conserved variables is developed for the shallow water equations with nonuniform bathymetry. This primitive-variable flux is both conservative and well behaved at zero depth. The unstructured finite-volume discretization used is suitable for highly nonuniform grids that provide resolution of complex geometries and localized flow structures. A source-term discretization is derived for nonuniform bottom that balances the discrete flux integral both for still water and in dry regions. This primitive-variable formulation is uniformly valid in wet and dry regions with embedded wetting and drying fronts. A fully nonlinear implicit scheme and both nonlinear and time-linearized explicit schemes are developed for the time integration. The implicit scheme is solved by a parallel Newton-iterative algorithm with numerically computed flux Jacobians. A concise treatment of characteristic-variable boundary conditions with source terms is also given. Computed results obtained for the one-dimensional dam break on wet and dry beds and for normal-mode oscillations in a circular parabolic basin are in very close agreement with the analytical solutions. Other results for a forced breaking wave with friction interacting with a sloped bottom demonstrate a complex wave motion with wetting, drying and multiple interacting wave fronts. Finally, a highly nonuniform, coastline-conforming unstructured grid is used to demonstrate an unsteady simulation that models an artificial coastal flooding due to a forced wave entering the Gulf of Mexico. 相似文献

Electrochemical studies of direct orange 8 were carried out with a bare glassy carbon electrode (GCE) and a polypyrrole-coated GCE in aqueous acetonitrile medium using voltammetric techniques. One reversible couple around 0.3?V due to the redox reaction of the phenol group, one reduction peak around ?0.4?V due to reduction of the azo group and one oxidation peak around 1.0?V due to oxidation of the amino group were observed. Chronocoulometric studies revealed dye adsorption on the GCE. A square-wave stripping method was developed for the determination of the dye at pH 13.0, and a linear calibration equation obtained. The reproducibility in the measurement of peak currents was confirmed from the RSD value 2.8% at 0.001?mg?mL?1 concentration. A comparison of the stripping voltammetric method with the UV-Vis spectrophotometric method was made. The determination limits are wider and the RSD value is lower in the stripping voltammetric method. The concentration of the dye present in dye effluent was determined using this method. 相似文献

Planar gratings have wide applications and to date, many methods for the fabrication of gratings have been reported. Ultrashort
pulse lasers have been used for the machining of gratings primarily because they allow direct ablation and the manufacturing
of sub-wavelength structures. In this paper, we present a novel direct ablation technique for the fabrication of planar gratings
which makes use of the interference of ultrashort pulses in a common optical path configuration. This technique of grating
fabrication not only simplifies the optical setup, but also immunizes the system to extraneous and inherent vibrations, thus
enabling the manufacturing of planar gratings of good edge acuity. We have successfully fabricated planar gratings on a copper
substrate.

Phase shifting interferometry is a well-established technique for non-contact surface profile measurement. Though phase shifting technique has many advantages, it is marred by a few inaccuracies due to the vibration and mechanical movement of the phase shifter itself. Significant amount of work is reported to theoretically compensate these error sources. But for a few works, prominent achievements have not been reported in eliminating these error sources in phase shifting interferometry. In this paper, a novel optical layout, in combination with instantaneous phase shifting interferometry is described. Salicylaldimine based schiff base receptors with different substituents showing fluorescent enhancement in the presence of fluoride anion was visualized through naked eye as well as by change in spectral properties (UV–vis and fluorescent techniques). The reason for such fluorescence enhancement may be due to hydrogen bond interaction between receptor recognition site and fluoride anion. Such a hydrogen bond interaction creates a six-membered transition state, which avoids quenching processes. To support this, fluorescence enhancement factor (FEF) was calculated and it was found to be more (FEF = 652) for –NO2 substituted receptor compared to other receptors. 相似文献
