Our purpose was to evaluate the role of MRI in distinguishing fibrous from active residual masses in treated Hodgkin's disease. Forty patients with residual mediastinal mass larger than 1.5 cm underwent MRI 1, 3, 6, and 12 months after the end of cycles of prescribed chemotherapy or combined chemoradiotherapy. The MRI examinations were performed on a 0.5 and a 1.5 T systems, using T(1) before and after gadolinium injection and T(2)-weighted sequences. Each time the residual mass was evaluated in size and signal intensity on spin echo (SE) T(2)-weighted images and on SE T(1)-weighted images after contrast medium. Low signal intensity and low contrast enhancement were considered signs of inactive residues; homogeneous high signal intensity and high contrast enhancement were indicative of active residual disease; heterogeneous signal intensity and heterogeneous contrast enhancement were indicative of partial remission or necrotic/inflammatory phenomena. MR showed high diagnostic accuracy in the evaluation of Hodgkin's mediastinal residues after treatment, if performed at least 6 months after the end of therapy, reaching the highest sensitivity and specificity values at 12 month follow-up (considering the three parameters-T(2) signal intensity, contrast-enhancement, and size-all together). If we consider the single parameters individually, we can observe that size variation remains the more valuable parameter to predict or to exclude a relapse. MR diagnostic accuracy at the 6-month follow-up was lower due to the higher incidence of inhomogeneous pattern. The accuracy of MR performed at 1 and at 3 months after the end of therapy was not satisfying. An efficient route for the synthesis of novel 7-aryl and 7-spiropyrazolo[4\(^{\prime }\),3\(^{\prime }\):5,6]pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivatives is described. These compounds were obtained by a cyclocondensation reaction between pyrazolopyridinediamines 4 and aldehydes 5 or cyclic ketones 6 in the presence of acetic acid as catalyst. This procedure provides the desired compounds in good yields under a simple two-step methodology. The obtained compounds were evaluated as AChE inhibitors and showed weak AChe inhibition with \(\hbox {IC}_{50} = 115{-}470 \, \upmu \hbox {M}\). 相似文献

We consider the Heisenberg antiferromagnet on the square lattice with S=1/2 and very weak easy-plane exchange anisotropy; by means of the quantum Monte Carlo method, based on the continuous-time loop algorithm, we find that the thermodynamics of the model is highly sensitive to the presence of tiny anisotropies and is characterized by a crossover between isotropic and planar behavior. We discuss the mechanism underlying the crossover phenomenon and show that it occurs at a temperature which is characteristic of the model. The expected Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless transition is observed below the crossover: a finite range of temperatures consequently opens for experimental detection of noncritical 2D XY behavior. Direct comparison is made with uniform susceptibility data relative to the S=1/2 layered antiferromagnet Sr2CuO2Cl2. 相似文献

Abstract Ketimines la-d derived from ortho-aminosubstituted phenylthioethers were prepared in order to determine the degree of chirality transfer from the chiral auxiliary to the sulfur atom in the formation of the sulfoxide or to the α-carbon atom in the reaction of the anion with alkyl halides or benzaldehyde. Oxidation to the sulfoxide occurred with little or no asymmetric induction. The crystalline benzyl sulfone 4c was deprotonated by alkyllithium or Grignard reagents and reacted with alkyl halides and benzaldehyde, in all cases with little to fair transfer of chirality. The major diastereoisomer from methylation of the anion of 4c with methyl iodide, was isolated, and afforded the enantiomerically pure amine 5 after removal of the chiral auxiliary. An X-ray structure determination of 4d allowed the assignment of the absolute configuration of the asymmetric carbon and revealed that the conformation of the ketimine in the crystal state is not homogeneous. 相似文献

Quantum chemical calculations were used to study the mechanism of Diels-Alder reactions involving chiral anthracenes as dienes and a series of dienophiles. The reaction force analysis was employed to obtain a detailed scrutiny of the reaction mechanisms, it has been found that thermodynamics and kinetics of the reactions are quite consistent: the lower the activation energy, the lower the reaction energy, thus following the Bell-Evans-Polanyi principle. It has been found that activation energies are mostly due to structural rearrangements that in most cases represented more than 70% of the activation energy. Electronic activity mostly due to changes in σ and π bonding were revealed by the reaction electronic flux (REF), this property helps identify whether changes on σ or π bonding drive the reaction. Additionally, new global indexes describing the behavior of the electronic activity were introduced and then used to classify the reactions in terms of the spontaneity of their electronic activity. Local natural bond order electronic population analysis was used to check consistency with global REF through the characterization of specific changes in the electronic density that might be responsible for the activity already detected by the REF. Results show that reactions involving acetoxy lactones are driven by spontaneous electronic activity coming from bond forming/strengthening processes; in the case of maleic anhydrides and maleimides it appears that both spontaneous and non-spontaneous electronic activity are quite active in driving the reactions. 相似文献

The synthesis of substituted 2-phenyl-benzoxazoles has been accomplished by ring closure of Schiff bases. The compounds have been used as precursors of acrylic derivatives displaying LC properties: Four comb-like homopolymers have been obtained by radical catalysis from the acrylic monomers. The polymers have been characterized by 1H-NMR, DSC, x-ray diffraction, viscometry, and polarizing microscopy. The thermal degradation behaviour, in the absence of oxygen, of poly(p-methylstyrene) has been investigated. Monomer is the main product formed in the degradation process, together with different oligomers which have been identified and whose amounts have been determined. A reaction mechanism accounting for the formation of the degradation products, and similar to the mechanism established for polystyrene, is proposed. The main differences of the process comparing with polystyrene are the higher amount of monomer which is produced and the crosslinking structures which are formed at T < 400° C. 相似文献

In the present study, the phytochemical composition and bioactivities of A. maroccanus (AM) and A. radiatus (AR), two ecotypes collected in the Demnate road and Essaouira regions, respectively, were studied to highlight a pharmacological interest and to enable possible pharmaceutical development. To this end, methanolic and ethyl acetate extracts were prepared for each ecotype by fractionation; next, their phytochemical composition was evaluated by spectrophotometric and chromatographic analysis. Moreover, in line with the available evidence for Anacyclus spp. and their traditional use, a screening of bioactivities, including antioxidant, hypoglycemic, antiglycative, chelating, and antibacterial activities, was performed. The extracts were characterized by high amounts of polyphenols, tannins, and flavonoids, especially in the methanolic extracts; these samples were also enriched in carotenoids despite a lower chlorophyll content. Chlorogenic acid and rutin were the major identified compounds. The extracts also showed interesting hypoglycemic, antiglycative, and antibacterial properties, although with differences in efficacy and potency. Present results provide more scientific basis to the ethnopharmacological uses of Anacyclus spp. and suggest a further interest in AM and AR ecotypes as natural sources of bioactive compounds and/or phytocomplexes for possible pharmaceutical and nutraceutical developments. 相似文献
