Rare-earth-doped bifunctional alkaline-earth metal fluoride nanocrystals via a facile microwave-assisted process

Rare-earth-doped magnetic-optic bifunctional alkaline-earth metal fluoride nanocrystals have been successfully synthesized via a facile microwave-assisted process. The as-prepared nanocrystals were monodisperse and could form stable colloidal solutions in polar solvents, such as water and ethanol. They show bright-green fluorescence emisson. Furthermore, Gd(3+)-doped ones exhibit paramagnetic behavior at room temperature and superparamagnetic behavior at 2 K.     

Synthesis of N-(2-pyridyl)indoles via Pd(II)-catalyzed oxidative coupling

Readily available Pd(II) chloride catalysts can catalyze selective and efficient oxidative coupling between N-aryl-2-aminopyridines and internal alkynes to yield N-(2-pyridyl)indoles. This process involves the ortho C-H activation of N-aryl-2-aminopyridines, and CuCl(2) was used as an oxidant. Compared to our previously reported Rh(III)-catalyzed synthesis of this class of product, this method is advantageous with a wider scope of alkynes and cost-effective Pd(II) catalysts. Molecular oxygen can be used as a terminal oxidant.     

Facile synthesis of superparamagnetic Fe3O4@Au nanoparticles for photothermal destruction of cancer cells

Superparamagnetic Fe(3)O(4) nanoparticles with positive surface ξ-potential were synthesized via a solvothermal route. After Fe(3)O(4) was mixed with HAuCl(4) and NaBH(4), the reduced Au nanoparticles could be directly adsorbed onto the surface of Fe(3)O(4) nanoparticles. The as-synthesized nanocomposites were successfully applied to photothermal destruction of cancer cells.     

Significant reduction of harmful compounds in tobacco smoke by the use of titanate nanosheets and nanotubes

Shift‐invert Lanczos method for the symmetric positive semidefinite Toeplitz matrix exponential

The Lanczos method with shift‐invert technique is exploited to approximate the symmetric positive semidefinite Toeplitz matrix exponential. The complexity is lowered by the Gohberg–Semencul formula and the fast Fourier transform. Application to the numerical solution of an integral equation is studied. Ftir Studies on LB Film of Amphiphile with Schiff Base as Headgroup and Its Copper Complex

Two different ways to form monolayers and LB films (surface film and subphase film) of the complex have been used, where a novel amphiphile containing Schiff base as a headgroup was used as a ligand. the monolayer behavior at the air/water interface was characterized by π-A isotherms and two-dimensional molecular orientation of alkyl chains in LB films and thermal stability were measured by polarized and variable temperature FTIR transmission spectra, indicating that the LB film of the novel amphiphile and its copper(II) complex are very stable as well as stearic acid. Because incorporating the metal ion into the monolayer makes it more condensed, thermal stability of the LB film was enhanced. as can be compared from their structure and properties, subphase films are superior to surface films.     

Emission Spectrum and Resistivity of Low Power Plasma Weld Arcs

Emission spectra from plasma arc welds were observed under a variety of current, voltage, polarity, and standoffs. If reverse polarity (welding torch positive) welds are struck below 50 amperes most of the power is deposited at the electrode rather than the workpiece because of low carrier density within the arc. Straight polarity, on the other hand, suffers no such limitation because of electrons created in the pilot arc used to start the weld process.     

可压缩涡流场中空泡运动规律及声辐射特性研究

基于可压缩流体力学基本理论, 通过边界积分方程, 采用不同表面压力模型, 求解空泡在计及可压缩性的涡流场中的运动规律; 通过表面离散及坐标变换, 采用Kirchhoff动边界积分方程, 将空泡表面视为运动变形边界, 作为直接噪声源, 获得涡流场中空泡运动产生的时域声压分布; 分析了涡流场参数对空泡运动规律及声辐射特性的影响. 研究结果表明: 计及流场可压缩性, 空泡的脉动幅度会随时间减弱, 辐射声压幅值随之减小; 空泡在涡流场中会发生延展、 颈缩、 撕裂, 并在撕裂后子空泡中形成射流; 当流场中的压力减小时, 空泡运动过程中的最大半径与撕裂前的最大长度逐渐增加, 且当流场中压力较小时, 空泡撕裂时形成的子空泡增多; 空泡辐射声压的指向性较弱, 撕裂会使辐射声压产生突变, 形成极大峰值; 随着涡通量的增大或空泡数的减小, 空泡脉动周期及其诱导的辐射声压波动周期随之延长, 辐射声压峰值逐渐滞后并减小. 本文结果旨在为涡流场中空泡运动规律及声辐射特性的相关研究提供参考. 关键词： 可压缩 涡流场 空泡 声辐射
