A simple, mild, efficient, and expedient greener dethioacetalization protocol employing a catalytic amount of nontoxic ammonium iodide (10 mol%) in combination with 30% hydrogen peroxide as terminal oxidizer is revealed. The reagent accomplished facile deprotection of 1,3-dithianes and dithiolanes of activated aromatic substrates in an aqueous medium in the presence of sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS) at room temperature under virtually neutral conditions. Deactivated and sterically encumbered substrates, which are otherwise reluctant to cleave under aqueous micellar conditions, were expeditiously cleaved in good to excellent yields in acetic acid. The method is tolerant, with several acid-sensitive protecting groups, such as tert-butyldiphenylsilyl (TBDPS) ether, aryl acetate, NHBoc, and NHBn, and with further oxidation of oxidation-prone activated benzaldehydes and furyl aldehydes. A tentative mechanism of hypoiodous acid–mediated catalytic cleavage is proposed.

A mild protocol for the synthesis of 7-arylbenzopyrano[4,3-b]benzopyran-6,8-diones by three-component reaction of 4-hydroxycoumarin, aromatic aldehyde, and 5,5-dimethylcyclohexane-1,3-dione (dimedone) with boric acid catalyst under aqueous micellar conditions is described. Good to excellent yield, high selectivity, tolerance of several common functional and protecting groups, and green features including avoidance of organic solvent in the reaction as well as isolation stage and use of nontoxic water-compatible mild Lewis acid catalyst are key attractive features of the protocol.

We report ultralow threshold polariton lasing from a single GaN nanowire strongly coupled to a large-area dielectric microcavity. The threshold carrier density is 3 orders of magnitude lower than that of photon lasing observed in the same device, and 2 orders of magnitude lower than any existing room-temperature polariton devices. Spectral, polarization, and coherence properties of the emission were measured to confirm polariton lasing.  相似文献

Four-component massive and massless Dirac fermions in the presence of long range Coulomb interaction and chemical potential disorder exhibit striking fermionic quantum criticality. For an odd number of flavors of Dirac fermions, the sign of the Dirac mass distinguishes the topological and the trivial band insulator phases, and the gapless semimetallic phase corresponds to the quantum critical point that separates the two. Up to a critical strength of disorder, the semimetallic phase remains stable, and the universality class of the direct phase transition between two insulating phases is unchanged. Beyond the critical strength of disorder the semimetallic phase undergoes a phase transition into a disorder controlled diffusive metallic phase, and there is no longer a direct phase transition between the two types of insulating phases.  相似文献

This communication describes a simple method that uses a thin film of octafluorocyclobutane (OFCB) polymer for efficient nanoscale transfer printing (nTP). Plasma polymerization of OFCB produces a Teflon-like fluoropolymer which strongly adheres and conformally covers a 3-D inorganic stamp. The inherently low surface energy of in situ deposited OFCB polymer on nanoscale silicon features is demonstrated as a unique nanocomposite stamp to fabricate various test structures with improved nTP feature resolution down to sub-100 nm.  相似文献

According to the well‐accepted mechanism, methyl‐coenzyme M reductase (MCR) involves Ni‐mediated thiolate‐to‐disulfide conversion that sustains its catalytic cycle of methane formation in the energy saving pathways of methanotrophic microbes. Model complexes that illustrate Ni‐ion mediated reversible thiolate/disulfide transformation are unknown. In this paper we report the synthesis, crystal structure, spectroscopic properties and redox interconversions of a set of NiII complexes comprising a tridentate N2S donor thiol and its analogous N4S2 donor disulfide ligands. These complexes demonstrate reversible NiII‐thiolate/NiII‐disulfide (both bound and unbound disulfide‐S to NiII) transformations via thiyl and disulfide monoradical anions that resemble a primary step of MCR's catalytic cycle.  相似文献

We prove the existence and uniqueness of a solution of a C0 Interior Penalty Discontinuous Galerkin (C0 IPDG) method for the numerical solution of a fourth‐order total variation flow problem that has been developed in part I of the paper. The proof relies on a nonlinear version of the Lax‐Milgram Lemma. It requires to establish that the nonlinear operator associated with the C0 IPDG approximation is Lipschitz continuous and strongly monotone on bounded sets of the underlying finite element space.  相似文献

The thermoelectric performance of a thermoelement is ideally defined in terms of the so-called figure-of-meritZ = α2σ/λ, where α,σ and λ refer respectively to the Seebeck coefficient, electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity of the thermoelement material. However, there are other parameters which are fairly good indicators of a material’s thermoelectric ‘worth’. A simple yet useful performance indicator is possible with only two parameters — energy gap and lattice thermal conductivity. This indicator can outline all potentially useful thermoelectric materials. Thermal conductivity in place of lattice thermal conductivity can provide some additional information about the temperature range of operation. Yet another performance indicator may be based on the slope of α vs. ln σ plots. α plotted against ln σ shows a linear relationship in a simplified model, but shows a variation with temperature and carrier concentration. Assuming that such a relationship is true for a narrow range of temperature and carrier concentration, one can calculate the slope m of α vs. ln σ plots against temperature and carrier concentrations. A comparison between the variation ofZT and slopem suggests that such plots may be useful to identify potential thermoelectric materials.  相似文献

A chelating ion exchange resin was synthesized from 8-hydroxyquinoline and catechol using formaldehyde as a cross linking agent at 120 ± 2 °C in DMF solution. The resin was characterized by FTIR and elemental analysis. The morphology of the synthesized resin was studied by optical photograph and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Various kinetic parameters such as energy of activation (Ea), enthalpy of activation (H?), entropy of activation (S?), free energy of activation (G?), order of reaction (n) and pre-exponential factor (A) of various steps of thermal decomposition have been calculated from thermogravimertic results. The physico-chemical properties of the resin have been studied. The total cation exchange capacity was measured and effect of pH and metal ion concentration on ion exchange capacity were studied. The rate of cation exchange reactions and distribution coefficient values in tartaric acid media at different pH were also studied using batch equilibration method.  相似文献
