In this paper, the development of decision support tools for dynamic ambulance relocation and automatic ambulance dispatching is described. The ambulance dispatch problem is to choose which ambulance to send to a patient. The dynamic ambulance relocation problem occurs in the operational control of ambulances. The objective is to find new locations for some of the ambulances, to increase the preparedness in the area of responsibility. Preparedness is a way of evaluating the ability to serve potential patients with ambulances now and in the future. Computational tests using a simulation model show that the tools are beneficial in reducing the waiting periods for the patients.  相似文献

Two-dimensional photonic crystal lasers have been fabricated on III–V semiconductor slabs. Tuning of the spontaneous emission in micro and nanocavities has been achieved by accurate control of the slab thickness. Different structures, some of them of new application to photonic crystal lasers, have been fabricated like the Suzuki-phase or the coupled-cavity ring-like resonators. Laser emission has been obtained by pulsed optical pumping. Optical characterization of the lasing modes have been performed showing one or more laser peaks centred around 1.55 μm. Far field characterization of the emission pattern has been realized showing different patterns depending on the geometrical shape of the structures. These kinds of devices may be used as efficient nanolaser sources for optical communications or optical sensors.  相似文献

We propose an explanation for the experimentally observed [1] giant temperature hysteresis of the ultrasound velocity and internal friction in single crystals of lanthanum manganite (La0.8Sr0.2MnO3). The effect is interpreted within the framework of a phenomenological model based on the notion of two coexisting sublattices of the oxygen octahedra performing cooperative tilting-rotational oscillations in bistable potential fields.  相似文献

In the field of research on soluble conducting polymers, the poly(o-alkylanilines) are very interesting because we can expect them to give more soluble polymers and new properties. Like poly(o-propylaniline) (POP), which is more soluble than polyaniline (PANi), poly(o-hexylaniline) (POH) appears to be more soluble in organic solvents than POP because of the longer alkyl groups in the 2-position. The higher solubility confers better processability on this new polymer, and because of this solubility, an NMR study in solution became possible.The nitration of hexylbenzene and the reduction of the resulting product to o-hexylaniline were performed according to the literature. The chemical polymerization was easy and it is possible to produce this polymer in large quantities.The polymerization carried out in anhydrous NH4F, 2.35 HF medium and in 5 M perchloric acid gave a polymer with almost quantitative yield. The electrochemical behaviour of POH displayed faster electron transfers than PANi in organic solvents, depending on the acido-basicity level of the aqueous solutions. Unlike PANi, fractal growth was not observed.  相似文献

The conditions that we derive for inequality constrained problems do not require constraint qualifications and are the broadest conditions based on only first-order and second-order derivatives. Convergence properties of weighted sums of functions in D([0, 1]; E) (E a Banach space) are investigated. We show that convergence in the Skorokhod J1-topology of a sequence (xn) in D([0, 1]; E) does not imply convergence of a sequence ( n) of averages. Convergence in the J1-topology of a sequence ( n) of averages is shown, under the growth condition xn ∞ = o(n), to be equivalent to the convergence of ( n) in the uniform topology. Convergence of a sequence (xn,) is shown to imply convergence of the sequence ( n) of averages in the M1 and M2 topologies. The strong law of large numbers in D[0, 1] is considered and an example is constructed to show that different definitions of the strong law of large numbers are nonequivalent.  相似文献
