The effects of varying LiPF6 salt concentration and the presence of lithium bis(oxalate)borate additive on the electronic structure of commonly used lithium‐ion battery electrolyte solvents (ethylene carbonate–dimethyl carbonate and propylene carbonate) have been investigated. X‐ray Raman scattering spectroscopy (a non‐resonant inelastic X‐ray scattering method) was utilized together with a closed‐circle flow cell. Carbon and oxygen K‐edges provide characteristic information on the electronic structure of the electrolyte solutions, which are sensitive to local chemistry. Higher Li+ ion concentration in the solvent manifests itself as a blue‐shift of both the π* feature in the carbon edge and the carbonyl π* feature in the oxygen edge. While these oxygen K‐edge results agree with previous soft X‐ray absorption studies on LiBF4 salt concentration in propylene carbonate, carbon K‐edge spectra reveal a shift in energy, which can be explained with differing ionic conductivities of the electrolyte solutions.  相似文献

Angle-resolved X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and contact-angle measurements guided by a signal attenuation model are utilized to extract molar composition and anion enrichment in the vacuum interface of a binary ionic liquid mixture, having a common quaternary ammonium cation and two different anions. By using the intensity ratio of the F1s peaks belonging to the two different anions recorded at the full electron take-off angle range, from 0° to 80°, we have determined that only a fractionally covered and anion enriched surface layer can predict the AR-XPS data, which is also consistent with surface tension measurements. Moreover, the more bulky and non-spherical anion enrichment is evident even at the conventional and the so assumed bulk sensitive take-off angle of 0°. This methodology provides a surface enrichment factor of the molecular ions and clearly serves as an experimental evidence for recently debated surface layering and/or island structure in ionic liquid systems.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of new cluster compounds represented by the series Ir(4)(CO)(12-x)L(x) (L = tert-butyl-calix[4]-arene(OPr)(3)(OCH(2)PPh(2)); x = 2 and 3) is reported using ESI mass spectrometry, NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Thermally driven decarbonylation of the cluster compound series represented by x = 1-3 according to the formula above is followed via FTIR and NMR spectroscopies, and dynamic light scattering in toluene solution. The propensity of these clusters to decarbonylate in solution is shown to be directly correlated with number density of adsorbed calixarene phosphine ligands and controlled via Pauli repulsion between metal d and CO 5σ orbitals. The tendency for cluster aggregation unintuitively follows a trend that is exactly opposite to the cluster's propensity to decarbonylate. No cluster aggregation is observed for clusters consisting of x = 3, even after extensive decarbonylation via loss of all bridging CO ligands and coordinative unsaturation. Some of the CO lost during thermal treatment via decarbonylation can be rebound to the coordinatively unsaturated cluster consisting of x = 3. In contrast, the clusters consisting of x = 1 and x = 2 both aggregate into large nanoparticles when treated under identical conditions. Clusters in which the calixarene phosphine ligand is replaced with a sterically less demanding PPh(2)Me ligand 6 lead to significantly less coordinative unsaturation upon thermal treatment. Altogether, these data support a mechanical model of accessibility in coordinatively unsaturated metal clusters in solution, which hinges on having at least three sterically bulky organic ligands per Ir(4) core.  相似文献

Strong experimental and theoretical evidence was provided on the controlled formation of the two-dimensional J-aggregates that were assembled in the herringbone morphology. The exciton-band structure formation of 1,1',3,3'-tetraethyl-5,5',6,6'-tetrachlorobenzimidazolocarbocyanine (TTBC) J-aggregates was investigated in ionic (NaOH) aqueous solution at room temperature. The control was achieved by changing the [TTBC] at a given [NaOH], or vice versa, and was monitored through the changes in the absorption, fluorescence excitation, and emission spectra. Specific attention was paid to expose the excited-state structure and dynamics through simulations of the excitonic properties, which included diagonal energetic disorder and phonon-assisted exciton relaxation. Aggregates were characterized by an asymmetrically split Davydov pair, an H-band (approximately 500 nm, 1300 cm(-1) wide, Lorentzian-like) and a J-band (approximately 590 nm, 235 cm(-1) wide, with a band shape typical of a one-dimensional J-aggregate), whose relative intensities showed a strong dependence on the [TTBC]/[NaOH]. The H-band is favored by high [TTBC] or high [NaOH]. An explanation of the control on the aggregate formation was given by correlating the changes in the absorption with the structural modifications and the subsequent changes in the dynamics, which were induced by variations in the dye and NaOH concentrations. The J-band shape/width was attributed to disorder and disorder-induced intraband phonon-assisted exciton relaxation. The intraband processes in both bands were estimated to occur in the same time scale (about a picosecond). It has been suggested that the wide energetic gap between the Davydov split bands (3000 cm(-1)) could get bridged by the excitonic states of the loosely coupled chains, in addition to the monomeric species at low [TTBC]. Phonon-assisted interband relaxation, through the band gap states and/or directly from the H- to the J-band, are suggested for accounting the difference between the bandwidths and shapes of the two bands. Energy transfer between the H-band and the monomeric species is suggested as crucial for tuning the relative strengths of the two bands.  相似文献

The molecular geometry, IR intensities, harmonic and anharmonic vibrational frequencies of 4-, 5-, 6-chloroindole in the ground state were calculated by DFT/B3LYP level of theory using the 6-31G (d, p) basis set. To give complete and reasonable vibrational assignments, the normal coordinate analysis has been performed for 4-chloroindole, 5-chloroindole and 6-chloroindole. The effect of position of chloro atom on the molecular properties (electron density, dipole moments and energies) of the indole aromatic system is examined on the basis of calculation data for 4-, 5- and 6-chloroindoles.  相似文献

The time-frequency Wigner-Ville distribution for a pulsed plane-wave signal propagating in a continuous random medium is found, based on the previously derived modal series expression for the two-frequency coherence function. The theory can address propagation in any homogeneous isotropic random medium, but closed-form expressions are specifically derived for a general power-law medium. Two alternative formulations are presented: a modal-wavefront approach wherein each mode is asymptotically transformed to the time domain and a collective approach wherein the mode series is summed collectively and then transformed to the time domain using pole contributions. The physical interpretation of these two different representations in the time-frequency domain as either a superposition of localized wavefronts or collective excitations is established, and their applications to the calculation of local moments are considered.  相似文献
