Synthesis of tertiary α-amino phosphonate by one-pot three-component coupling mediated by LPDE

A very mild, efficient and simple method for the synthesis of tertiary α-amino phosphonates is reported by reaction of an aldehyde, a secondary amine and trialkylphosphite in ethereal solution of lithium perchlorate, LPDE, at ambient temperature with high yields.     

Application of gold-labeled antibody biosensor in simultaneous determination of total aflatoxins using artificial neural network

Preparation of antibody-coated gold nanoparticles (GNPs) specific to aflatoxins B1, B2, G1 and G2 and its use in developing aflatoxins diagnostic method were presented in this paper. The formation of gold-labeled antibodies was accomplished at optimal condition. Due to severe overlapping between the emission profiles for the aflatoxins, they cannot be determined by direct inspection of data. The strategy used in this study, constituted by artificial neural network (ANN), was easy to implement and to originate reliable results. ANN can be successfully applied to spectrofluorimetric spectra matrices to simultaneous determination of total aflatoxins. Quantitative results obtained using ANN method for aflatoxins in pistachio nuts samples were compared to those obtained using the HPLC method. Obtained results using these two methods did not show significant differences.     

One-pot diastereoselective synthesis of α-aminonitriles from aldehydes, chiral amines, and trimethylsilyl cyanide under solvent-free conditions

Treatment of aliphatic and aromatic aldehydes with chiral amines and trimethylsilyl cyanide in the absence or in the presence of Lewis acids (including lithium perchlorate) under solvent-free conditions afforded the corresponding α-aminonitriles in good yields and with a diastereoselectivity of 68 to 86%. A mild, rapid and highly regioselective ring-opening of epoxides and aziridines with acetic anhydride under solvent-free conditions using ammonium-12-molybdophosphate

A highly regioselective ring opening of epoxides and aziridines can be carried out efficiently with acetic anhydride to form the acetates of the corresponding 1,2-diols and 2-amino-alcohols, respectively, using ammonium-12-molybdophosphate (AMP) as a heterogeneous catalyst, at room temperature, in the absence of solvent.     

A green and highly efficient alkylation of thiols in water

An environmentally benign and efficient process for the preparation of thioethers was developed by simple and practical reactions of alkyl halides and thiols in water in the presence of K₂CO₃ or Et₃N in very high yields. The reaction of aryl, alkyl, aliphatic and hindered thiols with various alkyl halides gave the corresponding products with significant advantages such as high conversions, short reaction time, mild reaction conditions, and low cost, simple workup with good to quantitative yields.     

Catalyst-free Friedel-Crafts alkylation of naphthols with nitrostyrenes in the presence of water

Accelerated Michael-type Friedel-Crafts alkylation of naphthols with nitrostyrenes in the presence of water is reported. The procedure is simple, catalyst-free, and affords good yields of the products.     

Dithiocarbamate as an efficient intermediate for the synthesis of 2-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazoles in water

A new and facile protocol for the synthesis of 2-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazoles in water is described. Reaction of acid hydrazides with easily prepared dithiocarbamates gives the corresponding thiadiazoles in moderate to excellent yields. 2-Amino-1,3,4-oxadiazoles were not observed as side products using this procedure.     

Back doping design in delta-doped AlGaN/GaN heterostructure field-effect transistors

In this paper, we investigate theoretically the electron transport in AlGaN/GaN single-barrier and in AlGaN/GaN/AlGaN double-barrier heterostructures, aimed to operate as high-power and high-temperature field-effect transistors. The presence of spontaneous and piezoelectric polarizations as well as the heterointerface polarity are evoked and taken into account in the modelling part. Delta-doping is used as a source of electrons for the channel quantum well. Calculations of the electron-band parameters are made by using self-consistent solutions of coupled Schrodinger-Poisson equations. It is found that the polarization fields act to significantly increase the two-dimensional sheet charge concentration. Moreover, the AlGaN/GaN heterostructures with higher Al compositions are found to be favourable for higher electron densities. On the other hand, the employment of a back doping with delta-shaped profiles is shown to improve further the electrical behaviour of the field-effect transistors studied.
