In the analysis of a medical image database aimed at formulating useful knowledge for image diagnosis requires an unsupervised image processing technique without preconceived knowledge. In this paper, we propose a method for unsupervised image segmentation, which is suitable for finding the features contained in an image. A small region around each pixel is considered as a pattern vector, and the set of pattern vectors acquired from the whole image is classified using the hierarchical clustering technique. In hierarchical clustering, the classification of pattern vectors is divided into two clusters at each node according to the statistical criterion based on the entropy in thermodynamics. Results of the test image generated by the Markov random field (MRF) model and real medical images photomicrographs of a colon tumor are shown.  相似文献

To understand the effect of the replacement of Tyr residue at position 1 in opioid peptides by 2,6-dimethyl-Tyr (Dmt) on the biological property, chiral (D or L) Dmt1 analogs of Leu-enkephalin (Enk) and Tyr-D-Arg-Phe-beta Ala-NH2 (YRFB) were synthesized and their enzymatic stabilities, in vitro bioactivities and receptor binding affinities compared with those of parent peptides. [L-Dmt1]Enk (1) exhibited 4-fold higher stability against aminopeptidase-M and possessed dramatically increased activities in guinea pig ilium (GPI) (187-fold) and mouse vas deferens (MVD) (131-fold) assays, and in rat brain receptor binding assays (356-fold at mu receptor and 46-fold at delta receptor) as compared to Enk. [L-Dmt1]YRFB (3) also exhibited increased activities in GPI (46-fold) and MVD (177-fold) assays, and in the binding assays (69-fold at mu receptro and 341-fold at delta receptor) as compared to the parent peptide. [D-Dmt1]Enk (2) and [D-Dmt1]YRFB (4) exhibited activities with diminished or lesser potency than the parent peptide in all assays. These results indicate that there is a tendency for mu affinity to be enhanced more than delta affinity with introduction of L-Dmt into delta ligand peptide (Enk), and for delta affinity to be enhanced more than mu affinity in case of mu ligand peptide (YRFB), resulting in reduced receptor selectivities at the receptors.  相似文献

Stereoregulation in the cationic polymerization of various alkyl vinyl ethers was investigated with bis[(2,6‐diisopropyl)phenoxy]titanium dichloride ( 1 ; catalyst) in conjunction with the HCl adduct of isobutyl vinyl ether as an initiator in n‐hexane at −78 °C. The tacticities depended on the substituents of the monomers. Isobutyl and isopropyl vinyl ethers gave highly isotactic polymers (mm = 83%), whereas tert‐butyl and n‐butyl vinyl ethers resulted in lower isotactic contents (mm ∼ 50%) similar to those for TiCl4, a conventional Lewis acid, thus indicating that the steric bulkiness of the substituents was not the critical factor in stereoregulation. A statistical analysis revealed that the high isospecificity was achieved not by the chain end but by the catalyst 1 or the counteranion derived therefrom. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. With excitation by the light of the wavelengths longer than 320 nm, fluorescence spectra of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) films had somewhat different shapes from those excited below 300 nm through the intrinsic absorption of PET molecules. Also, in the measurements taken with a polarizer in front of the receiving monochoromator but none before the sample, the intensity ratio of parallel (to the draw axis of the film) and perpendicular components of the emission spectra was different if excited above 320 nm or below 300 nm. Discussion was made about the first step of pumping photon energy at the wavelengths above 320 nm. Fluorescence spectra of polyethylene 2,6‐naphthalate films showed a mirror image of their absorption spectra, consisting of one broad band having the same polarization as their absorption spectra. Electronic structures of ionic liquids formed by 1-buthyl-3-alkylimidazolium ion [Cnmim]+ (n = 4 and 8) with various inorganic and organic anions have been investigated by ultraviolet photoemission, X-ray photoemission, inverse photoemission and soft X-ray emission spectroscopies (SXES). The comparison of the calculated density of states with the observed spectra revealed that the molecular orbital energies of these ionic liquids are significantly affected by the electrostatic Madelung potential among the ions. The SXES results clearly show that the both highest occupied and lowest unoccupied states of [C4mim]+PF6 are derived from the cation as a result of strong Madelung potential. On the other hand, the SXES results show the valence electronic structures of ionic liquids with larger anion molecules, [Cnmim]+Tf2N and [Cnmim]+OTf are contributed from the both cation and anion.  相似文献

Anionic polymerization of triphenylmethyl methacrylate was performed by using P-chiral bisphosphine initiators. According to the optical rotation analysis and circular dichroism measurements, the polymer obtained by using the initiator (S,S)-1,2-bis(boranato(tert-butyl)methylphosphino) ethane exhibited one-handed helical conformation induced by the chirality of phosphorus atoms in the polymer terminal. The enantiomer (R,R)-1,2-bis(boranato(tert-butyl)methylphosphino) ethane gave the opposite one-handed helical polymer. Optically active bisphosphine (S,S)-1,2-bis(boranatomethylphenylphosphino) ethane was employed for the helix-sense-selective polymerization of triphenylmethyl methacrylate in order to obtain the polymer with the same helix sense as the polymer obtained from the initiator (S,S)-1,2-ethane bis(t-butylm-ethylphosphineborane). Further, removal of the coordinated boranes and complexation with platinum(II) on the chiral phosphorus atoms were carried out in order to yield the corresponding polymer-platinum(II) complex without loss of its chiral higher-ordered structure.  相似文献

An in situ, selective, and quantitative hydrogenation of the terminal chlorine (alpha-haloester) in living PMMA-Cl into PMMA-H was achieved via direct transformation of a "polymerization catalyst" into a "hydrogenation catalyst" in the Ru(II)-catalyzed living radical polymerization, where the polymerization mixture of MMA was directly treated in situ with K2CO3 as a base and 2-propanol as a hydrogen donor. The reaction terminated the polymerization and, more importantly, the terminal chlorine was quantitatively hydrogenated, as confirmed by SEC, 1H NMR, and MALDI-TOF MS.  相似文献

Coherent phase control of the photodissociation reaction of the dimethylsulfide has been achieved by means of quantum-mechanical interference between one- and three-photon transitions. Dimethylsulfide was irradiated by fundamental and frequency-tripled outputs of a visible laser (600.5-602.5 nm), simultaneously to yield CH3S+ and CH3SCH2+ fragment ions. The branching ratio of the two product channels could be modulated with variation of the phase difference between the light fields. This accounted for the difference between the molecular phases of the two product channels. The phase lag was observed to have a maximum value of 8 degrees at 601.5 nm. This is the first result of a selective bond breaking in a polyatomic molecule by the coherent phase control.  相似文献

Chemical synthesis of homogeneous human glycoproteins exhibiting bioactivity in vivo has been a challenging task. In an effort to overcome this long-standing problem, we selected interferon-β and examined its synthesis. The 166 residue polypeptide chain of interferon-β was prepared by covalent condensation of two synthetic peptide segments and a glycosylated synthetic peptide bearing a complex-type glycan of biological origin. The peptides were covalently condensed by native chemical ligation. Selective desulfurization followed by deprotection of the two Cys(Acm) residues gave the target full-length polypeptide chain of interferon-β bearing either a complex-type sialyl biantennary oligosaccharide or its asialo form. Subsequent folding with concomitant formation of the native disulfide bond afforded correctly folded homogeneous glycosyl-interferon-β. The chemically synthesized sialyl interferon-β exhibited potent antitumor activity in vivo.  相似文献
