The structural characteristics of methanol in aqueous solutions, on a molecular level, can be elucidated by four types of calculation: molecular orbital, multiparametric optimization of intermolecular potential function, Monte Carlo, and molecular dynamics. As a first step, the potential between water and methanol was determined by ab initio LCAO SCF molecular orbital calculations with the STO—3G basis set and subsequent multiparametric fitting. This and water—water potentials were used for Monte Carlo calculation on an aqueous methanol solution containing a 1:216 mole ratio of methanol to water. The polymerization of vinyl monomer initiated by an aqueous solution of poly(vinylbenzyltrimethyl)ammonium chloride (Q-PVBACI) was carried out at 85°C. Styrene, p-chlorostyrene, methyl methacrylate, and i-butyl methacrylate were polymerized, whereas acrylonitrile and vinyl acetate were not. The effects of the amounts of vinyl monomer, Q-PVBACI, and water on the conversion of vinyl monomer were studied. The overall activation energy in the polymerization of styrene was estimated as 79.1 kJ mol?1. The polymerization proceeded through a radical mechanism. The selectivity of vinyl monomer was discussed by “a concept of hard and soft hydrophobic areas and monomers.”  相似文献

Mixed micelles formed by zwitterionic surfactant dimethyldodecylammniopropane sulfonate and short-chain phospholipid 1,2-diheptanoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine in different proportions in an aqueous medium have been studied physicochemically at an air/water interface and in the bulk by using interfacial tension and pyrene fluorescence intensity measurements, respectively. The critical micellar concentration and free energies of micellization and of interfacial adsorption have been determined. The interfacial study reveals that a mixed monolayer is formed at the air/water interface by the adsorption of surfactant and phospholipid monomers. This has been confirmed by evaluating the interfacial parameters; the maximum surface excess, the minimum area per molecule of a surface-active compound, and the Gibbs surface excess related to surface pressure. The nonideality of mixing, expressed in the terms of the regular solution interaction parameter, #, has negative values over the whole mole fraction range. The negative # values indicate the mutual synergism between the surfactant and phospholipid monomers. The equilibrium distribution of components between micelle and monomer phases was evaluated using a theoretical treatment based on excess thermodynamics quantities evaluated by Motomura's formulation.  相似文献

A new type of chiral receptor (R,R)- or (S,S)-1b with C(2) symmetry was synthesized. An induced-fit type of binding behavior of 1b for diamines was revealed by CD spectroscopy. NMR studies demonstrated that 1b can function as a highly sensitive chiral shift reagent for the determination of the enantiomeric purity of chiral diamines, aziridine, and isoxazoline at the microgram level. The overall extraction constants (Kex) of uni- andbivalent metal picrates with 15-(2,5-dioxahexyl)-15-methyl-16-crown-5(L16C5) were determined between benzene and water at 25°C. TheKex values were analyzed into the constituent equilibriumconstants, i.e., the extraction constant of picric acid, the distributionconstant of the crown ether, the stability constant of the metalion–crown ether complex in water, and the ion-pair extraction constantof the complex cation with the picrate anion. The Kex valuedecreases in the orders Ag+ > Na+ >Tl+ > K+ > Li+ andPb2+ > Ba2+ > Sr2+ for theuni- and bivalent metals, respectively, which are the same as those observedfor 16C5. The extraction selectivity was found to be governed by theselectivity of the ion-pair extraction of the L16C5–metal picratecomplex rather than by that of the complex formation in water. Theextraction ability of L16C5 is smaller for all the metals than that of 16C5,which is mostly attributed to the higher lipophilicity of L16C5. Differencesin the extraction selectivity between L16C5 and 16C5 were observed for thebivalent metals but little for the univalent metals. The side-arm effect onthe extraction selectivity was interpreted on the basis of the negativecorrelation between the effect on the complex stability constant in waterand that on the ion-pair extraction constant.  相似文献

In order to provide a macromolecular prodrug of 5-fluorouracil (5FU) reducing the side effects, having an affinity for tumor cells, and exhibiting strong antitumor activity, the covalent attachments of 5FUs to chitosan and chitosamino-oligosaccharide (COS) through hexamethylene spacer groups via urea, urea bonds were carried out. The enzyme and nonenzyme hydrolyses of the end ester group in polyethylene glycol (PEG) esters were studied. The end monoester in PEG ester is known to be easily hydrolyzed by alkaline or acidic solution. 2-Methyl-ω-benzoyloxypoly(oxy-1,2-ethanediyl)(Bz-PEG) and 2-methyl-ω-4-nitrobenzoyloxypoly(oxy-1,2-ethanediyl) were found to be hydrolyzed by lipase and esterase in Tris buffer solution (pH 7.7) but 2-methyl-ω-acetoxypoly(oxy-1,2-ethanediyl) was not. The parameters of enzyme reaction in the hydrolysis of ester bonds in Bz-PEG by esterase were estimated to be as follows: Vmax = 6.09 × 10?7 mol/dm3.s, Km = 7.63 × 10?4 mol/dm3.  相似文献

Abstract

The photopolymerization of triallylidene sorbitol (TAS) was carried out in benzene at 40°C without the usual initiator. The polymerization of TAS was found to be initiated with the ester radical generated via the acetal radical from TAS by means of photoirradiation. The rate of polymerization and the molecular weight of polymer were small due to the degradative chain transfer, It was kinetically investigated from the standpoints of the degradative chain transfer by the allylidene group and the cyclization by three double bonds. The following results were obtained: (1) The relation between the rate of polymerization, Rp, the monomer concentration, [M], could be expressed by [M] /Rp = (A[M] + B)/(3[M] + C), where A, B, and C were constant; (2) the ratio of the rate constant of unimolecular cyclization to the total rate constant of bimolecular propagation and the chain transfer of uncyclized radical was estimated to be 3.0 mol/dm3. Abstract

The polymerization of some kinds of vinyl monomer was found to occur in aqueous solutions of poly(ethylene glycol) diglycolic acid (PEG Acid) or sodium poly(ethylene glycol) diglycolate (PEG Acid Na) through radical mechanisms without any further initiator, as a so-called “uncatalyzed polymerization.” Although the initiating radical species for PEG Acid was determined to be the same as that for PEG Acid Na by means of the spin-trapping technique, the initiating ability of PEG Acid was higher than that of PEG Acid Na. These results are assumed to be attributable to the difference in the initiation mechanisms of the two systems and in the incorporating abilities of monomer into the hydrophobic areas formed by PEG Acid and PEG Acid Na.  相似文献

The radical polymerization of vinyl monomers initiated with several kinds of hydrophilic macromolecule was carried out in a magnetic field. The magnetic field promoted the polymerization; the conversion of monomers and the molecular weight of the polymers obtained increased with increasing field strength in the range of 0–0.1 T. The dependence of the composition and tacticity of the mother polymer on the magnitude of the magnetic field was studied. Using graft or block copolymers, which consisted of hard and soft segments, the effect of a magnetic field was further investigated. The degree of hardness and tightness of the hydrophobic areas (reaction areas) formed by the mother polymer in the aqueous solution was found to affect the magnetic field effect on the uncatalyzed polymerization. The overall activation energy obtained in the magnetic field was almost equal to that obtained without a magnetic field.  相似文献
