Efficiency of interactive multi-objective simulated annealing through a case study

We have previously developed an adaptation of the simulated annealing for Multi-Objective Combinatorial Optimisation (MOCO) problems to construct an approximation of the efficient set of such problems. Here we transform this approach to propose an interactive procedure deriving a ‘good compromise’. The method is tested on the problem of homogeneous grouping of nuclear fuel cans which is in fact multi-objective even if the approaches proposed in the literature do not handle this multi-dimensional characteristic.

Zusammenfassung Für das spezielle Auswahlproblem (einer minimalen Auswahl) und das allgemeine Auswahlproblem (einer kostenminimalen Auswahl) wird eine Methode entwickelt, die sich aus einer Reduzierung auf indominante Auswahlen und anschließender Boolescher Multiplikation innnerhalb des zum reduzierten Problem gehörigen bipartiten Graphen zusammensetzt.

For the special selection problem (minimal selection) and the general selection problem (optimal selection) a method is developed, which makes use of a reduction to an indominant selection problem and some Boolean operations in a bipartite graph, which belongs to the reduced problem.

Alpha-heavy-ion angular correlations from 28Si + 12C

Alpha particles have been measured in coincidence with heavy recoil nuclei from the ²⁸Si + ¹²C reaction. At E_lab = 87 MeV angular correlations for alphas between 15° and 55° and heavy ions at angles ?9°, ?12° and ?15° have been taken. An excitation function of coincidence events with θ_α = 30° and θ_HI = ?12° has been measured for 84 MeV < E_lab < 91.5 MeV. The results are well described by a statistical-model calculation for compound nucleus decay. No evidence is found for additional processes.
