The 3,5-dimethylphenylcarbamates of cellulose and amylose bearing a small amount of 3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl residues were synthesized by a simple process and efficiently immobilized onto a silica gel support by intermolecular polycondensation of the triethoxysilyl groups. The obtained chiral packing materials (CPMs) were evaluated by high-performance liquid chromatography. The polysaccharide derivatives containing about 1-2% of the 3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl residue were efficiently immobilized with a high chiral recognition. The immobilized CPMs could be used with the eluents containing chloroform and tetrahydrofuran, which cannot be used with the conventional coated-type CPMs. By using these eluents, the chiral recognitions for many racemates could be improved.  相似文献

We report the synthesis of high-entropy-alloy (HEA) nanoparticles (NPs) consisting of five platinum group metals (Ru, Rh, Pd, Ir and Pt) through a facile one-pot polyol process. We investigated the electronic structure of HEA NPs using hard X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, which is the first direct observation of the electronic structure of HEA NPs. Significantly, the HEA NPs possessed a broad valence band spectrum without any obvious peaks. This implies that the HEA NPs have random atomic configurations leading to a variety of local electronic structures. We examined the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and observed a remarkably high HER activity on HEA NPs. At an overpotential of 25 mV, the turnover frequencies of HEA NPs were 9.5 and 7.8 times higher than those of a commercial Pt catalyst in 0.05 M H2SO4 and 1.0 M KOH electrolytes, respectively. Moreover, the HEA NPs showed almost no loss during a cycling test and were much more stable than the commercial Pt catalyst. Our findings on HEA NPs may provide a new paradigm for the design of catalysts.

The end-functionalization of living polymers with bases (methanol, benzylamine, diethyl sodiomalonate, and sodium methoxide) and organosilicon compounds [X ? Si(CH3)3;X ? : CH2?C(CH3)COO? , CH3COO? , CH2?CHCH2? , C6H5? ] was investigated in the living cationic polymerization of styrene initiated with the 1-phenylethyl chloride/SnCl4/nBu4NCl system in CH2Cl2 at ?15°C. The four bases and C6H5SiMe3, independent of their structures, were apparently incapable of reacting with the living end and invariably led to polystyrenes with the ω-end chlorine [~ ~ ~ CH2CH(Ph)Cl] originated from the initiating system. The number-average end-functionality (F?n) of the chloride, determined by 1H-NMR, was close to unity (F?n > 0.9). The presence of chlorine in the polymer was also confirmed by elemental analysis. In contrast, the quenching by the trimethylsilyl compounds with X = methacryloxy, acetoxy, and allyl gave ω-end-functionalized polystyrenes with the corresponding terminal groups (X) for which the F?n values were close to unity (F?n > 0.9). The stereoselective epoxidation of styrene was catalyzed by H2O2‐dependent cytochrome P450SPα in the presence of carboxylic acids as decoy molecules. The stereoselectivity of styrene oxide could be altered by the nature of the decoy molecules. In particular, the chirality at the α‐positions of the decoy molecules induced a clear difference in the chirality of the product: (R)‐ibuprofen enhanced the formation of (S)‐styrene oxide, whereas (S)‐ibuprofen preferentially afforded (R)‐styrene oxide. The crystal structure of an (R)‐ibuprofen‐bound cytochrome P450SPα (resolution 1.9 Å) revealed that the carboxylate group of (R)‐ibuprofen served as an acid–base catalyst to initiate the epoxidation. A docking simulation of the binding of styrene in the active site of the (R)‐ibuprofen‐bound form suggested that the orientation of the vinyl group of styrene in the active site agreed with the formation of (S)‐styrene oxide.  相似文献

A half‐metallocene iron iodide complex [Fe(Cp)I(CO)2] induced living radical polymerization of methyl acrylate (MA) in conjunction with an iodide initiator [(CH3)2C(CO2Et)I, 1 ] and Al(Oi‐Pr)3 to give polymers of controlled molecular weights and narrow molecular weight distributions (MWDs) (Mw/Mn < 1.2). With the use of chloride and bromide initiators, the MWDs were broader, whereas the molecular weights were similarly controlled. Other acrylates such as n‐butyl acrylate (nBA) and tert‐butyl acrylate (tBA) can be polymerized with 1 /Fe(Cp)I(CO)2 in the presence of Ti(Oi‐Pr)4 and Al(Oi‐Pr)3, respectively, to give living polymers. The 1 /Fe(Cp)I(CO)2 initiating system is applicable for the synthesis of block and random copolymers of acrylates (MA, nBA, and tBA) and styrene of controlled molecular weights and narrow MWDs (Mw/Mn = 1.2–1.3). © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A method for measuring external diameters of metal cylinders is proposed in which a sinusoidally vibrating interference pattern (SVIP) of 100-μm period is used as an exact scale. Lights from the end-points of a metal cylinder are extracted with a spatial filtering in an imaging system to form a cross-sectional image of the metal cylinder. On the image a sinusoidally phase-modulated signal owing to the SVIP is detected with a CCD image sensor to measure the phases of the SVIP at the two end-points of the cylinder. The coordinates of the two end-points are obtained from the phases at the two end-points, the phase distribution of the SVIP, and the coordinates of the pixels of the CCD image sensor. Metal cylinder diameters of 7.99, 8.00, and 9.00 mm are measured along their length directions with an error less than 1 μm.  相似文献

The accelerator complex at the RIKEN Radioisotope Beam Factory accelerates heavy ions ranging from oxygen to uranium using triple stripping system to provide the beams at required charge. In many cases, the charge strippers cause problems during high-intensity beams accelerator operation. The charge stripper problem has been most significant during uranium beam acceleration because the lifetimes of the conventional carbon foils are extremely short. We conducted extensive R&D on the first stripper and found a solution using a low-Z gas stripper. We also plan to modify a second stripper operating recently with short-lifetime carbon foils. The stripper with better parameters will be needed when the beam intensity is increased by a new injector system for acceleration of uranium beam with higher charge.  相似文献

Phosphoric and phosphinic acid derivatives (R1R2PO2H; R1, R2 = OPh, OPh; OnBu, OnBu; Ph, Ph; Ph, H) in conjunction with zinc chloride (ZnCl2) led to living cationic polymerization of isobutyl vinyl ether (IBVE) in toluene below 0°C. The number-average molecular weights (M?n) of the polymers (M?n > 2 × 104) were directly proportional to monomer conversion and in excellent agreement with the calculated values assuming that one polymer chain forms per R1R2PO2H molecule. Throughout the reaction, the molecular weight distributions (MWDs) stayed narrow (M?w/M?n ? 1.1). A dibasic acid, PhOP (O) (OH)2, coupled with ZnCl2, also induced living cationic polymerization of IBVE where one molecule of the acid generated two living polymer chains. The polymerization by (PhO)2PO2H/ZnCl2 and its model reactions were directly analyzed by 31P and 1H-NMR spectroscopy. The analysis showed that the acid initially forms the adduct [CH3CH(OiBu)OP(O)(OPh)2], the phosphate linkage of which is in turn activated by ZnCl2 so as to initiate living propagation. The finding thus indicates that (PhO)2PO2H indeed acts as an initiator in the living polymerization. The NMR analysis also suggested that an exchange reaction occurs between the phosphate group at the polymer terminal and the chlorine in ZnCl2. The occurrence of living IBVE polymerization with these various R1R2PO2H/ZnCl2 systems shows that phosphoric and phosphinic acids are another general class of protonic acids which are effective initiators for the living cationic polymerization assisted by Lewis acids. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

We propose a sinusoidal wavelength-scanning interferometer for measuring thickness and surface profile of a thin film. The interference signal contains phase modulation amplitude Z and phase $aL which are related to the positions and profiles of the reflecting surfaces, respectively. By reducing the difference between the detected signal and the estimated signal using the multidimensional nonlinear least-squares algorithm, we estimate values of Z and $aL. Experimental results show that the front and rear surfaces of a silica glass plate of 20 $mUm-thickness could be measured with an error less than 10 nm.  相似文献
