Many studies suggest strong hydrophilicity of plasma treated polyester surfaces. However, no studies have been reported on
the influence of plasma on the antibacterial activity of polyethylene terephthalate. First samples were padded with triclosan
as antibacterial agent with different concentrations. Second samples were treated by oxygen plasma with different operating
frequency and treating time, respectively. Afterwards, plasma treated samples were padded with triclosan in same conditions.
The results revealed that the antibacterial activity slighlty increased after treating with triclosan. SEM images and FTIR
spectra showed that horizontal channels were brought about on the fiber surface and then better surface roughness and wettability
were obtained by plasma. Fibers were fully coated with triclosan after plasma and the antibacterial activity increased with
increasing operating frequency and reaction time. Finally, the samples treated with triclosan after plasma gave acceptable
results and showed the best antibacterial activity for Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. 相似文献

N‐Aryl amination and the Buchwald–Hartwig reaction are of great synthetic and industrial interest and scientists accept their usefulness and versatility for obtaining arylamines. In this study Ag–N‐heterocyclic carbene complexes were used as transmetallation reagents for the synthesis of Pd–N‐heterocyclic carbene complexes. The new Pd–N‐heterocyclic carbene complexes were characterized using elemental analysis and 1H NMR, 13C NMR and infrared spectroscopies. The crystal structure of one, namely dichlorobis[1,3‐bis(2‐methylbenzyl)imidazolidin‐2‐yliden]palladium(II), is presented. The activity of the Pd(II) complexes in the coupling reaction of anilines or amines with bromobenzene was investigated. Forced convection heat transfer in fully developed flows of viscous dissipating fluids in concentric annular ducts is analyzed analytically. Special attention has been paid to the effect of the viscous dissipation. Two different cases of the thermal boundary conditions are considered: uniform heat flux at the outer wall and adiabatic inner wall (Case A) and uniform heat flux at the inner wall and adiabatic outer wall (Case B). Solutions for the velocity and temperature distributions and the Nusselt number are obtained for different values of the aspect ratio and the Brinkman number. The present analytical results for the case without the viscous dissipation effect are compared with those available in the literature and an excellent agreement is observed. To cite this article: M. There is anecdotal evidence for the significant effects of salt ions on the flotation separation of minerals using process water of high salt content. Examples include flotation of soluble salt minerals such as potash, trona and borax in brine solutions using alkylammonium and alkylsulfate collectors such as dodecylamine hydrochloride and sodium dodecylsulfate. Although some of the effects are expected, some do not seem to be encompassed by classical theories of colloid science. Several experimental and modeling techniques for determining solution viscosity, surface tension, bubble-particle attachment time, contact angle, and molecular dynamics simulation have been used to provide further information on air–solution and solid–solution interfacial phenomena, especially with respect to the interfacial water structure due to the presence of dissolved ions. In addition atomic force microscopy, and sum frequency generation vibrational spectroscopy have been used to provide further information on surface states. These studies indicate that the ion specificity effect is the most significant factor influencing flotation in brine solutions. 相似文献

In this note, we reply to the comments by Rees and Magyari (2007) on our article (Aydin and Kaya 2007). They mainly stated
that the thermal boundary conditions we defined at the edge of the boundary layer were incompatible with the energy equation.
This is questionable and therefore we will discuss it below. They disclosed that our results were in error. However, this
is quite misleading. Scientifically, they cannot reach such a conclusion without comparing our results with what they thought

Treatment of N,N′-bis(mesityl)pyridine-2,6-carboxyimidoyl dichloride, 1, in toluene solution with [Pt(PPh3)4] at 100 °C afforded a novel platinacyclic compound, 3, in 63% yield, instead of the expected compound 2. The molecular and crystal structures of the title compound, 3, have been determined by the single crystal X-ray diffraction technique. The coordination geometries around the Pt atoms are distorted square-planar. In the crystal structure, the molecules are linked by a pair of C–H···N hydrogen bonds into a centrosymmetric dimer with an ring, centred at (1/2,1/2,1/2). 相似文献
