In this paper, we explore how firms can manage their raw material sourcing better by developing appropriate sourcing relationships with their raw material suppliers. We detail three empirical case studies of firms explaining their different raw material sourcing strategies: (a) firms can adopt a hands-off approach to raw material management, (b) firms can supply raw material directly to their suppliers, and this may be beneficial for some agents in the supply chain, and (c) firms can bring their component suppliers together, and the resulting cooperation between suppliers can be beneficial for supply chain. We then analytically model the three raw material scenarios encountered in our empirical work, examine the resulting profits along the supply chain, and extend the results to a competitive buyer scenario. Overall, our results show that active management of raw material sourcing can add value to supply chains.  相似文献

Nanosize zinc ferrite particles, prepared by nitrate method, were investigated by XRD, TEM, 57Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy and VSM. The average particle size in this system varies from 10 to 62 nm as the sintering temperature increases from 300°C to 1,000°C. The lattice parameters in this system are almost constant at a value of ~8.41 Å. The Mössbauer spectra of all the sintered samples show a single doublet. The Mössbauer hyperfine parameters show little change with the change of sintering temperature. The doublets are ascribed to the presence of superparamagnetism in this system, which is also corroborated by the VSM measurements.  相似文献

A literal model using geometric examination was formulated to calculate the optimum width and length of multimode interference structure used in the 1 × 2 power splitter and plot electric field intensity for input and each output signal. Designing and simulation of the wavelength response of 1 × 2 splitter using Tapered and MMI assisted structure. Mechanism on the critical geographical parameters like length and width of MMI structure, separation distance between output ports ‘S’, arm angle ‘α’ which give the optimum power and electric field intensity for the considered necessary wavelength. Finite difference beam propagation methods have been used to simulate the conventional and tapered MMI device behaviour.  相似文献

The repulsive potential in ionic crystals recently proposed by Narayan and Ramaseshan (NR) can be expressed as the sum of the contributions from the individual ions. In the present paper we show that using this repulsive potential it is possible to divide the polarizability arising from the relative displacement of ions into its ionic constituents. NR have also derived the ionic radii in alkali halides which we have used to estimate the electronic polarizabilities of ions with the help of polarizability-radius cube relation. The electronic polarizabilities of alkali and halogen ions thus evaluated show a good agreement with those deduced from the experimental refraction data.  相似文献

The Fourier transform method is used to solve fractional Poisson’s equation with Riesz fractional derivative of order α. It is shown that the solution is given in terms of the fractional dimensional space D. In this paper, we prove the first approximate max-flow min-cut theorem for undirected multicommodity flow. We show that for a feasible flow to exist in a multicommodity problem, it is sufficient that every cut's capacity exceeds its demand by a factor ofO(logClogD), whereC is the sum of all finite capacities andD is the sum of demands. Moreover, our theorem yields an algorithm for finding a cut that is approximately minimumrelative to the flow that must cross it. We use this result to obtain an approximation algorithm for T. C. Hu's generalization of the multiway-cut problem. This algorithm can in turn be applied to obtain approximation algorithms for minimum deletion of clauses of a 2-CNF formula, via minimization, and other problems.
