A long-chain derivative of 1,3-dioxolane sodium propyloxy sulfate, with similar denaturing and electrophoretic properties as SDS, and facilitated protein identification following polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE) for Coomassie-stained protein bands, has been tested. Comparative acid-labile surfactant/sodium dodecyl sulfate two-dimensional (ALS/SDS 2-D)-PAGE experiments of lower abundant proteins from the proteomes of regenerating rat retina and mouse brain show that peptide recovery for mass spectrometry (MS) mapping is significantly enhanced using ALS leading to more successful database searches. ALS may influence some procedures in proteomic analysis such as the determination of protein content and methods need to be adjusted to that effect. The promising results of the use of ALS in bioanalytics call for detailed physicochemical investigations of surfactant properties. 相似文献

3'-aminoacylamino-3'-deoxyadenosines, analogues of the antibiotic puromycin, have been synthesized from adenosine. They key 3'-azido derivative 10 was obtained through a 3'-oxidation/reduction/substitution procedure. A modified purification protocol on a larger scale was developed for the oxidation step using the Garegg reagent. The coupling reaction between an Fmoc-l-amino acid and the fully protected form of 3'-amino-3'-deoxyadenosine 11 furnished the aminoacylated compounds 12 in high yields. Sesquiterpenes (C15H24, SQT) are semi-volatile organic compounds emitted from vegetation and are of interest for air quality considerations because of their suspected contribution to the formation of secondary aerosol. This article investigates the application of a capillary diffusion method for the generation of standard atmospheres of 16 SQT and four other related semi-volatile compounds. This instrument subsequently has been used in the testing of analytical materials, protocols and calibration of air sampling methods. SQT DB-1 retention indices, vapor pressures at 25 and 75 degrees C, and diffusion coefficients were determined. A quantitative, on-line GC method yielded improved results (median relative standard deviation of 5.0-6.1%) for the diffusion rate determination in comparison to a gravimetric approach (median relative standard deviation 18%). The GC method also allowed identifying errors in the gravimetric method stemming from residual solvent evaporation, impurities, and chemical analyte losses. Stainless steel, glass, nickel and PTFE tubing that were tested for transfer lines and a sampling loop had to be kept at temperatures in excess of approximately 110 degrees C in order to prevent significant analytical errors from the stickiness of SQT to these materials. In addition to SQT analysis, results from this research provide general guidelines for gas-phase analysis of related compounds in the C14-C16 volatility range. 相似文献

The present study evaluates and correlates the morphology of poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and sodium alginate (SA) nanofibres with their internal structure to determine dielectric and tensile properties for future applications as long-lasting and resistant cell scaffolds. This work generates electrospun nanofibres mixing SA concentration in a PVA solution cross-linked in calcium chloride media. The dielectric properties of the nanofibres that were obtained using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) show that at higher amount of SA in the PVA/SA fibres, the cross-linking process occurs at shorter times, indicating the modification of the internal structure of the PVA/SA. The X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS) demonstrate that the chemical composition of the nanofibres varies depending on the depth profile. The transmission electron microscopy (TEM) proves that the PVA/SA is formed as a core-shell coaxial nanofibre. The tensile testing demonstrates that with a higher SA concentration, the mechanical properties show brittleness. 相似文献

The nitridophosphates AEP8N14 (AE=Ca, Sr, Ba) were synthesized at 4–5 GPa and 1050–1150 °C applying a 1000 t press with multianvil apparatus, following the azide route. The crystal structures of CaP8N14 and SrP8N14 are isotypic. The space group Cmcm was confirmed by powder X-ray diffraction. The structure of BaP8N14 (space group Amm2) was elucidated by a combination of transmission electron microscopy and diffraction of microfocused synchrotron radiation. Phase purity was confirmed by Rietveld refinement. IR spectra are consistent with the structure models and the chemical compositions were confirmed by X-ray spectroscopy. Luminescence properties of Eu2+-doped samples were investigated upon excitation with UV to blue light. CaP8N14 (λem=470 nm; fwhm=1380 cm−1) and SrP8N14 (λem=440 nm; fwhm=1350 cm−1) can be classified as the first ultra-narrow-band blue-emitting Eu2+-doped nitridophosphates. We report the hydrothermal synthesis and characterization of a layered cobalt phenylphosphonate. Unlike most metal phosphonates reported to date, the structure was solved by single crystal X-ray diffraction (SC-XRD). Co(ii) centres are hexa-coordinated by oxygen and the octahedra corner-share into a layer. The layers are capped by phenylphosphonate groups, where the phenyl groups define a hydrophobic bilayer region. The material was also characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and SQUID (superconducting quantum interference device) magnetometry. The material undergoes an antiferromagnetic transition at a relatively low Néel temperature of 4.0 K, while the Curie-Weiss temperature of -76.5 K reflects the low-dimensionality of the magnetic structure. The effective magnetic moment of 5.01 micro(B) per Co(2+) verifies a high-spin configuration and an octahedral coordination of the metal centres. This layered material was correctly predicted in the literature from powder data, adds to the structural diversity of the cobalt phosphonates, and may be useful as an intercalation or exfoliation compound. 相似文献
